    Tube work is the hardest stuff to work with especially for someone who hasnt messed with it.

      Truth. It was a crash course, but I'm learning.

      Thanks! I wanted to record all the steps be a use I hadn't ever done something like this and wanted to document the process. Turned out to be well worth it to do it myself. This was a really fun project and came out great.

      Thanks! This was my first welding project and it was a blast! Still learning. Appreciate the feedback.

    Welded my around the same time as yours. Used an arc welder. Much messier but got the job done lol. But I did have a weird gap at the bottom of the bumper between two plates. The single piece front plate, and the base plate to be exact.

      Props to you for doing it with an arc welder. Hopefully the gap wasn’t too big you couldn’t fill it. I definitely had some weird overhang on the back of the wings that I spent a fair amount of time filling in and grinding to make it all flush.

      @@hayseedfarm it was too big a gap🥲. About 1/4" gap

      If your buddy already knows how to weld, should be a cake walk. Hope you have a good time with it.

    How did you paint back in the tight space that’s only accessible through the holes in the front plate for the shackles?

    • @hayseedfarm
      @hayseedfarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually painted that before I put on the main plate that wraps around the front. I painted the section on the inside before adding that piece so that it was mostly painted before being covered. Then I touched it up when I painted the rest.

      @@hayseedfarm I wish I had that kind of foresight.. thanks! I’m painting it now and did not do that.

    Hi nice video. How long did it take you to finish the welding

    • @hayseedfarm
      @hayseedfarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did this over a long weekend. I had now experience with welding so there was a big learning curve the first day, but it's a very straightforward project once you get your settings dialed in.

    How’s it holding up? I’m about order one and it’s going to be my first real welding project. I think I will get it without the tubes just to keep it simple.

      It's holding up great! It's held up well to regular duty around the farm. This was also my first welding project. The directions Coastal Off-road provides are great. The one thing thing I would recommend is plenty of abrasives for your grinder. It really helps to finish off the welds and get everything smoother out for painting. It's true what they say about grinders and paint....🤣

    Looking good! What was the wait time on shipping from coastal?

    • @hayseedfarm
      @hayseedfarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! For the front bumper, it only took a week to ship and i had everything I about 7 business days. When I ordered the rear bumper and slider parts, that took closer to 15 days to get to me. However, I'm pretty sure these are cut to order, so a majority of that time is them cutting and bending the pieces.

    I could sure use those stock bumper parts if you feel like selling? Hit ice the other night and wiped out my front end.

      I’m reading this comment and just 3 months ago.. I was driving my 06 sport and a tree had fallen into the road. I hit, and split in half a 2.5ft thick pine tree. Wiped out my front pass fender and front bumper entirely and that was it.. and a pass headlight which I since have gotten halos. These trucks are tough and I had no airbag deployment. Still my dd

    Looks good. Also looks heavy 🤔

    • @hayseedfarm
      @hayseedfarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's pretty heavy but not too bad. Definitely heavier than stock, but I could manage to install it myself once it was all together.
