The Ford 4-AT Trimotor is an aviator’s dream machine: an all-metal, high-wing, three-engine passenger, and cargo aircraft. Built ruggedly, it can operate out of some of the world’s most austere airfields, and due to its renowned forgivingness in the air, the Trimotor elevates pilot confidence to new heights.
For the next week, this classic is available for FREE to simmers! From June 23 to June 30 at 11:59 PM PDT, it can be downloaded at no charge from the in-sim Marketplace. From July 1 onward, it will be available for USD $14.99.

Got to fly this plane IRL last year. Absolute beast. The controls were super heavy and it needed A LOT of rudder movement to stay coordinated with that small tail

Despite the audio issues on the live stream, bringing us the Trimotor is pretty cool! it's basically the Fokker F.VII's American brother which had a bit of a turbulent life before the DC-3 came.

I started up MSFS not knowing this was out. Saw “free airplane” on the main page and snagged it immediately. Can’t say no to a free plane, especially not one this iconic. I remember flying it in older MSFS versions, and felt its lack. Glad to have it again!
I loaded up the float variant (I like seaplanes) and took it up for a spin around Seattle (lots of seaplane bases there). That engine noise is almost literally musical-either that or they were playing period appropriate music because I almost felt like I heard jazz a few times. The plane flies very well in my opinion. Stable, but still controllable. It was also one of the easier and smoother water landings I’ve had, and I think it was because it handles really well at low speeds, despite,from what I could tell, not having flaps. Certainly no speed demon or stunt plane, but that’s not what it’s for.

Everytime i see this plane all i think about is that indian Jones move "were not sinking, were crashing!"
Does the float variant work well for you? For mine, engine 2 and 3 simply dont work. No matter if I spawn with engines running on the runway (they turn initially but will stop) or try to start cold & dark (then they simply wont start). Its just the float version, the other two work fine
For me the engines were fine. I spawned on the "runway" with them running, and they never stopped.
Every landing I do bounces and says I crashed into the water after the 3rd bounce. Speed seems slow enough, 60 - 65 knots (69 - 75 mph) into calm headwind, slight flare or level with the water, calm water (protected bay or lake around Victoria BC). I have hundreds of landings with DHC-2 on floats, also some landings with Cessna, Cub on floats and Goose, Hughes Herc flying boats. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I first saw this plane in Mafia game released in 2003. And look at this now, wow! Might get this one

@@motskater Bingo. The closest description of how it sounds is being in formation with three 985 powered Stearmans. It is LOUD.
Can we get update videos to the 747 and 787? After the aau2 update they seem closer to study level and it’s more complicated now to startup and go ensuring proper navigation

The model looks kina off to me. How come the cockpit windows look so much taller than irl?
I`ve seen the same thing it looks like a stubby nose somhow even tho the cockpit is looking shorter and taller on the windows. and definetly not the right shape on the rear glass pane of the cockpit. ive replied in the forum topic comparing a picture from the sim and reality... it looks way off

Damn....your project are great but.......so sad tht you sucks about FS2024 annoucement, which should be at the same time stand-alone and a commercial update for FS2020.... I guess this will be the same engine and assets between FS2020 et FS2024 but we will have to pay twice for the same thing with more activities and download 250Go again....

Terrible addon. It can't start so all it is is eye candy on the ground. Even with getting it for free I feel like I wasted money on it.

I found that this plane have bigger cockpit windows, at first glance I found something weird with the size place and proportions. In the real life are much more smaller.
