LIFE SAVER!! Thank you for making this video for us all! My clutches TOB/slave just failed on me last week, and the clutch master cylinder also broke when it happened. The shaft broke. I just had it installed 11 months ago too. So instead of having a shop do the job, I wanted to tackle it. This is the only MK7 GTI/R clutch master cylinder video I could find, and even better is that you made a great video on it! Thank you so much!
Nice vid, but why did you take all the pedal out, on the inside you only need to release the master cylinder rod from the white nylon clip in the pedal , then from the engine bay just twist the master cylinder anti clock and pull it out withing the engine bay !, off course you have to remove pipes and elec conection from the master cylinder !

The shape of the Bulkhead around the Master cylinder makes it impossible to twist the cylinder 90 degrees
