"Fighter Bomber" both on Amiga and PC, and F-29 Retaliator were iconic as well at the time. My Amiga came with F/A-18 Interceptor, I loved it. I also loved how Wings! was hard drive installable on the Amiga
You missed several titles here... Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer, Birds of Prey, all the editions of X-Plane (you mentioned only the XI, where are the other 10?), Comanche Maximum Overkill, Fighter Bomber and many others. I understand that to cover them all it would take a very long video, but there are some very important and famous titles that have been left out.

Also I would divide games into simulators (DCS, LockOn, LOMAC, Hot Cliffs 1/2/3, IL-2 series, etc) and arcades (Ace Combat, X-Plane, etc)
I remember my father starting off with FS for the C-64 back in 86. Today, 2024, he is still playing, with the latest version of the game at 79.. He has so many modes, controls and money invested in that game. Nice to be retired with plenty of time on your hands..

Falcon 3 was the first flight sim I ever bought! That was 32 years ago and I’m still flying the F16 but in VR on DCS now! Just a small jump in immersion 😂
My first sim was A.C.E. on C64, then we had Red Baron pre-installed on a PC a family friend built -- but Falcon 3.0 was the first sim I bought with my own money too! Pocket money or Christmas money, can't remember which 😅

I was born in 86 and the first time ever I played a sim was in 98 . My dad had bought the ADF F-22 and Jane’s fighters anthology, those games was my introduction in the combat sim genre .It’s amazing to me that simulations were around even before I was born and we have come a long way since then .
Nice video, but I'm genuinely surprised to not see even one game from the "Jane's" collection on PC... especially stuff like Longbow 2 and WWII Fighters.
Great compilation but missed some essentials giving to much space to IL-2. I played a great combat simulation: TFX (Eurofighter EF-2000, F-22 Raptor and AWACS)
I almost got my Dad to buy us a Lynx for Warbirds alone. He had his PPL when younger, and had to let it go later as it became too expensive of hobby to upkeep, but we was always fascinated by flight simulators. When I showed him Warbirds running on a Lynx at a display unit in some game store, he was blown away...but not quite enough. He made a deal where if I save up half the money, my parents would kick in the second half, but...money burns holes in the pockets of a young teenager.
DCS must have been tricky to figure out where to put in the list. Technically, it's much older than 2022, but it's been upgraded so much that it's almost like a whole new game.

Pacific fighters (it was called Pearlharbor locally) and X-Plane 7 was my first interaction with flying in general. Landing B-25 on carrier or flying around world with SR-71 - teens were "eventfull" despite living in rural area without any access to internet (except short periods at school ) - only in late 00s area got "up to modern standards".
Gunship 2000 was released in 1991, and there were a 2 versions of MiG-29, one for PC and one on the Mega Drive... Loving the nostalgia though!! I started with MSFS 3.😊
YES. You never disappoint. Probably my new favorite vid of yours seeing as "Ace of Aces" (best game ever) as well as Microsoft Flight Sim for the C64 and MS-Dos are probably my earliest memories of "video games" I talked my grandfather into buying a beefy PC he didn't need just so I could upgrade to the DOS version. Prerequisite for every kid was to fly into the Twin Towers in NYC (too soon?)
Fighter Ace II and III was my first experiences with online combat and I was pretty good at it, esp chewing up the rookies with the BF-110. I also remember when FA 3 had free events and sometimes for a time free servers with basic aircraft. That was a fun time. Otherwise most of my flying has been done Single Player up to DCS :P Was Hornet 3.0 in there or did I miss it? Also missing the Strike Fighter series with TK trying to keep the spirit of the easily accessable and moddable flight sim alive :)

I am missing Microprose F-15E Strike Eagle III, DID EF2000, Janes simulations (F-15E, F/A-18, USAF and IAF), and Razorworks EECH. Some pretty big and important militairy simulations IMO.
Some good examples, but seemed to favor arcade titles like Ace Combat... Missing all the Janes titles, MS CFS, MS CFS Pacific, Microprose F-15 strike Eagle, to name a few instrumental titles
Missing the Sierra/Dynamix games. A-10 Tank Killer, Red Barron, Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe. And some other Microprose games namely the B-17 games. Also the Janes series of sims. And DCS did not come out in 2022, it came out in 2008 it's simply still updated and maintained. But then again so are many of these other games. The IL2 Great Battles games, Flying Circus...
As someone else's Chuck Yeager flight simulator as the best. But while it might be impossible for the Creator to find, the KayPro my friend Sander had had an excellent Flight Simulator, although a little unrealistic in that you could switch planes mid-flight if I recall. Imagine going at Mach 2 in an SR-71 and then going into a Sopwith Camel. It did indicate that the plane was literally torn apart.
One of the best PC air game ever made. Such a overtimed game with amazing mechanics, even damage zones etc. But there were no campaign like in other games.

Chuck Yeager was my absolute favorite for several years. I also went on several Military ride in simulators, but on very easy modes.

I'm so lucky i witnessed this all. I started with F-15 Strike Eagle on Atari and now i play DCS. What a huge leap in technology during my life.
I started off with sub-logic flight simulator 2 on the C64 and now play MSFS2020 in VR. Really seems like what was science fiction has become reality.
I think falcon 4.0 still to this day is one beautiful game it’s the best looking for 1998 and still holds up in 2023 with bms updates

I certainly played some of them since the 90s but I still got parts that I missed as a kid. With Steam and GOG parts of it have been covered.
Looking at the PC ones, it seems most of them would have required a beasty PC for the year they were released.

You could have dropped the Arcade games for things like: Red Baron, Aces over Europe, Aces over the Pacific and Microsoft Combat Flight Sim.

I am missing Microprose F-15E Strike Eagle III, DID EF2000, Janes simulations (F-15E, F/A-18, USAF and IAF), and Razorworks EECH. Some pretty big and important militairy simulations IMO.
Huh, neither of the flight sims I played the most were here. "F-19 Stealth Fighter" and "Red Baron II/Red Baron 3D"
No mention of early XPlane titles, P3D, blazing angels, or HAWX...
Some good examples, but seemed to favor arcade titles like Ace Combat... Missing all the Janes titles, MS CFS, MS CFS Pacific, Microprose F-15 strike Eagle, to name a few instrumental titles
Missing the Sierra/Dynamix games. A-10 Tank Killer, Red Barron, Aces of the Pacific, Aces over Europe. And some other Microprose games namely the B-17 games. Also the Janes series of sims. And DCS did not come out in 2022, it came out in 2008 it's simply still updated and maintained. But then again so are many of these other games. The IL2 Great Battles games, Flying Circus...
As someone else's Chuck Yeager flight simulator as the best. But while it might be impossible for the Creator to find, the KayPro my friend Sander had had an excellent Flight Simulator, although a little unrealistic in that you could switch planes mid-flight if I recall. Imagine going at Mach 2 in an SR-71 and then going into a Sopwith Camel. It did indicate that the plane was literally torn apart.
And no mentioned of Jane's Combat Simulators or Commanche

One of the best PC air game ever made. Such a overtimed game with amazing mechanics, even damage zones etc. But there were no campaign like in other games.
