Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! TH-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at a very unique Ford Excursion, with the optional 7.3L diesel and a bunch of cool custom work!
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. The 7.3 Powerstroke, probably Ford's best diesel engine, it may not be the most powerful thing on the planet, but definitely worth it for the durability and longevity.
With a proper tune and a few minor upgrades you would be surprised what the old 7.3 can do.
It’s an international diesel
But it was built for Ford.
That turbo whistle is so badass
Reed Thorndyke I prefer the turbo whistle on one of my schools old bluebird buses
That turbo whistle is so badass
2:00 can't stop replaying that. Reminds me exactly of my grandfather's old 99 F-350.
Is he dead yet?
Kane Bowser-Wieser 3 are you?
@@kanebowser-wieser3667 no
Ladies and gentlemen I present to you tha true million mile engine
+James Young Not with that fucking chip and tune that it has :'(
James Young Try an 83 Mercedes Turbo Diesel
Or a Cummins
🤣🤣🤣 I see no lies here
Man, the time FLIES, it's like i watched this video yesterday when it camed out :-)
Excursion are the best ford suv ever seen with awesome engines like the 7.3 and v10 too both of them never died
I love the sound it makes when it first starts and when reved.
I'm a Toyota guy but DAMN nothing touches the sound of a 7.3. Beast.
Anyone else like the startup of the 7.3? It has a nice burley sound to it.
Same here! Can't beat the sound of a 7.3
+Trikster1of4 A lot of it is the fact that it's straight piped no muffler no cat mind has the same exhaust and I love ittends to piss off the neighbors though a little bit but who the hell cares honestly but the 7.3s are no joke they don't die
Powerstrokin01 lol I know it's straightpiped bro :D
but yeah the 7.3 is impossible to kill
You KNOW that sound across the parking lot. Very distinctive like hearing a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. You'll never mistake the sound.
this be like the most american car ive ever seen.
this ford is used as a maitainance car here in panama because of the panama canal locks, it's a maintainance car for the railway company, most cars here are japanese
This always has been, and always will be, one of my favorite vehicles ever made. I want a diesel Excursion so bad. Mark my words, I will have one some day!
Did u ever get one
Got one?
I drive a 2000 model excursion with a Triton V10 engine. I get roughly 10 mpg on average. But I love the beast and wouldn't trade it for anything!
Never been much of a Ford person but that's pretty impressive. I personally no longer have a use for big diesel trucks, always loved them though.
Pointless? Youre an idiot.
Oops. Forgot having an opinion on the Internet is frowned upon. Thanks for your opinion on why you think mine is wrong, though. It was very constructive.
LeiserGeist LMAO your profile picture xD
LeiserGeist diesel need turbo, without it they can't run properly, idiot!
Andrea Rustinelli (Accidentally posted on my friend's account before)
I never said the turbo was pointless, I said that in my opinion a turbodiesel is unnecessary for an SUV (Again, my opinion, as mentioned above). Sure if you're towing something or mudding or just a diesel person it's fine - not me.
Did calling me an idiot make you feel good though? Hope so. Have a nice day.
The 7.3 is BEAST! One of the best, if not THE best diesel Ford ever made! My dad has an '01 F-550 with that engine and that thing is a BEAST! (:
I want that thing! Beautiful sounding vehicle
I'm german, and though we build great sportscars and sedans, I agree with you! if it comes to trucks, americans are the number one!! :) what a great truck!!
Did I hear 44 gallon fuel tank?!
Yes you did. 44 Gallons!
Just why?!
Because, the excursion is a HUGE Suv! You can actually cruise 900 Miles I've heard in these monsters! Expensive to fill!
Dang
That One Ford Guy LOL no sorry. I can promise you that truck isnt getting 20MPG. I am guessing 14MPG which gives you a range of 500 miles and change.
The 7.3 Power Stroke is more commonly known as the T444E, a direct-injected turbocharged diesel V8, when it was introduced in mid-1994. No matter how many Diesel videos that Kyle starts filming, they always put a smile on my face :)
Nice dryer pipe for a tip 😂
Quentin Smith ipsueñeuwp🎂🎉🍵🍔🍟🍕🍧🍚
I just about fell out of my chair when I saw that drier pipe off of the exhaust on a $20k vehicle.
2:02 Sounds Like The Same Exact Engine On A School Bus Also Known As The T444E
i fucking love excursions
Fdfekrme
Elena,skdndmf g
meme sugar h
Same here, especially when they're diesels. Excursions are built like Super Duty trucks.
Jonathan Ashbeck hell yeah man
same here
That Suspension is epic man if I owned something like that I would feel like I am in a monster truck
suvs all there this is my favorite ... a good engine, beautiful design. every time I turn mine excites me turbodiesel engine sound
At 1:43 is the best start up I’ve heard in a while!
v8 turbo diesel hell yeh!! sounds awesome :)
Man. That underside is CLEAN!
God I wish I had the money for this truck
That, my friend, is what is called innovation, it tends to happen over a decade or so.
Such a badass truck
If I had a farm and needed to tow this would be the vehical for sure! This things a beast!
These things can get aprox. 900 miles of range on a full tank!!
2:02 cant stop repeating cause it sounds so good
Any diesel truck sounds badass!!!!❤️❤️I WANT A OLD DIESEL!!!! so bad!!!! This is sad I’m in a 4.7L 00 2nd gen dodge Dakota😔😭
nice straight piped
This is really nice. My fav thing is that its got the 7.3 in it
Dat turbo whine tho
This truck reminds me of an SUV my dad traded in for one of the newer Jeep models, 2008 Grand Cherokee, but he fitted SRT-8 shocks, headrest TVs, LED lighting, custom leather seats, sport tires, and reinforced the underside with a solid steel plate to prevent damage to the components. I miss that Jeep.
this engine sound reminds me of the city buses I ride daily, driving this is like city buses hehehe
that's cause its basically the same engine
+tyler boyer Same to me😆
I'm glad you're filming the 2002 Ford Excursion with the 7.3 Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V8. International's best Diesel engine!! It is also called the T444E! :)
Love the people who think this truck pollutes any worst then their sedans and such. Diesel exhaust contains noticeably less pollutants than gas motors. Thus why diesels don't require emissions testing.
Nothing makes a song sound better than having a 7.4L diesel idling behind it.
44 gallon fuel tank.................holy fuck lets say $3.50 a gallon for diesel then thats $154 to fill it up........fuck me running.....
AJ Ocean LOL Yup!
AJ Ocean Well, i live in Finland. 44 gallons of diesel would cost ~210€.
157 dollars does not sound that bad anymore 😁
You have to admit, this is nice to the eyes.
this thing is a beast!
Right on, man!
Keep making your videos as your life changes. You are awesome. whenever I want to see a certain car, I always go to your videos first. you are always accurate with your information too.
A man's suv
Oh boy, i love that turbo whistling ! :O
I love mi excursion 6.8 v10 haters
+Alex Lara The V10 was badass too I love the Ford V10
+That One Ford Guy So do I. They need to make more of them.
Lucky bastard!
the profile picture kind of fits the comment
I love the sound of DIESEL!
No wonder the world is running out of oil.
used engine oil=recyclable???
Wrong answer.
The US alone has THREE BILLION barrels of oil locked up underground. Then we have the Monterey Shale that's another one trillion.
How many wells do you think are capped in Alaska? Trillion barrels easily.
We have more oil than what we know to do with.
Soo glad to see that you are doing late model cars again kyle! keep up the awesome work, and congrats again on graduation!
The ultimate compensation truck!!
Maybe with that suspension set up. But the Excursion in general are great for towing the boat while hauling the family down to Florida. I know because i owned 1.
Is it bad I love this thing... Usually I hate lifted anything, but I just love this lol!
I don't care for excursions (especially this one), but I have mad respect for the powerstroke 7.3s.
So glad your uploading videos frequently again! Keep up the good work!! :)
This is what you call a beast. If I was driving that I would feel invincible.
Straight pipe Powerstrokes (especially the 6.0s) are one of the best sounding vehicles, IMO.
My friend has this, the bass in his is wicked!
That truck is a beast!
the legendary 7.3l v8 power stroke
I remember reading one quip stating Ford started with the Explorer, then created the Expedition, followed up with the Excursion, and would no doubt soon release an Excavator.
Love your comment. Very good of you to not let prejudice/bias drive the way you think.
I'd love to have this truck for a little while!
i'd buy this car in a heartbeat
the 6.8 V10 is a beast engine!!!:)
I've always loved these
That excursion is a beast!
Just over 122,000 miles lol
Behold, the legendary 7.3L 1,222,000 king
THE SUV of all SUVs.
It's close of what I requested so than you so much.
My dad loved his. Gas payment was a bitch through. Awesome truck
A lot of Europeans who don't know what this thing is capable of, stick with your cars, this monster is too much for you to handle ;)
Me and my mom and her boyfriend have a red F250 it is a 2002 model with that very same motor. It runs fantastic it is in great shape.😂
Oh, my God, I love this truck model.
Too bad they do not have them here in Brazil.
But even if I had I would not have money to buy one of these.
Good video.
This is a perfect example of what won’t pass inspection in Massachusetts
Merica. I feel that one word accurately describes this vehicle. No but seriously this SUV is awesome.
Only 250hp but with a few simple mods that will make some big jumps. The numbers you wanna be looking at for diesels is the torque and this 7.3L power stroke puts out 550ft-lbs which is huge and epic for towing
its how hes been since nearly day one. most of us are used to it. and know who it is by that opener alone, also the "without further adoo" etc. were all used to it :) most of the time we have a wtf? when he opens up a video without those lines
Ahh, gotta love that turbo whistle
I really hope you try to do more custom cars! im dying for a lifted chevy tahoe video! awesome video kyle!
I wonder how much fun this would be to drive
That... that is a LOUD engine
im not an idiot and im don't with this petty lil kid arguing it gets no where I try to be chill with everybody idc if I seen you physically or not. so have a nice day man. be successful and keep grinding!
Kyle, a few notations The Excursion was based off the Super Duty Line of Trucks platform not just the F-250
Judging by the leaf spring spacers in back (rather than a proper suspension lift), immaculately clean underside and the mudders mounted on chrome wheels, I'm guessing this Excursion was a pavement princess.
2:25 I like that whistle start up
The truck is massive
I always dreamed of ownig one these mansions on wheels! Great find Dr. Saabkyle!
Dream truck right here.
that's so cool, I live in wingate and I never see any youtube videos made around here and I saw the building and i was like "that looks familiar" and then you said Monroe.
Thats how I feel. There just big ol beasts.
You gotta love that magic school bus engine!!!
1:51 that’s what a real mans car should sound like. A big rumbly diesel powerstroke. Not a puny and disgraceful 2JZ
Hmmm...good point. Suppose he may be saying that in trying to compensate for the subtraction/addition of options. I would think, however, that the blurb he gets on the particular vehicle he is reviewing (at least the brand new ones) would have exact figures. FYI, curb weight always includes a full tank of fuel.
Whats going on kyle, I enjoyed this video about the ford excursion, its been my favorite vehicle for a long time. But wat I would like to see is a full in depth look at the gmc explorer express conversion van. Thank in advance
Got to remember. It's including just sitting there idling in the average. I've seen them get upwards of 18-20 on the highway which isn't bad considering the size of the vehicle.
Nice job Kyle
That thing's a beast xD Thanks for the tour :)
I don't know about u but I think it looks badass like that
Listen too that turbo going off! ♡
