@@sbsjonas8068 that's really good to hear. I'm 35 now, and started drinking and experimenting with drugs when I was about 13. I've hardly ever been sober for about 22yrs, I didn't notice I was actually an addict until maybe this last year. I've never tried to give any of it up cause I never considered myself an addict, and now when I'm trying to stop, I can't. It's really good to hear you're starting the process of living with a clean mind as early as you are. Keep your mind powerful and don't contaminate it

We have been going through the addiction process with a loved one. The amount of disordered thinking, the things that he has broken, the night time behavior, stealing from parents, yelling at parents who have been incredibly supportive, etc. How in the world can a person continue on this trajectory after being humiliated over and over and over again? He is presently in an inpatient facility. He is not only addicted to alcohol, but also accumulating things, social media, cigarettes, cell phone, nighttime purchasing of alcohol and take out food. We hope and pray that he finally realizes that he needs long term help.

"My uncle had an alcohol problem. A bad one. But he kept it hidden for about 15 years.
The rest of the family didn't know. Just the immediate family. His bosses at work didn't even know. He always had a cooler on his desk that he drank all day.
But, just before his retirement, our family did an intervention meeting. And he went to the www.AsanaRecovery.com center in California. It took about 8 weeks. That was the longest 8 weeks of our lives. It worked and when he came out, he got his retirement from the job.
That story could have had a very different outcome. I am grateful for those care workers that help with addiction recovery. It is nice to see someone talking about how addiciton is a diease. This is not something often know.

here's a few suggestions for giving up drinking quickly
Try eating food when you are drinking - this cuts down the amount you drink.
    Take a break from drinking.
Make a note of how much you drink, then you know if you are cutting down.
Set yourself goals - don't make them too difficult at first.
Choose one or two days or every week when you will not drink at all. Next, try to stop drinking for one week per month.
(I read these and why they work from Adoette drink plan website )

Hey when people see someone going down they should not let that person go they should intervene at some point or at least talk to the person about it. I have been in an insane place disconnected from people, I guess because my town thinks I'm trash and they pretty much gave up on me, and of course drugs are terrible they don't help, I have more reason than ever to be done with it and want sobriety more than ever. I'm pretty sure when someone is cut off from the rest of society and just left alone they have a hard time figuring out what it means to communicate with the rest of the world. It's hard knowing everyone talks about you behind your back smiling to your face and not knowing who is good or bad.

She is currently homeless and finally asked for help but was turned away by several places due to her medical condition, epilepsy and, back issuse causeing her to be in a wheelchair. They claim she's a liability. Where can I take her to get help where there is medical support as well as detox and rehab? Please help! Thank you.

I've been suggesting to law enforcement and others to use IVs of mega doses vitamin B and C to people who are brought into jail for intoxication, as a way to prevent withdrawal symptoms. I'm not a doctor, but I've had quite an exposure to naturopathics, and have seen the amazing benefits of natural health for a wide range of diseases and ailments. I don't know what your IVs consist of, but I hope I was right in my assumptions.

Taper off. 14 a day isn't exactly the worst but it can be dangerous if you go cold turkey, especially if you've been drinking like that for a long time.
