@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos you know what? I took sparkplugs, cleaned and added ceramic paste to threads. Pvc valve did get tlc. Vvt solenoid: not one day too early, filter aswell, dirty af😂😂 well, 126.000km rolled 107. Not to be worry about.

I find the torque setting of "Tight, but not too tight." applies to a lot of things. Makes sense that the VVT would have its own filter, lots of thin tubes pushing on cams.
I love it , but , if your trying to put the thing in the wrong hole will it squeal , or the likes to let you know ,,, ?? [ maybe just beat you about a bit }
Got a shitbox that im working on which was given to me. Currently has 225000 miles on it. Everything still works even though it wasnt maintained all that well. Did the timing chain last weekend as it was horribly stretched and rattling. Gained some power but will do this tomorrow as well
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos managed to ger her out after doing the ritual bashing of the knuckles against every bloody sharp corner in the engine bay, trying to fit a 8mm Allen key in. Completely clogged up with hard chunks of oil. Couldn't get it 100% clean, but hell, it's a lot better than how it was. We'll see tomorrow if there's any performance gains. Next job, sanding the rust on the roof and respraying. Only in a couple of months, though, need to wait for summer as it's winter down here in South Africa.
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos yeah, Cape Town specifically. Winters are mild but generally quite wet. It had been relatively dry so far, with temps dropping to around 12 degrees Celsius and peaking at 20. There are some random cold spates that drop to 4 degrees but nothing hectic.
