Kevin H those micro power poles are awesome - but $600? That’s a lot of money. I have two DIY poles on my boat now. I’ll have a vid out soon featuring them.

Your welcome. Since were talking mods, I don’t have and outboard for my PBR yet. I am thinking about building a rudder of some type to help with the wind drift. I’ve seen a few on videos, but I kind of wanted to come up with my own.

Arnie M lots of great rudder ideas out there. I made one for my PDR using 2 C clamps fixed side by side with 6” 2x6. Attached a gate hinge on top, 3’ piece of hockey stick (composite) screwed to the gate hinge and an amazon cutting board for the rudder. It swings freely, but I have a 2”x6” magnet that keeps the rudder down, but will break away it I hit a stump. My boat doesn’t swerve at all now. Good luck!

Arnie M having a rudder on the back makes a huge difference! You should make one! All the best!

Great mod again brother Charlie. I do have a question about some of your previous video of the transom mod, could you do an update on how it’s holding up and the wear and tear on screw points of the side handles, and your thoughts of a slightly bigger motor like a 5-8hp and how it would hold up with this transom or what additional mod you would do to handle at least a 6hp motor. Also what are your thoughts about building a front deck that looks like the transom with the side frame for Aesthetics and Symmetrical look and for more deck space.
    Thank you
    Tommy

Tommy Truong the transom mod is holding up great! One thing I would have done different is used wood glue when I assembled it, but it is holding up great. I’ve added some new mods to it as well which will be featured in future videos. If your going for a bigger motor, I think it would be good to make the transom mod using thicker/better wood (other than fence pickets). I think my current set up would work fine with a 5hp, but I would definitely beef it up with better wood! I think having a matching casting deck with sides is a great idea! All the best!
