I say it's pretty damn good, all things considered! Heck I would have just rolled the roof in gloss black, who's gonna see it? And yes, I would have primered most of that before I started spraying, but in the end it didn't matter.I liked your idea of a bunch of thin coats as opposed to 2 or 3 thick ones. It made for a better job IMHO. I think it's a win!
Appreciate writing down your thoughts and kind words! I originally wanted to roll the whole van, but ended up giving electric powered sprayers a shot. For less than $200 paint job for a van, I was not disappointed-- Maaco wanted to charge me $3-4k+! At the end of the day, it's a camper van that'll be put to work in the harsh elements. Concerning about my paint while driving through tree branches is the least of my worries
Considering that orange peels galore, to have primed it before would not have made a lot of a difference. I've heard that with them electric sprayers, single stage and thick materials alike does a better job, but still orange peel seems to be a constant. I think that with corded unity with the compressor separated and with a nozzle of 1.0mm or less, the results would have been better, also wet sanding it with 2000 grit and higher would not have hurt it.
well to be honest when you look closely it got loads of orange peel all over it. maybe if you thinned the paint a little more it may have come out better. but looks ok at a distance
Honestly it’s good ,,, if you lightly wet sand it then polish or clear coat it it’d be pretty close to pro ,,, only thing is to be perfect would be filling in the body and peeping it uniform and evenly,,, but like I said ,,, it’s good you can always go back and refine it over time 👍🏾
Nice job. I’m no expert but it’s giving me motivation to tackle a project daily I purchased that’s been sitting for like 5 months with clear coat peeling. I was told these guns are not recommended by so many and the paint would be too thick. Now I’m gonna purchase one any way. What grit sand paper did you use prior to using the gun
Not very much! I made sure I did it in order (painted the areas first where it will cause more overspray around the perimeter) It’s also a very large square-ish van too.
What is wrong with orange peel? We are just accustomed to seeing glass-smooth finish on cars. I suspect that the painted walls in your house have orange peel. Does that look ugly to you?
Impressive! Ingenuity meets hard work
You r too kind!
Great job dude

Umm of course but that wasn't his point. He just showed what he could get away with for a hundo.
Boy I really looks nice great job
Looks good

What grit sand paper did you use prior to using the gun
Glad to hear!
I would highly suggest you pick an electric sprayer that's corded. Also I think I used 320 grit to prep the surface
Very nice. Would have been great if you actually spoke and said what you was doing.
new subscriber plastic dip
How much you charge to do the jams lol.
Haha bro i did the jams with a gloss smoke gray rustoleum spray
@odeecxmpo single stage enamel paint , hardener, and reducer
@odeecxmpo if you click on the eBay link in my description, you’ll see the diff colors that company offers
better than using 6 spray cans
Looking nice. Did you get much overspray?
Not very much! I made sure I did it in order (painted the areas first where it will cause more overspray around the perimeter) It’s also a very large square-ish van too.
Would of prime it first so use less paint
Sidewinder is upside down
I know this is a cheap paint job, but aren’t you supposed to primer the spots that you sanded to metal before painting? Otherwise, looks good.
Yep, it is in good practice to primer over metal surfaces. But I'm using enamel paint and it isn't necessary.
@@cowboywonton thanks for the info. I didn’t know that about enamel paint.
What brand is this gun spray please
Cacoop on Amazon
#vanpimping at it's finest!
Why no primer???????🙃🙃🙃????
First time trying it out to see how long it can last. And extra $ i didn't want to spend for this job.
would of primed it first get bett paint coverage
Did you add clear coat ?
no clear
@@cowboywonton how’s it holding up
@@MugiwaraWeb3 holding up great after 2 years. Haven’t seen any peeling or anything
What kind of paint did you use?
Single stage enamel
Which nozzle do you have used?
I think the middle sized
How much paint did you use?
1 gallon
Whats nozzle size you use?
I think i used the medium size first. and switched it out from there depending on the splatter
I would have painted the roof first, with a paint brush, then sprayed the sides
That’s the right move
What do you mean a brush. You dope. Paint the roof yes with the gun first
Rape van
Isnt better using a compressor? That orange peeling looks ugly..
You’re watching the wrong video if you expect it to be a professional job. This is a $100 paint job using a cheap battery powered paint sprayer
ITS A ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR PAINT JOB. SMH
