    Is your 2015 #Honda #Accord running rough?Then let's do a #ValveAdjustment and perform a #SparkPlug Replacement to ensure it runs a lot better. This repair should be done on a cold engine, the valve adjustment specifications are for an engine that is cold.

    Every other car repair creator should take note. Notice how he just gets started and doesn’t take 30 minutes explaining what he is going to do!?
    Appreciate your video, very informative.

    Thanks! Did this job today. Took me a couple hours but not too bad. I tried with the spark plugs installed but couldn’t position the cam in the right spot so went ahead and pulled them. At 120K miles about half of them needed some adjustment.

      Like I said in the video the cam does not need to be exactly on the mark when adjusting valves. Just make sure the rocker is not sitting on the cam lobes when adjusting that particular cylinder.

    I pull the plugs and so it's really easy to turn the engine over and then just use a box end wrench one of the accessories attached by the time belt. Plus I do the the spark plug tube seals and usually the spark plugs too.

    When you said, “I’ll do the rest of the engine” what did you have to do? Did you adjust cylinder 3 in the same top dead center as cylinder 1? Did you spin the cam gear 90 degrees more to do each of the other three? Those are the important details I was hoping to learn.

    • @con_Auto

    My thing is when and if to do it. I had an almost 300K honda accord and never did this and ran like a charm until a crash killed it. With that one I was always wanting to do this if only to learn but it never really needed it to the point I could tell something was wrong.

    • @con_Auto
      @con_Auto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a maintenance item. Meaning it is supposed to be done before an issue becomes present. I am sure that an engine can go a lot longer than 100k miles without a valve adjustment. However to keep your engine running at peak performance I do suggest doing this process every 100k miles

    Do you happened to know what is the purpose of the little squarish grommet gasket on the inner middle of the cover? It looks like it communicates with a port going down the block and it has an evacuation channel in the cover. Is this the EGR re-circulation channel ?

      Thank you for helping out.
      Fumes and blow-back gases from the crankcase are escaping true dedicated ports up toward the valve case cover, enter in the cavities of the cover from where are channeled back to the intake manifold true the PCV valve with the help of fresh air from the main air duct. I hope i got-it right to this point.
      The port visible at 7:06 it is covered by the mentioned grommet when the cover is mounted, at 7:20 another opening is visible toward the high pressure fuel pump housing, what is the purpose and function of that port?

      To piggy back off this for clarity, I might have missed it in the video, but I would rotate the engine to TDC. This would allow me to adjust cylinder 1 and 3, correct? Then after adjusting those two, I would rotate the engine exactly 180 degrees so the two arrows facing directly up will face directly down so I can adjust cylinder 2 and 4? Please correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks so much!

    This is the only Earth Dreams valve inspection video I could find. I have a '15 CR-V and tried yesterday to do this. I couldn't get past disconnecting the plug on the AC compressor. It's extremely difficult to disconnect and for me it was impossible because of the limited access and the plug was "one of those" that just WILL NOT release. The project turned into a spark plug replacement only. I am loathe to the idea of paying someone to do this job because I don't trust "pros" to do a job right, like actually waiting for a cold engine and actually performing the inspection. I've just seen too many times when they can't even do an oil change right. I may cut the AC wires and add a connector to make the job possible for me. Sorry, just venting.
