Broken Cruise Control and Entertainment Controls - 2014 Ford Explorer - Clock Spring Replacement
While fixing the 2014 Ford Explorer's stuck steering link, I totally hyperextended the clock spring (DOH!). This caused my airbag light to turn on and the steering wheel entertainment controls and cruise controls to stop working. The clock spring was easy enough to get to, but it's always best to practice safety and take extra precautions when dealing with airbags. Once the clock spring was replaced, the cruise control and entertainment controls were working and I had no airbag SRS or check engine lights on the dashboard.
Also, if you know the difference between the Ford clock spring with the heated steering wheel and the one without, let me know in the comments below. The heated steering wheel clock spring was $40 cheaper than the regular clock spring. I bought the regular clock spring because my vehicle doesn't have a heated wheel, but if both parts fit I'm sure other people would want to know.

Ford Explorer with Jerky Steering - Fixing a stuck steering universal joint on a 2014 Explorer
มุมมอง 9Kปีที่แล้ว
Our 2014 Ford Explorer's steering wheel started sticking when turning the wheel. I originally thought it was the Electronic Power Assist unit going bad. These are expensive and difficult to install. After doing some research, I found out that the universal joint that connects the steering shaft to the EAP shaft can stick, causing the steering to bind intermittently. The solution was to disconne...
DIY Off Road Bumper for the 4th Gen 4runner - Coastal Offroad DIY Plate Bumper Kit
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The front bumper on the 4th Gen Toyota 4Runner leaves a lot to be desired. It's got a weird underbite look and there's not a lot of room for improvement in stock form. So we decided to tear the whole thing off and install a DIY bumper on the 4Runner. This bumper comes as a kit from Coastal Offroad (www.coastaloffroad.com/) and it made for a fun and easy first fabrication project. I had literall...
O2 Sensor Replacement on the 4th Gen 4Runner - Fixes for P0156 and other Oxygen Sensor error Codes
มุมมอง 7K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Ever since I've owned the 2003 4Runner, there has been a check engine light for a bad oxygen sensor. Oxygen sensors do go bad and I have replaced O2 sensors in the 2014 Ford Explorer and 2005 Kia Spectra. The O2 sensor measures the portions of oxygen compared to other gas or liquids in the exhaust. This data is sent back to the engine's computer to make adjustments to the air-fuel ratio to keep...

Replacing the Cabin Air Filter - 2003 Toyota 4Runner 4th Generation

Cabin Air Filters aren't the coolest part to change out, but they can have a huge impact on the operation of your heating and cooling system. The good news is that swapping out the filter is a piece of cake. On this car, it only r...

I got gas, and then my car would crank, but not start after that fill up. Since then I have tried to figure out everything on my own because I can’t afford to get it towed but the issue I believe is this solenoid. So my question is, could a bad solenoid cause a vehicle to dump fuel out straight to the ground when filling?

Tried that. Didn’t work. Maybe something to do with the part. Do you buy motorcraft bushings? From the other comments on here, I gather there is a split in how easy or difficult it is to install this bushing, ranging from a couple of minutes with a dead blow hammer to never attempt it again and buy the whole control arm.
