One thing that helped me was this quote: Addiction is giving up everything for one thing. Recovery is giving up one thing for everything. Kept me on the straight and narrow. Best wishes from Australia
A quote that helped me after trying for 15 years to drinking beer was we all have another drunk in us, but do we have another recovery? I was able to keep saying that to myself, and it was like now, or never!
How true a statement is this wow ,I have been sober 17 months now and I hope I never go back to having alcohol EVER ,my life has changed for the better x
I'm a veteran, alcohol and cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏🏻

God bless everyone who has rejected the devils intentions to be addicted to alcohol and cigarettes etc which can cause so much damage to health. I will pray for you all.
I was drinking every day after work, I looked forward to it, I enjoyed the taste and effects of beer, wine, bourbon, it was a daily habit for several years. I basically didn't drink when I was married. I went through a divorce when I turned 40, I started going out with friends to bars and my drinking became a daily habit. That went on for the past 18 years........I'm 58 years old now, I had my last drink January 1st of 2023.......
To me it was crucial to cut off firmly. Once seduced, it is highly probable to get out of control for longer while, than one would wish. They key is day-to-day different lifestyle.
I’m a 43 year old Irish ☘️ man and I’m sober 3 years this august. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made . I was a happy go lucky drinker but honestly riddled in anxiety the days after . I loved the feeling it gave me but hated the hangovers . I was simply sick and tired of being sick and tired. I’ve seen it turn people into monsters I’m convinced that it lowers your vibration so low we are subjected to bad spirts that engulf our bodies and turn us into demons . But that’s a cop out it’s actually our suppressed anger and traumas being released . Clarity is amazing and being in control of your Acton’s and reactions is powerful . Namaste to all
Your story rings so true with me as well. I know you're exactly right in everything you said. I haven't been able to sober up yet, but I'm having some luck with cutting back for now. Congratulations on 3 sober years so far and many, many more years!
I agree with you. It lowers our positive vibrations and churns negative spirits into existence. One day, this little voice echoed in my mind saying “ you have to much soul to drink spirits.” 😮 This voice that sounded so far away yet so clear made me stop drinking what I was putting in my mouth.. pour the rest down the drain, and wake the F up. I’m sooooooooooo much smarter, happier, clever, clearer when those ( boo’s) booze 🥃 stays out of my existence. I know I can do this. This time….
2days sober. Lost cars, jobs, friendships, the best relationship of my life, freedom at times, etc etc. I’m just having enough. I’m trying so hard and I hope I have the strength to keep going, bro.
@@prettycaramel9237 ran into a couple bumps. Relapsed a couple times, but I’m almost a month sober right now. Been consistent at work, entered a new alcohol program, and just overall taking better care of myself. Eating healthy, taking my meds, getting my sleep. Still have tough days but who doesn’t? All in all I’m definitely in a better place mentally than I was when I posted this. Thank you so much for asking, you just made my night.
The surest way to quit addiction is to surrender your life to Jesus. Addiction is not merely a physical thing, it’s spiritual and has power beyond your capacity. This is what I mean by surrendering your life to Jesus; 1. Repent from all your sins and confess them to Jesus. He will forgive you your sins and clean up your heart and mind. (1 John 1:8-9) 2. Determine to live according to the Bible. If you do this sincerely, Jesus will give you peace and joy and you will never feel any need to drink alcohol again. (Matthew 11:28-30, John 8:36) John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
5 years sober. Best thing I ever did. I challenged myself to a year. When I got to the end, I realised I didn’t want to drink anymore anyway. I felt amazing, my life had changed. No longer on medications, 4am wake ups for the gym. Learning new skills. I’m 39 years old and the best I’ve been in my whole life. Finding out more and more who I am every day. I still go out to pubs/clubs, concerts, parties. I just do it sober. It was scary to start but now it’s second nature. I drank to excess from 16 years old until I was 33 years old. I got injured, I lost friends, I had anxiety, OCD and depression. I embarrassed myself, I wasted money and I smoked cigarettes (which I gave up the same day) There has not been one bad outcome from being sober. Not one.
I'm going through a similar story. I'm only on day 102, but already feeling mentally and physically healthier, more optimistic, more productive. Also not smoked since the moment I stopped drinking.
You are saving your life! Please stay strong. I know how hard the journey is, but the rewards will be worth it! You will feel better, look better, and operate with clarity. Best wishes for a happy, healthy life! Be proud of yourself! You deserve it! ☺️🙏🩷
Well done! I've just turned 56 too and I wouldn't have been around if I hadn't packed in. Yes, it's lonely and you may lose a lot of your friend, but the friends you make from now on will be the right ones! Keep it up!
My husband and i quit drinking almost 4 years ago. We drank everyday, for 3 years straight. Early 30s with little kids. It all started with just a twisted tea, then we were bringing vodka and rum home every couple days. We fought all the time our kids were scared it was a very toxic environment. One night, we got in a huge fight that nearly ended both our lives and that was the last time we drank. I pray to God to keep us sober till the day we die, because sober life is the BEST life, it is amazing to wake up and love life and love each other and feel great. We both lost a ton of weight, we eat healthy, we do things with our kids as a family, we find happiness in the little things in life! Thank you Jesus
@@crismcampbell Don’t give up! 4th time, 5th time, just keep trying and never lose hope. One day it’ll click and happen. It’s not an easy journey but the outcome is worth it. Think of your kids and how them having sober parents would be the biggest reward of all! It’s never too late you got this. If you read, there are some amazing books out there to inspire and keep your mind on the right path. When you both want to drink - maybe make a list of alternative activities you can do (and perhaps include kids to participate too - depending on age etc) Cook a nice dinner together, go for a walk in nature, take a car ride to somewhere new! Prayers for you, your wife, and kids. ❤️
That’s got to be hard since you’re in the restaurant business. My dad sold drugs when I was a kid and he didn’t want his daughters to work In either restaurants or hair salons because that is where most of his clients worked. And guess what I ended up? An alcoholic drug addict bartender.
@@h.boylen6334 it really is cultural. Funny one of my aa brothers was a hair dresser. I do alot of service work and yes alot of alcoholics and drug addicts are in the restaurant business.
I started drinking alcohol since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting alcohol addiction. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be used globally to treatment certain health challenges.

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!
41 years old and been sober for more than a year. I was a social drinker with the odd binge thrown in. Lost weight, more focus, mental clarity, zero hangovers, happier overall. Looking back it’s just not worth it, best decision I ever made 😊
I'm 41 also. At 36, I quit. I phased out of the scene because I was getting older. I couldn't tolerate being amongst 20 somethings at night clubs and bars. That actually helped a lot. I didn't fight the fact I was aging. I basically couldn't relate to anyone around me. Recently, I quit marijuana for the same reason.
My life was out of control and on the verge of losing my job at 32. I had 90 days treatment, my whole life got better. Stayed sober 22 years. And then, I dated a man who insisted I could 'drink responsibly' and insisted I join him in his family's traditional drink. I had one, didnt want more and started to believe the lie. Im now 64 and right back to problem drinking. I am sharing this for one reason. Please don't ever think you can go back to it or it will eventually take you down. I pray I can get my life back again. One day at a time.
It is all or nothing for most, even moderately harms, it lowers our vibration. You know being sober is an act of strength, being aware, awake forces us to face ourselves and then we are forced to change , action. I have an ex who drank daily, I eventually joined him and found myself drinking 3/4 times a week. I fell onto a slippery slope of decline, the hangovers, the recovery was harder and longer. I went onto once a week still it destroyed 2/4 dys every week. Plus the lows are dangerous! I got Long long Covid, which for me was linked to histamine intolerance, booze is packed with histamine! I did not want to drink I was so ill for 6 months, my urges declined. I faced me, all my unresolved stories and found I felt empowered when I faced my pain. I "smile when the pain comes" it is strange to embrace my beasts, all guilt, undoings and go into it, "walk though the valley of death" and be protected.I saved me by turning to face what I fear, it is who we are. Light is courage, dimensional, all, power. Turn on your light, turn to the Divine source, it does not have to be religious at all. Call into the dark for help, surrender your weakness, urges, cravings to your courage and rise.
Without many avenues of accountability, we succumb to "self will run riot". Were you going to meetings? Did you have a sponsor? Did you talk to anybody before dating someone who "insisted"? It's NOT alcohol that's "cunning, baffling, and powerful", it's the "ISM". I sincerely wish you all the best.
I love my life without alchohol. I totally quit as part of a complete health re-think. I had already cut way back but now I have not had a drink in 6 months. Lost 60 pounds. Working out, lifting weights, running a daily 5K. The thing I didn't expect was that at age 63 my eyes got better. The day I suddenly realized that I was doing eveything without my glasses it really caught me off guard. IT IS NEVER TOO LATE! You can change starting right now.
I have a theory on this. Sugar makes vision blurry alcohol is extremely high sugar that's why your eyesight improves. It's happened to me. Oh well done!!
Had a bad relapse and couldn't get free until I woke up and cried out to God to save me. That was 4 years ago 3-5-2020. Have not drank since. God does do miracles. Thank you Jesus
for all the people here struggling with alcohol, YOU CAN DO IT. I'M WITH YOU. TOUGH YOURSELF UP, TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE. YOU KNOW YOU CAN. DO IT!!!! GOD IS WITH YOU.
I know this comment is not about the spirit of alcohol 😂 but for something that is not meant to be real…..being ….God….it sure is shrouded in controversy! It certainly touches a nerve with people. Santa & the Easter Bunny aren’t real but it doesn’t seem to stir up controversy the way the name of Jesus does! There’s nothing wrong with having hope & It fascinates me that BILLIONS of people around the world look for & choose to have something spiritual in their life…..that hope……whether it be the God of the Bible or some other spiritual source there’s no denying that many do have a desire for that spiritual connection. Even people who don’t believe often make comments about loved ones going to heaven or becoming angels even though humans according to Gods scriptures do not become angels !! Things are said like that to comfort ourselves. But it’s not scriptural. Whether we believe or not doesn’t take away the fact that the prophecies written in the Bible ARE being fulfilled……can’t deny that one ! Personally I do not believe evolution created us …..the scientific IMPOSSIBILITY that NOTHING created EVERYTHING! doesn’t matter what we look at in our own world, EVERYTHING has a creator . Things didn’t just happen from nothing things are created . I’d rather believe & find out there is no God than not believe & find out there is !! But I actually choose to use my free will to believe anyway. Jesus gives people hope in their death & who wouldn’t want to see their loved ones again or at all? I’d love to see my mum because she died when I was four years old nothing wrong with desiring that . Even for all the positive happy folk out there life isn’t always that great that they don’t hope for something better. God doesn’t force you to believe it’s all up
4 days sober here, been drinking everyday for a very long time. Something had to change, it's affected me in every way possible. To others going through the same... you are not alone.
It ruined my life. I was what some people call a “high functioning” alcoholic. I was a lawyer with a beautiful wife, two daughters, a high-paying job, living in an elite town. I lost my job, my house and my wife. I blamed my wife for all our problems, but in retrospect alcohol made me irresponsible and selfish.

@@bh9262Cheap whiskey liquor is terrible for you🤢🤮 but high priced especially extremely high priced whiskey or tequila liquor is actually very good for aslong as you don't drink it everyday or just have 1 or 2 glasses at the most everyday😁🥃 but your wallet gets badly hurt🥵 but cheap even lower mid grade liquor straight is very bad for you at any time it will destroy your liver very quickly it's disgusting🤢🤮
Good job congrats. Stay in the moment not too far ahead. I've backslid a few times thinking I'll never drink again. Don't pick up today. Tomorrow will be here to deal with soon. Congrats brother
I've been drinking everyday for the past three years since covid pandemic started. I drank heavily too. I am 2 days sober today and glad I've found this video. I have worked my way out of denial and building the motivation to get me out of this hole that I've dug myself into.
I'm there too. I've been trying to figure out why my heart rate is so elevated, I'm 34 in good shape. Been having terrible anxiety and headaches lately. Oh yeah, I drink everyday. Starting fresh tomorrow.
Read This Naked Mind by Annie Grace. I am 2 years FREE from alcohol having read the book. I want alcohol as much as I want a glass of engine coolant. The book reprograms your subconscious to actually NOT WANT IT. It is then you are truly free 🥰🥰🥰🙏
I just started my sobriety today with alcohol. Started the gym this last week again, and am training for several bicycle races in the next couple years. After ruining my life with alcohol the last few years it’s time to begin. It was really nice seeing I’m not the only one struggling. I hope you all do well. Side note: im an amputee from a high school accident and have been numbing myself with different drugs and alcohol on and off for 13 years. We can do it
Hope you're still going strong, and if not that's okay! Can always start again the moment you read this and get back to yourself :) it took me about 3 hospital detoxes, and many moments of trial and error, but i am free from my addiction and back to myself.
I have the opposite. My dad was an alcoholic and I saw what it did to him. From a young age he would bring me to bars, men buying me perfume giving me money for arcade games, etc. He verbally and physically abused me. I cannot have a drink and enjoy it because it brings back all the trauma. It doesn’t just affect the alcoholic, but the whole family. It’s never too late to try and stop. If you slip, that’s ok. Every day you wake up, you get a fresh start to a new beginning. Choose happiness! Find something you are passionate about, keeping your hands busy helps. Good luck everyone! You got this!
Thank you for telling me your experience the weekend is here and im struggling to find will power. Im embarrassed trying to defend drinking a beer today
My dad was an alcoholic too and I never thought I would end up like him. He never abused us or went to bars but we would often find him passed out somewhere and had to clean up his piss or vomit. I was a social drinker but during the pandemic I started drinking at home alone and since then it's been an every day thing, I've become my father and I don't know what to do
@RS Suggestion:::: Go to a mirror. Smile at yourself. Then walk around the block and smile at five random people, regardless of their response. I'd say, try this first. If it doesn’t work out, lmk and I will try to offer another suggestion. What you are going through is not permanent . It's all about changing perspectives.
Hope you are still doing well. As a recovered alcoholic 4.5 years, I found that the first couple months are the most difficult. After that it starts to become normal, but the thoughts still pop up here and there. I tried to quit at least a dozen times. The one thing I had to get out of my head was that I could control myself and drink in moderation. But that just was not true. No alcohol at all helped the best!
psilocybin therapy is just one of those great leaps in the mental health space. Its wonderful and the fact that they serve recreational use as well as for health purposes... Just an amazing feeling.
I have done shrooms in small doses a few times, but a couple days ago I took almost 4 grams and had my first actual trip.l believe I truly experienced what y'all call "ego death"
5 years sober here… the first week is horrible, emotional roller coaster. I was crying angry proud weak .. just everything. After the 2nd week emotions ease off a bit but cravings continue. A month in and u feel like u got this. 3 months later ur going to feel your body and ur attitude starting to change for the better. 6 months is dangerous because u feel that your healed so u start making excuses to have one beer or one glass . U can’t let alcohol touch your tongue at all once you’re on this path because it will take you back. After a whole year I finally was able to sleep without nightmares of me drinking and ruining my sobriety they felt so real I was glad they stopped .. 2 years and ur good just remember not to ever let it touch your tongue again.. it snow balls.. I feel like it’s a demon that wants back in and will make up any excuse for u to let him in… don’t do it be strong ❤
You're right. If you convince yourself to go back to drinking, it gets worse every time. I started again after 200 days of sobriety and went back to drinking more than ever. If you can walk away, don't give it another thought. I have another 2 weeks of sobriety now and I don't plan on ever drinking again.
@Bren675 abstinence is the best way. When I was an active alcoholic, every three or four months something terrible would happen. Now I'm 10 years sober, funny coincidence I haven't been fired or arrested in that time. My problems today are so much more elevated and mild compared to the seriously terrible things that used to regularly animate my life. And to boot, I've accomplished so much incredible things that were previously impossible with the way I was drinking. However you get sober and stay sober is up to you. I personally don't find AA useful. BUT THAT IS JUST MY PATH. Many people DO find it useful and in my earlier sobriety I attended and also found some wisdom there. I outgrew and or became disillusioned by alot of AA though, as I'm atheist, and don't find the people to be worth listening to. There's alot of whackos in there, a variety of mental illness, and also, there's alot loneliness and generally unpleasant emotions tossed around like a washing machine. I found that meetings made me feel worse, not better, because the people I just found repulsive. that's just me. I hope people find sobriety though because whether you believe in God or not (I dont) alcoholism is fatal and abstinence is the only escape route
Being "strong" is a total liability for long term sobriety. It's not sustainable! "Two years and ur good"? THAT kind of thinking is delusional. Sobriety is a process of developing our emotional well-being, so we don't have to self destruct over anything! There will come a day, when nothing will stand between you and a drink except your emotional sobriety, and two years won't cut it! Remaining teachable is the key to a life of abundance. All the best to you, Mark
@@gravelpit5680 For as much AA bashing as you wrote, it looks like your "path" comes with a great big resentment. By your own admission, you found some wisdom, but decided that people who had what you didn't weren't worth listening to. What great wisdom did you contribute to the meeting? I don't care if someone stands on their head for an hour, and believes in the Tooth Fairy, if it keeps them sober, but denigrating someone else's "path" is just ignorant.
Wow just found this vid. This is amazing for anyone that may have a problem. I drank for 20 years! At first things where ok. As time went on the RAGE I had had was not of this world. Thank GOD I never killed anyone. I had to hit the wall before I woke up. Wasn't easy!!! But Thank GOD I've been 5 and a half years sober. Took awhile to get use too being sober but it was worth every second. I want to say thanks to my wonderful wife my best friend. But most of all thank you GOD. LUV U MIKE CAUSEY. FYI if you are struggling with addiction please ask for help! Start with GOD HE cares more than anyone.
I was never someone who even liked taking Benadryl I don’t so drugs or anything like that but I got hooked on alcohol and I didn’t start until a few years ago. I’m at my lowest point and I feel like I can’t get myself out and people showing me kindness is making me cry. I just don’t know what to do anymore but this comment section gives me hope. Thank you all.
3 months! 🙌🤯🙌 Those are the most incredible times. You are on the front lines in the trenches! You got this! The fog starts to lift. No matter what obstacles come your way. Remember you made it 3 months! And you can always make it another 3 months. So proud of you! You give us all hope. ☝️
I’m at 3 months too but, I’m not sure I notice any difference yet because I wasn’t drinking much over the last few years except when I went on vacation or social events a couple times a year. My frequency wasn’t much but I had difficulty moderating when I did. I also would have hangxiety, memory loss, heart palpitations, lose a day to recovery, poor sleep, etc. so I suppose without alcohol, I no longer experience that.
Ive been sober for over 10 years now and yes, it made my life better and I wont go back but being confronted with the reality day by day and really feel why I was an alcoholic hurts as much as all the damage I did to myself. Its still not easy to deal with. I even started to meditate, eat clean, work out and there is still so much struggle in my life. but its worth the pain though.
At 20 years sober through AA I've had many conversations about this. If in AA talk to your sponsor for advice. If no advice get another sponsor. In many people putting down the drink is the most important step but know that outside help through counseling can be just as important. And from my heart to yours, Let go and let God. Never forget what brought you there but truly you are a different person now. You didn't get sober to live back in the past.y prayers to you.
So I have decided finally I’m going to go sober after the last 7 years of abuse: - I lost my university degree - I have been arrested - I never saved any money - I I lost friendships and relationships and hurt my family - I have let myself and most importantly God down My last drink is finished… the bottle is in the bin My last spliff is finished… grinder is in the bin The journey begins now!
No alcohol for 3 months now. I didnt drink everyday but when i did i got blackout drunk.. doing stupid things that i could not remember and i was waking up feeling so ill it was so unbearable i would end up feeling very very low.. this video is so inspiring.. and I feel alot better, my head is alot clearer and I have a glow ☺️ I will continue for the foreseeable and ready to live life to the full with my eyes open! Good luck to everyone else .. just remember .. you got this 😜✌️
I began drinking at 17 years of age. Blackouts from day one. Instant alcoholic. Within a few weeks, I was drinking around 4 bottles of pure whiskey and tequila plus a day. I drove home every night. I very quickly could no longer function. I ended up unemployed and unemployable. I basically was a park bench drunk, who had a home, if I could remember where it was. I only survived by the love and grace of God. Today I am 33 years alcohol free. I worked as a cleaner for many years, and was well respected and looked up to. Then I worked as a security officer for 9 years. Again very well respected and liked. I trained a lot of new staff. Just for today I am sober and very greatfull.
I quit 4 months ago at 21. I started binge drinking from the age of 14/15. Every weekend I would have enough money saved from reselling sweets and drinks at school, me and my friends would buy alcohol and drink until we passed out or blacked out. This continued for 6 years. No weekend off. I went backpacking for 11 months last year and drank almost everyday for 8 months. This was when I realised I had a drinking problem. So on January 10th I decided to quit drinking. Approaching 4 months and can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. You can be an alcoholic at any age. And I was well on my way to becoming dependent
It's been almost 9 months since I turned my life around. At 35, I was caught in a cycle of bad choices and constant worry, but I finally managed to break free 😊💪🏻🎯
I was in an accident over 4 years ago that required me to have 5 open surgeries over the years. I used to enjoy a glass of wine or beer socially or while watching a sporting event. I realized I was drinking more on a daily basis to numb the pain and anxiety I was feeling. Instead of drinking to enjoy, I was drinking to escape. That's when I stopped drinking alcohol. I am scheduled for a 6th surgery in 1 week. I hope it is my last. Thank you to all who participated in this video. You are saving lives.

I'm 55. Been drinking on and off since my teens. I started off this year with sober Jan and keeping it going. I'm not making milestones but that's just me. I do notice that alcohol exaggerates my anxiety. I definitely fall into the "fun drunk". Having people I knew tell me I'm more fun when drinking didn't help. Those are lies. I am so grateful that I am still here and healthy enough to take charge of my life and get healthier.
This video has more value than you realize. Addiction is real. Best to hang out with others who struggle too and find a less destructive addiction. I’m focused on cycling at the moment. And I feel great.
Ive been sober for almost 2 yrs. I lost 65lbs of body fat. I go to the gym regularly and put on 15lbs of muscles. Im happy to see myself now. My blood work at age 46 is wonderful. Im on zero prescriptions
One year and a month sober. I went to AA for 90 days in a row and got a sponsor did the steps. I didn’t have the same positive experiences that a lot of people seem to have. I gained weight. Last year I was plagued by financial, troubles, legal troubles and my dog died. But, a year later I’m glad I stuck it out, because things would have been much much worse. Depending on how long you drink, it takes awhile for your brain to rewrite. So don’t give up if your not all perky and energized after a year. Now, I’ve finally got my shit together and I’m finally starting to feel good.
I am five years 10 months sober today. It was the best thing I ever did. I was self-medicating, at first it was fun until I was using it to stop all of my negative thoughts, and then I depended on it. Just smelling wine would make me get sick, but then I would drink right after. I was on three antidepressants and I would black out so many times. I was diagnosed with complex PTSD last year and it all makes sense. For everyone who quit or is trying to quit, you should be so proud of yourself ❤ just take it a day at a time ,you can do it.❤
Sober for 3 years. Quitted after a 5 day binge drinking alone. Zero food those 5 days, it was me in a camping with 6 bottles of JD. As result when somebody found me I had 3 broken ribs and 1 broken finger in my left hand. It was enough for me. Be strong, don’t drink. Life is wonderful trust me!
destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

I'm 48 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in Seattle. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them
YES very sure of doc_larymycology. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today
Almost a year sober here. I'm 39 and drank pretty much everyday for about 13 years. What I can say is this, in sobriety I have found that it's not an alcohol problem. It's not a drug problem. It's not a porn or a gambling problem. The real problem is deep down inside and the substance or activity is the symptom of the real issue. The lasting treatment for this sickness varies per individual. What's worked so far for me is that I have to release my supposed control over things in my life that I can't control anyway, give my life and my will over to my understanding of God, to forgive myself, and to be a selfless human. It's a choice. Either you can change and find a life that you can enjoy or go back to the bottle or other addiction for another day. If you're reading these comments than you are probably either sober or trying to find a reason to be sober. I hope all these people sharing their experiences helps you to either start or continue your amazing journey of freedom from addiction. The best is yet to come ❤
Are you a friend of Bill's, if so well done my friend. To walk through hell and do it again, to walk through consequence after consequence and yet still pick up that drink, we are very unwell people. Especially when you consider that no other species actively tries to harm itself on a regular basis! I'm coming up 7 months so thanks for the motivation.
@@oliverk191 I'm a friend of Bill's. It really helped to be in a community of like minded people with solidarity in our common goal. I've been away from groups for a few months now but still practicing principles and maintaining my spiritual walk. I'm glad you were able to gain motivation from the video and from my experience. Good luck moving forward!
3 days sober. The last time was the craziest of them all I have had in past 6 years of social drinking... I don't want to go back there. reading about people who quit and changed their lives inspire me to do the same. I will not drink today, that's all I can promise. Hope to keep this promise every day.
Sober 2 1/2 years. Drank for over 30 years. Finally gave it up. I missed so many things... but now I'm awake. If you're in a cycle of grasping at temporary happiness through alcohol the only way out is to get rid of it. It's a difficult road. In many ways you will be starting over. You'll also be surprised at the things you know and the talents that drinking had locked away. Stop drinking, unlock yourself, and find your adventure. Best wishes and I'm praying for you.
It’s just astonishing how much a person can poison themselves with alcohol over time and not just drop dead. Stopped using alcohol at 50, and looking back from 55 it was the second best decision of my life. The best decision of my life was marrying a woman who could tolerate and love me long enough for me to realize she was more important than drinking or anything else that could come between us, she literally saved my life and She never once asked me to quit.
I’ll be 50 soon and quit 33 days ago after 25 years, amazing how completely different I feel physically and mentally. The clarity is strong and the depression has gone. (The 1st 2 weeks completely sucked though lol) congrats to you
235 days sober now and I've learnt so much in that time. It angers me that we separate alcohol from drugs. Alcohol is the worse drug by far and even worse because it's legal and encouraged. My life, mental health and physical health is 100% better. I'm a better mum and no longer a selfish, negative person.
I've been sober for a long time and I'm so glad this is here! It's time for a new movement. I got sober through AA, which Iam completely grateful for but it doesn't work for everyone. ❤
My last drink was the early morning of December 25th 2021. I lost 60 pounds the first 4 months. My head is clear, my thoughts are much better, and my outlook on life has improved tenfold.
I’m 2 years sober as of TODAY! 4/20/21! If I can do it, you guys can!!! Believe me, I went through it all, jails, 5150s, rehab, overdoses, I thought I would never get out.. if you are struggling, you can do it! One day at a time!! Sober at 28 years old never felt so good
I stopped drinking on my 60th Birthday a year and half ago. just got tired of it, can`t say everything is wonderful but stopping drinking was one of the best things I have done.
I stopped drinking alcohol completely 6 years and 2 months ago. Best decision I ever made, BY FAR. I started doing THE WORK to figure out how to properly orient myself into the world, and fight the darkness with healthy habits. I am far from perfect, but by the grace of God I have ZERO desire for alcohol. None.
I'm 35 I started drinking when I was 22 I wasted so many years of my life in denial drinking destroying my life and health Ive been in rehab 4 times. My addiction left me anxious lonely, paranoid and afraid of everything. Now I'm 12 months sober and I'm living my best life I found a program in CA got a sponsor and worked the 12 steps finally taking my recovery seriously. I can now enjoy life alcohol free. For anyone reading this who is struggling it's never to late to change your life their is support out there but you have to want it and take your recovery seriously 🙏
4 years sober, game changer. No drama, no hangovers, not pissing 100s against a wall every weekend. Out of every drug, alcohol is definitely one of the worst. Never happier :)
I saw what it did to people I love very much! ! I stuck to my decision at a very young age not to start! I’m so glad I did at now 67. I miss those people I lost.❤️
I quit cigarettes and marijuana after 25 years and I’m trying to quit drinking alcohol now. I know if I can go a week without drinking I can do it. Every day is a battle
Drinking alcohol in excess can damage many organs in the body, including the liver, pancreas, heart, and brain. Long-term alcohol use can also increase the risk of developing certain cancers.
I'm 43 drunk heavy weight for many years 110 days sober today feeling great clear and focused list nearly 14kg nearly have a 6 pack on my stomach instead of in my fridge keep it up people it's worth it xxx
My husband and I have drank daily for at least 35 years. Once the clock hit 3 pm. We are recently retired and have decided to knock it the *uck off. I am highly addictive by nature and he is able to stop smoking or drinking or whatever on a dime and not look back. My house was a mess and my life was isolated. We hardly went out anywhere and relied on each other to watch our backs. He would always make sure I had a bite to eat before passing out. I would make sure there was enough liquor in the house to make us happy. But lately we started to notice that, after retiring, we were starting to drink at noon. Why not! We isolated ourselves from family and friends (of which we had very few). An average day would consist of 5 to 7 rum and coke zero for both of us. Two shots in each drink. My liver function started to decline recently. I have it checked every six months with the regular blood up. I gave my husband a kidney 6 1/2 yrs ago. We didn't drink for a month. That was the only time we really didn't drink. Five days ago for me and a week ago for him. That's when we stopped ingesting ethanol. I managed to flip a switch in my brain and convinced myself that I didn't want to die. Having never been afraid of death I thought for the first time that maybe I want to live past my age of 57. My father died of alcoholism at age 63. Realizing that age was quickly approaching I started to stress out about not having my husband soon. Dying was ok but not being with my best friend (husband) was terrifying! I had become a liar to cover up in front of family. My adult kids were worried sick. I have been sober only 5 days but feel very confident that I am going to move forward in a positive direction and so is my husband. I was tired of not remembering what I had for dinner or if I was mad at him for whatever we discussed the night before. Blackouts were an every day occurrence. We know this could fail but we are dedicated to filling our time with studying stuff we like and doing things to straighten up the house and organize (finally) our lives. Peace.
@@daphneweldnichols3846 Thank you for caring. I am on day 10 of my new life and feeling awesome most of the time due to natural supplements. Sleeping better with chamomile tea (3 bags) and 1mg melatonin. I hope you are well. Peace.
I have quit opiates (7 years on July 29), cigarettes (quit date February 5, 2021), and now I'm working on drastically cutting back alcohol, and working towards getting it out of my life. I was excessively drinking for the past several years, and I've finally realized lots of things I was feeling, were due to excessive consumption. The more days that go by with me sober, the less I want it. I'm beginning to work on healthier eating and have discovered the absolute joy of fruit and veggie smoothies. For everyone out there, keep taking those steps forward. Lots of days early on are really rough. They're gonna suck. You can cry, scream, and curl up, but don't quit quitting. Get back up, dust yourself off, and keep walking away from it. Do reach out for support. It is absolutely possible to get out of that dark hole. You are worth it.
I was sober for 21 years until covid hit and was laid off. It was the perfect excuse for the addict in my mind. I’m struggling to surrender again, but this helps me today. “Don’t quit quitting.” That’s my mantra.
Don't think that way. Our government actually assured us on ads on tv non stop that we'd all succumb to alcoholism and domestic violence due to lockdowns. Don't ever let others take control of your mind.
FALSE BAPTIST TEACHING. Even Jesus drank Wine and Noah got drunk after the Great Flood and he was the most righteous on earth. Too much of anything is bad for you. Too much food is bad for you. The Bible says having a drink can bring joy. Ecclesiastes 9:7: "Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for it is now that God favors what you do."
@@GEN_X_ bro, who you trying to convince, them or YOU. No one is saying alcohol can't be enjoyed by many people. But for alcoholics, it's a serious problem. Why you posted that crap, it has no context here
Decided alcohol was too much at the center of my life I decided to take a year off. Last drink I took was Xmas Eve last year. I feel better than I ever have! My memory is brighter and better and I handle anxiety better. I've conquered my social anxiety enough to not need it so my almost 1 yr break is showing me all the reasons I should quit permanently.
Life is short as it is I want to remember every moment as long as I can. I died last year and came back on operating table. So I know what's waiting for me. Take your health into your hands Studly everything that goes into your body and reject anything that is not beneficial.
My brother died this year from alcoholism. He was in his late 50's, a Navy Veteran, had a wife, 2 kids, house, and his own business and he lost it all before he lost his life. Thank you for this video, people need to see what it really does. I lost my grandmother, grandfather, and 2 friends along with my brother, to this horrible affliction.
I am sorry for your loss. I too lost my brother from alcoholism this year. He was 61. I am in recovery from alcohol myself and work as a recovery coach.
I’ve been sober 4 years. Started my journey on Jan 1 2020 and haven’t looked back. No more hangovers or vomiting up on myself no more acting like a fool trying to impress others. I’ll never touch another 🍺 as long as I live 😃
Was over 300 pounds in April. Quit drinking, started lifting and fasting. Down to 198 today. Listened to this everyday for months the first few months of sobriety. Helped me keep focus. Appreciate this video and it's message.
drinking is the main cause for my anxiety issues. after a bad binge and terrible hangover the anxiety seems to ease down or completely go away 2 weeks later and then after that i feel complete clarity. the problem with this is i find myself thinking that im not an alcoholic because I am feeling good, my anxiety is lowered or completely gone and then i feel like i can handle a few drinks again and that im not an alcoholic then i find myself in the same damn position with the black out night, throwing up all day long and recovering for a full week. i am hoping to break this cycle.
Yep I'm 44 over 4 years clean and sober and what a great life I have now , I live with epilepsy because of my terrible decisions and my mental health issues where bad but now I'm alive,,, I love life,,,, I hate drink and drugs ,,,, we can all do it
46 year old male - I have 1 year, 7 days sober....no more hypertension, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, and I've dropped 30 + lbs, etc. My body and mind get's a little better each day. This has been the most challenging time of my life but I will do whatever to not go back.
48 years old ( can’t believe that) Been trying to stop drinking from the age of 23 - started at 12-13 like a lot of others - 24 years of not been able to put it down and keep it down !! This video has been really inspirational for me - got a tattoo 3 months ago with the last date I drank - still nearly been picking up though and I’ve just hung on - watching this tho has really helped me feel like I’m not missing out - even tho I have pretty much destroyed my life through booze I can still think that - I am scared to drink now tho as it is so horrendous after a binge and I have damaged my health body and brain over the years ! I really don’t want my kids to drink and suffer some of the horrible stuff I’ve been through with booze - bit of a ramble this but so good to hear comments from people who are not drinking - I hope myself and anyone else who is struggling pulls through and stays away from the damaging drug alchohol !! All the best everyone let’s live in the light ✊️✌️
Think about today. Don't dwell in the past. It doesn't exist. It's not real. The only thing that's real is today and right now. It's worth it to do it for your kids.
14 years sober. 33 now and I sometimes even forget there is such a thing in the world like alcohol. First time I got drunk was when I was 5 grader in school. I drank, only because all of the companions were drinking. Everyone wanted to be cool kids. I hated the feeling of wanting to pee, face on fire and depression the other day after the party. Last drink I drank was high school's graduation party. After that - I met new non-drinking guys, was picking up girls sober in the clubs, driving with my car home from the clubs and parties, not having any troubles regarding alcohol. It is the mood of the company that is fun, not the alcohol itself. This is how next year I met a woman of my life. Now she's my wife and we have two beautiful, intelligent girls. I'm building a family house at the moment and probably with the money I not wasted on alcohol and it's related issues. Choose your company wise...
So many things have been happening back to back and has made me feel like I can't quit when I know it's something I need and want. This video made me so anxious but it's something I need to hear and internalize.
What a BOSS!!! 70 days is over 2 months!! You got this! The fog is lifting!!! So proud of you! Continue to give us all hope! You've proved it is possible! 🙌

Almost 50 months sober.. best drink I ever had in my life was the last one.. iam 33 so iam proud of myself I figured it out early enough.. my dad who's 64 nearly died last January due to an alcohol related incident he's now been sober going on 10 months its the best decision we have both made.. between the 2 of us we spent 70 years drinking.. if you want to change you can and I have proof it just takes will power
You did it in time. I know from personal experience of a dearly loved family member that there comes a time when all the important rites of passage and life events, such as forming a long-term relationship, bonding with your children, gathering a circle of friends, acquiring a home and developing as a person pass you by, and cannot be recaptured. The wreckage is all around you, and you don't have the means or the determination to restore any of it. I still pray for a miracle.
The shift was made with smoking even though everyone smoked inside at those same baby showers. With enough awareness and sober people as prime examples that life goes on without alcohol, the change can be made over time. With God’s grace I am 22 months sober; never thought I’d see the day ❤ We can do this! Whoever is thinking about quitting or already on the sober train, you are amazing and deserve this better life! Be kind to yourself first so you can be kind to others…God Bless!!!
Almost 20 years sober. Very very grateful. I remember in rehab. There was 36 of us. They said the good news is your here. The bad news is only 1 if you will get sober the first time. I was the one person. I think it’s a little of my perfectionist personality? And getting really good help. I wanted to get sober. I was really tired and really sad at what I was doing to my family. I never turn down anyone that wants help. But it boils down to you have to want to get sober! God bless everyone struggling with this disease because it’s a lonely, miserable place to be. Good luck everyone 🙏❤️
Today my journey begins, i feel like i am finally ready to quit and this video reinforced that feeling. It wont be easy but it will be worth it. Good luck to everyone else getting rid of that demon called alcohol. You can do it!

One thing that helped me was this quote: Addiction is giving up everything for one thing. Recovery is giving up one thing for everything. Kept me on the straight and narrow. Best wishes from Australia
Avril. Well said. Thank you..

A quote that helped me after trying for 15 years to drinking beer was we all have another drunk in us, but do we have another recovery? I was able to keep saying that to myself, and it was like now, or never!
Such a good quote, Avril. Another fave of mine is, "the curious paradox is that when I can accept myself just as I am, THEN I can change".
so solid, thx for this
One of the best lines I read said it all to me: sobriety gives you everything that alcohol promised.
That's deep. I will use this saying when I talk to others about this subject.
I needed to read this, thank you.
@@leea1988 Probably the truest statement about this. I got the feeling i chased when drinking from sobriety. (Though it took 3 years but be patient)
How true a statement is this wow ,I have been sober 17 months now and I hope I never go back to having alcohol EVER ,my life has changed for the better x
Can you rephrase it or explain it just to make sure I got. The understanding correct.
I'm a veteran, alcohol and cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd.
Thank you for sharing. Very inspiring
Good that U look after yourself now but sounds like you had some good times with alcohol..it's not all bad
Keep it up👍

The surest way to quit addiction is to surrender your life to Jesus. Addiction is not merely a physical thing, it’s spiritual and has power beyond your capacity.
This is what I mean by surrendering your life to Jesus;
1. Repent from all your sins and confess them to Jesus. He will forgive you your sins and clean up your heart and mind. (1 John 1:8-9)
2. Determine to live according to the Bible.
If you do this sincerely, Jesus will give you peace and joy and you will never feel any need to drink alcohol again. (Matthew 11:28-30, John 8:36)
John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
I embarrassed myself, I wasted money and I smoked cigarettes (which I gave up the same day)
There has not been one bad outcome from being sober. Not one.

Amen brother..that's what I just did..but there are people out there who don't drink..just gotta pray and find them.

Hey! Yes Predroshrooms

I didn't fight the fact I was aging. I basically couldn't relate to anyone around me. Recently, I quit marijuana for the same reason.
Good for you!
I’m praying for you to get back, one day at a time, keep it simple🙏🏼
You can do it ❤
Without many avenues of accountability, we succumb to "self will run riot". Were you going to meetings? Did you have a sponsor? Did you talk to anybody before dating someone who "insisted"? It's NOT alcohol that's "cunning, baffling, and powerful", it's the "ISM". I sincerely wish you all the best.
You got this. You got this.
Thank you for your comment. Very inspiring. I hope to follow in your steps you took
That's awesome I had no idea that would be possible imma show my momma this comment
That’s amazing
I have a theory on this.
Sugar makes vision blurry alcohol is extremely high sugar that's why your eyesight improves.
It's happened to me.
Oh well done!!
Yep, never too late! I started drinking heavily in my 40s, and quit at 61. I realized I was an addict, and Allen Carr helped me quit painlessly.
Had a bad relapse and couldn't get free until I woke up and cried out to God to save me. That was 4 years ago 3-5-2020. Have not drank since. God does do miracles. Thank you Jesus
Amen🎉
Amen brother

All praises to God in Jesus name.

Thank You! Day 1 again

I know this comment is not about the spirit of alcohol 😂
but for something that is not meant to be real…..being ….God….it sure is shrouded in controversy!
It certainly touches a nerve with people. Santa & the Easter Bunny aren’t real but it doesn’t seem to stir up controversy the way the name of Jesus does!
There’s nothing wrong with having hope &
It fascinates me that BILLIONS of people around the world look for & choose to have something spiritual in their life…..that hope……whether it be the God of the Bible or some other spiritual source there’s no denying that many do have a desire for that spiritual connection.

Neither are you alone. Stay strong.

Almost 6 years clean. From homeless to owning my first home at 35. I never felt so blessed to have the courage to finally walk away.
You are a real hero, not the badge carriers. Congrats!
Congratulations! 🎉💖🙏
Clean?
It ruined my life. I was what some people call a “high functioning” alcoholic. I was a lawyer with a beautiful wife, two daughters, a high-paying job, living in an elite town. I lost my job, my house and my wife. I blamed my wife for all our problems, but in retrospect alcohol made me irresponsible and selfish.
Sure hope you learned something from your experience and may God give you the strength to stay clean and find your way back to happiness
I learned a lot. Thank you.

Keep it up. You will be amazed how much better your life will be. I know 💪🏾
I recommend going to AA. Going through the steps gives you the correct foundation. Otherwise, you will inevitably turn back to alcohol I promise you.
Remember that your thoughts create your reality. Therefore, hold the highest thoughts of hope and recovery 🙏🏽
We can do it
You can do it!!🙏
I hope you are still doing well and targeting your Goal. I do not know you but im proud of you!
Hope you're still going strong, and if not that's okay! Can always start again the moment you read this and get back to yourself :) it took me about 3 hospital detoxes, and many moments of trial and error, but i am free from my addiction and back to myself.
You are definitely not alone.
THEY call it disability. I CALL it A "NEW Ability".
Thank you
Thank you for telling me your experience the weekend is here and im struggling to find will power. Im embarrassed trying to defend drinking a beer today
Beautiful
My dad was an alcoholic too and I never thought I would end up like him. He never abused us or went to bars but we would often find him passed out somewhere and had to clean up his piss or vomit. I was a social drinker but during the pandemic I started drinking at home alone and since then it's been an every day thing, I've become my father and I don't know what to do
@RS
Suggestion::::
Go to a mirror.
Smile at yourself.
Then walk around the block and smile at five random people, regardless of their response.
I'd say, try this first.
If it doesn’t work out, lmk and I will try to offer another suggestion.
What you are going through is not permanent .
It's all about changing perspectives.
Today is my first day that I’m finally out of denial. I have a drinking problem. I appreciate the video and all the comments I’ve read.
How are you doing?
I have 18 days. I hope you got some help too. We all deserve it
Hope you are still doing well.
Hope you’re hanging in there.
I’m starting my journey and only a couple of weeks in.
Pretty difficult mentally, especially around the weekends.
How you doing man? I’ve been drinking for 6 years straight tonight is the night I’m done. I hope you’re hanging in there
A friend's positive experience with golden teacher made me realize mushroom is the go to.
psilocybin therapy is just one of those great leaps in the mental health space. Its wonderful and the fact that they serve recreational use as well as for health purposes... Just an amazing feeling.
To hold a fresh psilocybin mushroom in one's hand is to possess the very nature of oneself. Their beauty meets their potency.
I have done shrooms in small doses a few times, but a couple days ago I took almost 4 grams and had my first actual trip.l believe I truly experienced what y'all call "ego death"
Did you use a specific protocol or dosage?
I did a guided ceremony with a therapist, 3.5g of psilocybin. The experience was profound.
I still had the occasional nightmares of relapsing many years into sobriety. They finally stopped in year 9 and 10.

Wait until you get through the holidays without getting drunk. So easy the first half of the year. Then July 4th rears it's ugly head.
Check This Naked Mind and/or Allen Carr. It’s a different way of approaching alcohol addiction.

- I lost my university degree
- I have been arrested
- I never saved any money

Oh man...this is me. I'm 3 weeks sober. Alcohol ruined my mental health. Congrats! Onward and upward!
Just for today I am sober and very greatfull.
well done . be proud of yourself . your still young to enjoy life 😊
No delirium or what so ever?
How do you drink while still dealing with the rigors of hiking/backpacking for nearly a year?
I’m 21 and also an alcoholic

I'll be 4 yrs sober this coming October, so far I've been blessed with a life I could never have imagined, we can do this folks.
Sober at 28 years old never felt so good
I’m 31 years old and I will be 2 years sober this June 🎉 best decision I ever made
35 here and been sober 2 months. Best decision as well.
Nice I will start today
I totally agree 112 days clean
4 years sober, game changer. No drama, no hangovers, not pissing 100s against a wall every weekend. Out of every drug, alcohol is definitely one of the worst. Never happier :)
COVID got us too. It's been difficult with the stress that life has been . And I like your mantra . Progress not perfection ❤
I saw what it did to people I love very much! ! I stuck to my decision at a very young age not to start! I’m so glad I did at now 67.
I miss those people I lost.❤️
Alcohol is one of the big reasons of cancer too. I quit smoking, narcs, alcohol and beat bladder cancer.
79 days sober, what the hell was i thinking,i have never felt better, you guys can do this,it's hard but life changing, stay strong im with you 💪
I quit cigarettes and marijuana after 25 years and I’m trying to quit drinking alcohol now. I know if I can go a week without drinking I can do it. Every day is a battle
@Black Rhino Jeet Kune Do & MMA thanks for the recommendation, struggling here
You got this!! ❤
Try the Sinclair method... Worked for me 😉
I just quit at 60+ years. I became much more frightened of becoming a diabetic and having amputated feet than i was of quitting.
I have been sober now for 17 years 3 months and 5 days today. Thank the Lord my life is so much better now.
Peace.
Wow! Your honesty is everything. Thank you for sharing.
Good luck, never too late!
Take it easy, take it day by day, keep thinking ‘just today!’ and you’ll get there.
Alcohol is evil’s invention.
How are you doing?
Hi Colleen just wondering how you are doing?
Today is my 3 year sober anniversary (8-21-21) 🎉 I give God all the credit!!! I couldn't have done it alone 🙌🙏💝
Keep it in the day. Be where your hands are.
You already have the tools, pick them back up and start using them, you can do this ❤
@@GEN_X_ bro, who you trying to convince, them or YOU.
18 years sober and happy with it 😊 It's a lot of years but I vividly remember the beginning, counting each day.
Seriously, sobriety is freedom.
My 4th day
To all of us who stopped drinking and going to stop. Cheers without drink 🎉❤
Salute!
Love this....im a month sober tomorrow and trying to listening to motivational speeches each morning to get in the right mindset this was fab
So sad 😞
Thank you @@WendyHannan-pt7ez
I’ve been sober 4 years. Started my journey on Jan 1 2020 and haven’t looked back. No more hangovers or vomiting up on myself no more acting like a fool trying to impress others. I’ll never touch another 🍺 as long as I live 😃
You are an inspiration. I so want to be where you are some day.
Was over 300 pounds in April. Quit drinking, started lifting and fasting. Down to 198 today. Listened to this everyday for months the first few months of sobriety. Helped me keep focus. Appreciate this video and it's message.
That’s great! Totally incredible! Keep it up! God bless
You can do it 👍
drinking is the main cause for my anxiety issues. after a bad binge and terrible hangover the anxiety seems to ease down or completely go away 2 weeks later and then after that i feel complete clarity. the problem with this is i find myself thinking that im not an alcoholic because I am feeling good, my anxiety is lowered or completely gone and then i feel like i can handle a few drinks again and that im not an alcoholic then i find myself in the same damn position with the black out night, throwing up all day long and recovering for a full week. i am hoping to break this cycle.
You can do this
Yep I'm 44 over 4 years clean and sober and what a great life I have now , I live with epilepsy because of my terrible decisions and my mental health issues where bad but now I'm alive,,, I love life,,,, I hate drink and drugs ,,,, we can all do it
hope to overcome this drinking one day...
46 year old male - I have 1 year, 7 days sober....no more hypertension, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, and I've dropped 30 + lbs, etc. My body and mind get's a little better each day. This has been the most challenging time of my life but I will do whatever to not go back.
peace to you and congrats
48 years old ( can’t believe that)
Been trying to stop drinking from the age of 23 - started at 12-13 like a lot of others - 24 years of not been able to put it down and keep it down !!

You can stop. Im 26 months sober after 42 years. Life is good.
Think about today. Don't dwell in the past. It doesn't exist. It's not real. The only thing that's real is today and right now. It's worth it to do it for your kids.
You can do it and today I am joining you..I am 47 and been drinking since I was 19...let's do it
14 years sober.
Well said, stay strong. We don't need alcohol to make us happy.
So many things have been happening back to back and has made me feel like I can't quit when I know it's something I need and want. This video made me so anxious but it's something I need to hear and internalize.
70 days sober now,and life is a joyride!😊
What a BOSS!!! 70 days is over 2 months!! You got this! The fog is lifting!!! So proud of you! Continue to give us all hope! You've proved it is possible! 🙌

As a longtime sober person myself I'm so glad to hear these guys and ladies talking about it
Same ❤ it is awesome. We are still in the age of miracles 😊
1year sober, im 35, best decision i make in my entire life, i was almost dying, i cant even look at alcohol anymore, thank god.
2 years + 7 months + 16 days and I am enjoying getting to know myself and waking up in the morning without feeling anxious/ sad/ sick.
Today my journey begins, i feel like i am finally ready to quit and this video reinforced that feeling. It wont be easy but it will be worth it. Good luck to everyone else getting rid of that demon called alcohol. You can do it!
