    Dude! Amazing I'm a welder turned diamond driller so I'm gonna see if my old shop will let me come mess around and try this if I can source some copper sheet what gauge so you use? Also amazing work really shocked you don't have more subscribers but I think people are headed to stainless for Price? Do you possibly have a DXF file for a plasma table?

    Hello!I want to make a copper container for a moonshine machine as a gift to a friend for his 65th anniversary.Please tell me how you connect the bottom and the cylindrical part of the future capacity of such a volume, as well as how you prepare the cylinder for its docking and subsequent soldering.Is it necessary to cut the edges of the sheet in the form of petals for their reliable coupling, or do you make do with the usual overlap of metal on metal with their subsequent soldering?And more:What thickness of metal for a volume of 100 liters would you recommend using?Thanks.

    What is in the spray bottle?

    • @copperstillco
      @copperstillco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just water. I used it to kick start rot cooling process (because it crazy hot obviously) and the wetness helps wipe the residue off. I use three rags. The first to wipe the bulk of it off. The second has a bit of wrights brass polish on it. So I wipe it with that then use a dry rag to wipe that off.
      I do that to each area I solder. Helps make the final Polish easier. And ensures that flux doesn’t permanently stain the copper. Lol I like em to be shiny, at the very least for when a customer opens their product and get that wow factor!

    why are they called thumpers and what is their job ?

    • @copperstillco
      @copperstillco  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brenohighland3259 The name “thumper” comes from the sound it makes during distillation. As the vapor enters the liquid inside, it creates a rhythmic “thumping” noise caused by bubbling and pressure changes.
      It has several purposes
      -Double Distillation: It allows the alcohol vapor from the boiler to re-condense and re-vaporize, effectively distilling it a second time for higher proof.
      -Infusion of Flavors: You can add fruits, herbs, or other ingredients to the thumper to infuse additional flavors into the final product.
      -Temperature Stabilization: The thumper helps maintain consistent temperatures and pressure during distillation.
      -Efficiency: It captures and reuses heat from the alcohol vapors, reducing the need for additional energy.

    • @copperstillco
      @copperstillco  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@brenohighland3259 it’ll also catch any ‘puking’ accidents from the boiler. There’s actually something called a slobber box that looks just like a thumper but it’s plumbed differently.

      This is like 4 years old. Before I was my own business. In this video I was working with another company. Didn’t take as much footage back then cause I was on someone else’s clock.
      That being said, it was never suppose to be a ‘how to’ more as just part of a day, building a 5g thumper.
      I hope to do more involved, how to’s down the road.
