The reason your finding gaps in the track is that quite a few years ago some evil people got in and stole the track for what they could sell it for as scrap metal ,good thing they were caught up with and did some gaol time. Its a lovely track and a good walk .Cheers John.
Thanks for the videos guys. As a child, I would go and stay with relos in Daylesford/Glenlyon. I travelled by train leaving from Footscray and alighting at Daylesford. Your video has re-ignited old but happy memories! Thx so much! Gerard
Trentham station is actually the towns tourist information centre and is open weekends. They also have a market in the forecourt of the station and one of those vans on the platform (notice the external power point sticking out of the platform) is used as a market stall. Sometimes on weekends there is also a coffee/cake van.
Well done lads, I used to load sheep and cattle in those livestock wagons in the 1970s, I think the sheep ones were L wagons and the cattle were Ms, but I could wrong. That was 50 odd years ago. 🤔. Dam hard work moving them with a bar if they rolled past your loading gate in the yards !!😁. Nice video
Hey I love the vids mate keep up the great content. You should check out the Ballarat to Geelong rail line that goes through Lal Lal old station there and Elaine and Meredith all the way through to Geelong. The line still gets used every now and then to Lal but they want to restore the line to a full functioning line.
They've got no money, they're all over 60 and the locals would rather it was a rail trail. You know, something beyond the interests of model railway fantasists, that might make some money for the local community.
@@zygmuntthecacaokakistocrat6589 Have a look at those riding the train - they are not "model rail fantasists". They are ordinary people experiencing what it was like to ride a train on a branch line in days now long gone and spending money in Daylesford. Their children and grandchildren can also experience it too. How much money would the taxpayer-funded rail trail bring to the local community?
Nice video mate. Trentham is a station I have wanted to visit. Good to see a lot of rolling stock stored there and in some what good shape. There is also a tractor pull competition that happens there once a year.

That’s awesome!!!
Great to see Trentham in such good condition, one of the best surviving 4th class stations left from the early 1880s.
Definitely is!!
It’s actually the towns tourist information centre so maintained by the shire and volunteers.

I think that the Daylesford Railway group intend to restore the line from Bullarto to Trentham one day which would make a great trip.
Absolutely!!
