here we see a demonstration on how KC's patented "blue lion paste" is made *from scratch* with only the *freshest* ingredients. but seriously, that mid-air knockdown was insanely lucky. usually you only get the KO from the horn break!
I can't argue with the luck part. That + the ending made me break into the 5'0X range. Before, it was hard to imagine the run getting this far, but that is the beauty of randomness.
2:24 you love to see it. Gorgeous run as always, congrats on the time! It feels like you're one frame too early for OFG on like every attack in this run. Your lack of greed is admirable
Beautiful run, KC! Your counters in this hunt are pure bliss to watch. Specifically, your counter to refresh OFG at 1:29 is a demonstration of world-class reflexes. I also love how when Lunastra is charging up its mini nova (1:37 and 4:12), you perform the exact same charging action with your counter. The way you hold out the counter and enter power guard at the very last second has so much cinematic value; it wouldn't be as visually impressive if you entered power guard right away. Even more impressive is your ability to anticipate her charge coming up, because at 1'37 it looks like you entered counter before she even entered the animation. _Wow_ is all I can say to that. P.S.: It's hilarious how Lunastra's tail moves at 30 FPS. It's like the tail is in its own world, which I guess is accurate because of how much power and range it has.
Now that you mention it, I can't unsee it. That tail framerate is *choppy* compared to normal movements; especially at 2:09. On another note, I'm looking forward to your next AT Velka run!
man, I was interested in Lance before I moved onto MHRise, but seeing the return to world after the MH Wilds announcement, I'm thinking about going back with a new game and going full lance! Your gameplay has been super helpful and motivating!
@@KCGemini BTW, what's your next run(?) I'm still keen to speedrun in Iceborne too, but my PS4 need to be repaired. 🙀 Once my PS4 finished, I'll try to speedrun KT or Raging Brachy perhaps.
@@dcshiori I wanted to do AT Velka again, but after seeing Alex's time, I'm content on choosing something else for now. Raging Brachy was my next choice, haha.
@@KCGemini then me after seeing KC's Raging Brachy time, I'm gonna choose something else. 😹 I did 6'21 TA Wiki duo with Yama (Lance + Gunlance), but yeah still lot room of improvements, either duo or solo. I played casually without script on KT.nyahaha
I did want to stop with a solid 5'1X, but this run changes the possibilities. On another note, I've been casually fighting AT Velkas because of your run. I'm super rusty, but it's still fun!
@@KCGemini Nice! I saw your other comment about the dunk being essential at this point, and I can see that. You got it basically right as she left the ground in this one, which I imagine is a pain in the ass to replicate. After taking a break for a couple days, I think I might try to push AT Velk down to sub-6'40. I can switch to Handi 4 with AB 7, and with some good RNG and execution, it should be reasonably doable. We'll see. 🤓
Had to come here as Luna was my biggest ick in this game and the only thing that really makes me want to turn it off but seeing how it's done it's just clear I need more practice and to use a sealing weapon. She simply didn't get to play the game and that's what the stupid blue cat deserves.
Surprisingly, Elderseal has little effect on Tempered Luna, as she can rapidly power up her aura level if RNG is not in your favor. She managed to supernova at 2:24, but I staggered her at a crucial moment due to luck. Otherwise, she is really at her 'best' when she's not capable of doing much else, haha.
I love the new cool moves, but I hate that catch claw thing? This is the main reason I only played the based game, even though Gaben tempted me with the sales and all!
If you don't mind using mods, there is an overhaul to the game called ICE which removes the need for using the clutch claw to tenderize monster parts. It works for the entirety of Iceborne, so you can have a similar experience to base World without its jank.
A speedrunner that cuts of a tail is a good monsterhunter
This is actually amazing Lance play, holy moly. *applause*
That's crazy timing, you blocked every single hit with your shield, bro this is the best lance fight I saw in a while.
This is so satisfying to watch! I’m glad you’re still having fun with these, and I know sub 5 is coming
It will be very hard, but I'll do my best.
I struggle against Luna, and this has been a treat to watch. Perfection
The lance is seriously underrated.
I just started learning lance and this video has been eye opening. man lance is so fun and reactive, it's like i'm playing Sekiro or something

I was feeling good about my casual 11 minute run, but you are a god sir
I wouldn't go that far. It's all just practice, in the end.
11 minutes for Luna is a very good time, especially if you aren't using endgame weapons.

Luna has me trained good. I've had too many runs end with sudden heat waves just because I wanted an extra hit.

What a beauty!
that tail cut, damn, it was perfect
Truly speechless
Thank you!

Amazing
Sub 5 Hypeee! Ganbatte KC!
It'll be quite hard as a dunk with good RNG patterns becomes more and more necessary.

Lance is still such a cool weapon. I can only do about 7m runs against these monsters, and Lunastra is so much more annoying than Teostra :D good job.
I've always found Luna to be more fun to fight than Teostra, but I know that she has *quite* a reputation.
i hope someday i can play like this
It's all just practice. If you put the time into it, then there's no limit to one's abilities.
