    If want the chicken to really have a Korean flavour you should add some apple sauce or grated pear, sesame oil, Korean chilli paste and mirin to the sauce and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 mins before cooking.

    Omg, this is DIVINE! I made it tonight, though I used dried spices it was easily the best dinner I've made in weeks!
    I cooked my kale mixture, just for reference, for just a few minutes so it was warm with the chicken and rice, and we just about died and went to heaven.
    I'm not a fan of spicy, so I put literally a drop, not even a teaspoon worth of hot sauce in, just to warm it up and balance the sweet and tartness. I didn't have Sriracha but my bf had some nandos hot sauce in the fridge, so that's what I used.
    Next time, I'll add mushrooms and onions to the veggies, and cook like I did.
    It was almost like chow mein in texture with the slaw mix, and definitely worth a try. Thanks Sara!

    I eat a plant based diet. Thinking of trying this with tofu. I do eat local honey occasionally so I don't really have to make any changes to the dressing but if I wanted to make it completely vegan could I use maple syrup or would that change the flavor too much?

    Why Noth American people use sriracha and call it Korean? Sriracha is Thai sauce. Not Korean. When we Koreans want to make our food spicier, we use gochujang.

    Hello Sara Lynn! I'm recently involved in meal prepping and making my share of mistakes. I have been one of your subcribers for several months now and love watching your channel. However, I made Chicken Fried Rice today and overcooked the chicken breast. I had the boneless, skinless breast cut in bite size pieces. They are difficult to eat. I froze it in mason jars (3 to be exact) but saved a bowl for dinner. Is there any way I can fix it? Is it too late? Or can I add chicken broth to the jars? Thanks in advance!

    • @suekeane

      I have saved my over-cooked breast by gently slow cooking it again in chicken broth. till soft again

    So do you eat them cold later in the week? I’m so confused with the concept of packing a salad and rice/chicken in the same container

    • @babiejo59
      @babiejo59 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was just going to ask the same thing…lol I probably would just keep the slaw in a separate container, and reheat the chicken and rice separately in the microwave for a few minutes, if eating later on.🍱

    How is it Korean without gochujang (Korean red pepper paste). Missing the most important ingredient that taste nothing like siracha…

  • @msr0sa

    I fail to see how this dish is Korean when there is no gochujang or gochugaru used. Sriracha is not a Korean condiment, it’s a Vietnamese-American condiment.

  • @workofivory
    @workofivory ปีที่แล้ว

    This looks yummy, but as a Korean, this doesn’t rly stand out as a Korean chicken inspired dish to me. Missing essential Korean ingredients like gochujang, red pepper flakes, etc. Sriracha isn’t used in Korean cuisine

    This seems silly - a crunchy coleslaw in a meal prep? I doubt that she even eats her own food the next day. Do we microwave it and get soggy coleslaw or eat the rice and chicken cold?

    Honestly, it's definitely delicious but I would go with sesame oil, why use a tasteless one in a recipe like that. I'd also finish it with a bit of toasted sesame oil :)
