Hey Alan , seems like a good time to catch up on some sleep, I imagine that you must have the best collection of fishing tackle in the USA, I would be interested in seeing how you keep things organized or how you prepare for a day on the water targeting whatever. Thanks for all that you do and share.
My wife laughed at me when she read your comment! Because I'm not good at organizing my tackle as I have more than most tackle stores. I have one bedroom full and most of my garage is also full as I don't like throwing anything away. Sometimes it takes me hours to find stuff. But one day now that I'm retired I'm going to go thru all this stuff and see what I have lol
Everyone has a knot that works for them as there are lots of different knots. I don't have any issues with catching grass when I burn the end of the braid plus it will never slip out
Super appreciate this bonus edition! So honest. That’s why I watch and am a long time subscriber. Also thanks for helping me out with electronics. I’ll be seeing you after installing AT! Appreciate the tip on the Alberto. I’ll be ordering that knot tool.
I didnt mind havin to wade through all the people millin about and talkin to ya at the ISE thanks for bringing the AFO hoodie and t-shirt to me, In the meantime try chicken soup and get som e rest for when conditions get better and your back out there doing what you do! Tight Lines Rodfather!
NO when taking out the lead in leadcore line is so you can slide the mono into the hollow leadcore and just tie a coupe over hand knots no tool needed.
Another thumbs vid even tho fishing is very tough. Definitely feeling FORMO for unable to attend the ISE and talk to you. Love the Alberto, cept once in awhile it just comes undo with very little stress. The gizmo will definitely will help eliminate that problem. Thanks for sharing your wisdom..
When using heavy line like 15# test and higher its easy to tie the alberto knot. Doing lite braid to 6-8# leader it is harder but with the Uncle Jim knot tool its very easy. One thing I've always done is burn the tag end of the braid and its NEVER failed me.
Hi Alan. Do you have video of you at the tank showing the blade runner product techniques. I didnt go to the show. So for us who didnt go would appreciate it you have ISE vidos to post.
Sorry we didn't video it this time. I've done videos on all his lures and you can watch them on YT. Just did the new jighead with a 5" swimbaits a few weeks ago. Also did on his Flutterspoon, jigging spoon on bass and one on stripers, A rig on stripers so I covered most all his lures as they work!
Good morning Alan. Hope you’re all rested up. I have a question. The bass it the big demonstration tank were big. I was told they shocked the around P.P.M marina. Do they take them back??? I watched a tournament one weekend. They said they would drive the fish one mile away from B.N.W. Resort where the tournament was held. I was Watching them…. And that’s why I’m asking. Will they return those fish back to P.P.M. marina area?
No we did not video it this time sorry. When I'm on the tank everyone can see how the fish react to the way I show how to retrieve lures. I used to record it but this time we didn't.
I looked for you on Sunday. We found Cooper. We Talked him into a corner. He finally said. Have you seen the Big Honda. He looked as tired as you do right now.
@@AlanFong the other guy was at the tank. Informative fisherman. Not my cup of tea. He is good. Really Big fat bass in that tank. I’m guessing 10lbs one or more of them.
I saw you and my wife was like, dude! There’s Alan! And you had a buncha fans around. I wanted to shake your hand and get a pic but I felt like it would be childish I suppose. Anyway, big fan of yours. I’ll see you again some day. Thanks for gettin me hooked on fishin again Alan.
No problem and lots fans took pictures with me as I don't know why? lol Yea you should said something, as I like meeting people that have the same passion in fishing as me. So next time you see me on the water or at an event come say hi.
There are so many knots and they all probably work good. I learned the Alberto knot over 15 years ago and it hasn't failed me once. I don't think many people set as hard as I do. Doing martialarts when I was younger I learned to use my wrists to snap for more power. I'll look up the FG knot anyway as it won't hurt to learn. thanks
That's an albright knot. Good knot
Just ordered 2 of them. One for home and 1 for the boat. Another great tip from Fong Outdoors!
They work really good and there handy tools

Oh but I will do a video on how I prepare for the next fishing trip. Thanks for the input
@@AlanFong it would be good to get some footage of that.... so that way we won't feel so bad
Good day Alan, hope you're having an amazing week bud. Just wanna say thank you again sir we appreciate the weekly report as always bud.
Thanks, you too!
Blood knots will always be king since the tag ends come out of the middle of the knot where they won't collect debris.
Everyone has a knot that works for them as there are lots of different knots. I don't have any issues with catching grass when I burn the end of the braid plus it will never slip out
This looks like the RP knot (royal Polaris knot) that I've been using for years. It's on u tube. Never lost a fish because of thatcknot
Everyone has their favorite knot and usually stays with it if it works for them. Thats why their are so many knots and a lot are similar
Thank you kind sir
You're welcome

Appreciate the tip on the Alberto. I’ll be ordering that knot tool.
That tool works great with light lines
Agreed! This is the best knot ever.
There are lots of knots that work great and the alberto hasn't failed me yet so I'm still using it all the time.
I was trying the f.g knot.
That one is different. Alberto
I haven't tried the FG knot because I've been using the Alberto for over 15 yrs and it hasn't failed me once so why change?

@@AlanFong Went to commanche lake wearin your AFO hoodie it did bring me luck caught some nice trout
Alan, will the tool work on lead line after removing 6 inches or so of the lead? Thanks in advance!
NO when taking out the lead in leadcore line is so you can slide the mono into the hollow leadcore and just tie a coupe over hand knots no tool needed.
Had to buy that tool. Out on the tuna in SD and tired of chasing deck hands to get the perfect knot
It will work but is is made for 20# or less. thicker line will be harder to hold on the peg but it will work
Another thumbs vid even tho fishing is very tough. Definitely feeling FORMO for unable to attend the ISE and talk to you. Love the Alberto, cept once in awhile it just comes undo with very little stress. The gizmo will definitely will help eliminate that problem. Thanks for sharing your wisdom..

thanks Alan, will try the burn technique. going to try Berryessa tomorrow.@@AlanFong
for added help, on the braid use a drop of avid anglers solution , glue or ( super glue) to cover the braid, .
Yes it does help but burning the tag works great also
Sorry I missed you, never made it to ISE , work took me away. I will be in touch regarding my pork bait products.
OK no problem as you can contact me at alanfongoutdoors@gmail.com

@@AlanFong That will work for me. Ive seen those videos. At least 3 times each! Lol. I just don't want to miss out on some secret ninja technique. 😆
Thanks!
Thank You!
It was nice seeing you
Yes I meet a lot of people at the ISE Show walking down the isles. Nice not being in the FW booth.
How long does it take to get to west sac port from arrowhead? Are stripers in there and can i spoon for them in port?
From the mouth of Miner n the port it's about 25 miles give or take. But when the Sac river gets real muddy thats where the stripers go!
I'd like to see some of the blade runner gear
Best go to Tackle Warehouse and search Bladerunner tackle they carry most all of his gear
If your in Sacramento try Freeport Bait and Tackle. He has the largest selection around town.
Are light rods viable for striper fishing? Or are medium/medium heavy rods better?
Depends on what I'm using, so on my 5" swimbaits I like a 7'2" to 7'6" Med action rod. On like S Waver 160 I use a 7'6" MH action rod.

Fishing at camanche has been on fire from the bank
South shore or North Shore Camachi
My buddy fishing the North shore. But they have been stocking the south shore pond a lot.
Both shores for me. I don’t like the pond. To much pressure
I can’t tie that knot. Drives me crazy Alan.
with this tool you will be a pro
What tide website do you use?
I use Tide Graph on my phone
