    The 2 lb rope is already so brutal for me. I feel it in my wrists :/ I definitely need to master that before I even consider 4 or 5 lbs. Thanks for the vid guys! You inspired my BF and I to #dothething. We're 2 months in and each of us are down 20+ lbs.

    Honestly, the rotational inertia created with that weighted rope could cause a lot of injuries if not used properly. Not sure that heaviness has a place in someone's regular routine. Maybe for very short bursts of one or two sets, but damn, that's heavy stuff.

    • @screamofitness
      @screamofitness 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes definitely right I use the 3lb they made and I tell u what I can feel I'll be getting arthritis early in life cuz of the pull from the rotation of weight

    • @andrewharris3417
      @andrewharris3417 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Isaac Clarke maybe slightly exaggerated with the arthritis part, BUT if you are not careful with these ropes they will injure your wrists easily. You can feel them pull on your wrists but aslong as you lock your hands with a tight grip you will be ok.

    I’ve had these nearly a year. They are brutal but they really improve your cardiovascular fitness. With the 5lb rope I’m doing 10 x 30 second sets so total 5 mins. After that I’m completely wiped out. Can only manage to use the 0.5lb rope and the 0.25lb rope for the rest of the workout. Brilliant product though and I’d definitely recommend the ultra heavy ropes.

  • @velodromekirk
    @velodromekirk 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I use a 4lb rope 5 days a week. 10 to 13 sets of 100 jumps. Never had a single shoulder problem.
    I did start at 30 jumps per set and over 2 years built up to 75 and 100 jumps per set.
    It's a great work out.

    I use my 2lbs Crossrope for 20 minutes and then use my 1lbs rope as my regular jump rope. I bought a 1/2 rope and it was too light so I sent it back. I would not personally go heavier than 3lbs for a rope. I would do other things for strength training like the battle ropes. I’m also probably stronger than most at 6’6 250lbs.

    The heavy ropes "woke" the CNS up. It's 'wave loading'. It's hitting the heavy weight that prepares the body for battle and so the lighter weight feels light. The batter with the donut is a perfect example.

    The 3Lb is a beast in itself.... One time I hooked up the 3Lb with the 1Lb or 2Lb, and it was just too much lol.
    Related, I've been doing 100-150 jumps at a time with the 3/4, 1, and 1 1/2Lb ropes, and now the 1/2Lb rope is SO LIGHT by comparison, that it's "hard" in that my arms want to spin it faster than my legs can jump! Not even exaggerating!

I do 9 rounds of one min on and one minute off, most rounds I do 118 - 125 skips. And I have the 3 lbs Titan rope. I sure as hell don't need anything heavier. I have tried to do 9 rounds of one minute on and one off, but I generally fail after six rounds. So you're recommending I change to 30 second rounds with the Titan?

    Is it okay to start out with a one-pounder? I got the one/two set to start.

    The 2lb rope with someone who has good development in the upper body is as heavy as you should go for strength endurance/conditioning effect. Heavier than that is counterproductive. When you get stronger, mix in the 1lb rope and 1/4 rope go for speed for anaerobic training effect.

    I was thinking of jumping with 10mm chain, which would offer 25lb rope but need a way to make a rigid U shape for safety. Maybe heatshrink plastic tube would do it? Great alternative to weightlifting lol

    Did you guys build your arms, legs etc. just from your jump rope workouts you show on your channel or do you also work out at a gym?

    Started doing 2lbs a week ago and now i can easily do sets of 50 so I am switching to these. I could never learn double-unders but I think I can use these while others do double-unders during the class. Just so i dont have to do double the amount of single unders every time lol

    Can I use my slim handles from the get lean set on the 1&2 lb ropes?

      We don't recommend it. It wouldn't be a good experience.
