    so does the seat riser make it less stable...more tippy in yoir opinion? I read some other guys trying to dissuade a a guy from building the casting deck because they were worried about stability as well. I really like the deck and want to make it anyway. I measured and figured the best dimensions were 20'×28'. is that what you used? What kind of screws did you use for mounting the rod holders, etc? thanks.

    Do you use a winch to load the boat from the water? I got a similar setup on a Northern tool trailer and I find the tilting function useful when launching into the water but the A frame is difficult for mounting a winch. I prefer the straight type more room and options for mounting things.

    So, $!: how much is everything so far, you know, boat + everything you've bought for it so far? And thanks for the idea! I've been mulling over things I would need for my next project; I'm working on a canoe rig for scootin' up & down the Susquehanna & Chenango to go after smallies and muskies that will be pretty much "powerless & wireless" and your fiberglass pole setup just basically filled in the power pole aspect (both rivers tend to run >10' in my region from early summer to late fall). All I need is a pole, a mounted slot for it, and a mallet and I'm set for stationary casting! Outta curiosity, how deep do you need to set your anker pole for semi-still water, and for slow to moderate water flow for the pole to keep ya stuck??

    • @malagabee
      @malagabee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I store mine in the backyard too it’s a bit heavy to pull the boat and trailer by the jack handle but it can be managed with one person with my aluminum framed 4x8 utility trailer with plywood decking. If you want your grass just make sure once in position don’t move the jack wheel back and forth it will tare your lawn.

    • @victordouglass3961
      @victordouglass3961  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I started out with a 1 inch spade bit. Straight through. A TON of marine grade sealant and a no reversible two piece drain. Bought it at Academy for 4 bucks. You're going to have to shave both pieces down because the hull and deck are very close together....about 1/2 an inch so it take some workin....

    hello sir would you tell your viewers how you put the fish finder and trolling motor cord through the hull

    • @victordouglass3961
      @victordouglass3961  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ok so first thing is drill about a 3/4" hole at the back and at the front. Then I took a nut and tied a 15' piece of braid to it. Stick the nut in one of the holes and use a magnet to capture it through the hull. Carefully "walk" that nut down the top part of the pontoon all the way to the other hole. You will have some difficulty doing this but it can be done. I did it twice with my TM and FF. Once you get it out the other hole, tie that braid to your power cable for the TM and pull it back through to the original hole. I finished with a rubber grommet siliconed over each hole. When I make an update video I will go ove this in a little more detail.
