Pelican Bass Raider Fishing From the Back! What's it like for your guests?

  • Join me as I continue to learn more about this little boat and share my experiences with you. On this trip, I fish from the backseat in order to better understand what it's like for my guests. My experience caused me to rethink my setup and make a couple of modifications to the layout. I even created a rod storage "solution" in the process. ‪@PelicanSportVideos‬

    Love your videos , I can’t do the vertical rod holders the way i fish so i just have them in the gunnel area on some horizontal rod holders .

      Thank you for the kind words, it really means a lot to me. Out of curiosity, what type of fishing do you do?

    I just bought the same boat basically. Will be doing all the same things you're doing - thank you!

      Thank you very much! I'm glad you find some value in the content. Enjoy your boat...it's a fun toy for sure!

    I always sit in the back of my boat because of my size and have found this to be very true in my Quest Angler 10. Never thought of turning the seat all the way around. Thanks for the video!!

      You're welcome and thanks for watching and commenting. I watched your scupper install a few nights ago. How's it working? I'd love to have a scupper but I'm terrified to drill a hole in the boat.

      @yakkittymack Scupper plug is working great. If you do it just make sure it's in a flat area, unlike what I did. Appreciate you checking it out.

    I use the flex rod stager system on my bass raider and love it. It’s adjustable too and typically for kayaks but works for me.
    Thanks for the video

      And thank you for watching and commenting. I looked at the stager system but I didn't want to add more track mounts. I have one already that I use for my depth finder, but I'm trying to keep drilling to an absolute minimum.

    Just came across your channel because I’m looking into the same boat you have. Stealing a couple of your ideas and some others I’ve found. Super neat channel you’ve got going here my friend. Tight lines and good luck.

      @BlownBudgetGarage thank you for the kind words! It's a great little boat but has its quirks. Wind will be your worst enemy, but wind is bad no matter what kind of boat you have. The price point is amazing!! To be able to have a boat and motor for less than $2k is pretty remarkable actually. I would advise you to get the upgraded seats (Ergo 360) your bottom side will thank you for it 😂 thanks again for watching!

    Very nice setup! I have one question, I've seen how everyone have everything they need in their boat. My question is where do y'all put y'all fish?

    • @yakkittymack
      @yakkittymack  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hahaha, that's a great question. I only catch and release, but for those that catch and keep it's either gotta be a cooler in the middle or stringer over the side. Stringer in the water is dangerous where I live, so if I was a keeper I'd have to set up differently. Thanks for the compliment and for watching.

    Just setting my 10e up and lie your ideas. I'd like to know where you purchased your cover and what the model number of it is. I've bought 2 and had to send both back because they would not fit around it.

    • @yakkittymack
      @yakkittymack  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @wglwt thank you for watching and commenting. The cover is a Carver and was purchased from Covercraft. I will put the link in this reply. There is a drop down menu to select Pelican, then a second menu to select Bass Raider and there are 3 styles to choose from. I purchased the middle style ($180) and it fits and protects perfectly. I learned the hard way not to cheap out on my cover especially since I store the boat outside. Hope this helps! www.covercraft.com/us/en/boat-covers

      @ograntfishing I have a McClain aluminum jon boat trailer that I modified. It was easy, I'm not a handyman by any stretch of imagination. Check out this video of the trailer. th-cam.com/video/ybJ9fy0RlGE/w-d-xo.html
