I still need to fight a certain fire-breathing dino. That'll have to wait until after RE3 though, haha. Although I've also been working on a certain blue haired monster too.
I aspire to solo every monster with my Lance as my goal. Of all the weapons I think Lance is the most amazing of the bunch! And let's be honest, lightbreak Lance looks amazing!
Hey man i just started using lance and you are my inspiration. You're so good and clean using it. Just wanted to ask, is this build good for general hunting/all monsters or should i opt for elemental instead? Thank u and keep these awesome runs coming!
It's very good for traditional hunts as Guard 3 works for the majority of the roster, and this set has high damage. Guard 5 is better against Ruiner, (F.) Rajang, Yian Garuga, R. Brachy, and Shara, but otherwise there are ways around not using it against them as well. Teostra and the Rath family are blast resistant, so keep that in mind.
Would an explosive safi lance be better? I just picked learning lance, and I wanna be able to do stuff like this someday. I still play my main weapon, hammer. But I wanna know the intriciacies of lance.
R. Brachy's lance is a tiny bit stronger depending on what jewels you have. Fatalis outclasses them both, so I recommend going for that. As for a good pointer to learn lance, you can't go wrong with either of these two guides: m.th-cam.com/video/T6x4inXgCMk/w-d-xo.html m.th-cam.com/video/hPxiUf0tUFk/w-d-xo.html
They both definitely have their uses, which I like. If something does unavoidable chip or drains your health, then Resentment tends to have the edge. Otherwise, the slight increase in damage/affinity from Agitator 7 stands out.
Hey , i just started lance, i am mr 450 and have good expirence in mhwi and wanted ask if i should use this build for casual hunts and for Multiplayer. Love your runs !
It should be fine casually. For multiplayer, it depends on how well you feel vs the monster. If you have some issues in a particular one, you can always trade some attack boosts for health boosts.
May i ask how u got that high an attack? Also is this blast Lance better than safi one? I dont play world but my brother does. I used to play 2g and p3. Ur runs are awsome. Lance love
It depends on how you're going to use it. For Resentment builds, Safi's is generally better; while R. Brachy's tends to fare well with Peak Performance. There will also be certain situations where choosing one or the other will be better, such as sharpness management, levels of guard, etc. As for my attack, it's stacked fairly high thanks to Agitator 7 (28 true raw) + Attack 5 (15 true raw) + Peak Performance 3 (20 true raw). My weapon also has an attack aug + health aug to keep Peak Performance active.
@@KCGemini oh ok, thank u. Resentment is the skill that raises attack when u have red health bar? Wouldnt this go well with safis armor that reduces health when u attack? Sorry for the noobish questions:p U play perfectly. Are u a Fan of earlier games too, like mhfu? When did u start?
@@Sarissa99 Correct. I started with the original MH on the PS1, but I didn't get too into it until MHFU. After that, it became one of my favorite series!

@PGee TV Sort of. In that case, you can block that attack forward, but you'll get knocked back. Some attacks are blocked backwards such as that one because then the 'knockback' will actually send you towards the monster.
I think this video really encapsulates why I hate kushala daora so much. His moveset is so annoying, with large movements that make it hard to stay at his head and knockbacks that send you flying as well as the phase where he goes into the air and stays there for God knows how long, and when you get good at the fight all that really means is you triplock him with head damage for the entirety of the fight and hope that in the 5 seconds he's out of that triplock, he doesn't decide to start flying again and waste your time. Horribly designed fight IMO. On a more relevant note, is the attack augment on the weapon better than the two levels of attack boost? You should be able to go affinity on the weapon instead and have attack boost 7 to compensate, shouldn't you? I suppose the raw is likely the same due to OG giving you 1 extra raw with the attack augment, and the extra element augment you can fit in doesn't add up to an extra blast 90% of the time, so maybe it doesn't matter.
My best run I had, he only flew once and I knocked him out of the air. Then afterwards (no joke), he proceeded to run 5 times in a row, and then managed to jump towards the lower center area; which causes it to exit the room immediately. The map is also a FPS nightmare near the crystals and causes dropped inputs like nobody's business. It's just a bad time in general. -- As for the attack aug vs crit/element, the difference in damage is negligible. If an extra blast triggered, then that would be quite a massive difference. Once again you helped me min-max a set to its fullest potential Sheffi!
@@KCGemini Yeah, I really hate how even in this "really good" run, Kushala spent almost a minute and a half Kelbi-ing around the map. Combine that with Kushala being my biggest roadblock back when I was new, and I really hate this guy. On this run specifically the extra blast wouldn't have done anything, since you got a blast proc moments before killing him, but it might make sure you get that last blast proc with a bit more consistency. For fun, though, I ran the numbers, and I'm pretty sure that with affinity/element you can get a 6th blast proc against ruiner nergi, whereas without it it's unlikely (the difference is an average of 15 hits for the 6th proc, enough for variance to affect it one way or the other). I did a rough count of how many hits you had in your latest ruiner nergi speedrun, and I got somewhere around 160 pokes, where the number of hits needed on average to proc the 6th blast on him with 340 blast on lance is 162. An extra blast proc isn't a "massive" difference by any means, I mean it's 2-3 pokes, but for an optimization this small that can certainly matter to shave seconds I suppose. Glad to be of help, I can't speedrun worth a damn but at least I'm decent at numbers. Hell, I'm still trying to get my gold rathian time under 7 minutes.
I'm sure the best run for this will have Kushala dead without leaving for its home, which is my goal after I get some RE3 in. All the flying and moving does make that rather hard; but with Kushala, it is what it is. In the end, it's all just practice. Before I started Iceborne, I haven't played Lance in over a year and I was pretty potatoes with it. Consistency is key. I'll keep those numbers in mind too.
