Excellent video! It's useful to see a build like this to pick up tips and issues beforehand. I do agree that 3D clamps really add a lot into a model. Also a nylon rope being "disgusting" and "disrespectful" is 100% accurate 😅
How did you end up here Evan? This isn’t a StuG! Great review though, I’m eyeing up a Tiger kit and it may be the grey and winter wash one. I imagine most of the kit is the same
Excellent video my friend really enjoyed watching it from start to finish all steps were well explained great selection of music thanks for sharing your great videos 👍👍
Thanks nice video. Building a kit is the true test of its quality. I would have liked to see a quick over view of the sprues , PE, Decals etc. But I really like that you didn't waste time with rambling or filler.
I built their first kit a while ago, the RM-5001. Clear to see this kit is based on that one, but a lot of corrections were made, like the fenders, which didn't follow the connection points on the hull. Rye Field Model used the Dragon 6252 as a template, that is undisputed, because i built the RM-5001 and the 6252 next to each other as a 'duo built' , so it had a good base for a good kit. Only disadvantage of RFM is the type of Styrene they use for their kits, it is not that soft/flexible as for example Dragon, and leaves no room for errors, it is much more fragile. So i know what this kit must be like, and the (trendy) 3D-printed parts are a nice bonus.
Great video love the fact it DOESN'T have an interior. 😁 I hate all tracks from all companies. And I see you do the same thing I buy aftermarket tracks. Again great video.
I've just relised there's no 3D printed parts in this new stug kit! That's crap eh! Just when seen the smoke launcher in orange there reminded me! I've got a box in the DAK tiger kit might see if they fit n use the muzzle cover n smoke launches as have other's I can use for the Tiger kit I'm not to bothered with having built a couple there all the same kits apart from this one and the other new leningrad one grey n white camo panzer 4 bin
Rfm have another new tiger and a new sherman Thunderbolt 6 we think it is! If you go on Rye field models Web page you'll see the new kit's! And there's another leopard A6 the Tiger has the panzer 4 bin on the turret on the new one
Bordor model's have just relised this tiger 100 you can make the other one with the panzer 3 bin from the kit aswell inky the exhausts are different I've noticed they are slightly above the engine deck with a few luvers cut into them facing the engine deck it's strange? Maybe they have just stuck the wrong one's on hopefully there's more than one type on the sprues! I have thus RFM one you built I liked it alot! There new one with new tooled engine and Zimmerit will be interesting!
Mj miniatures tools clamps nightmare to remove! I bought there panzer 3 set the other day for the stug there better designed for removing than the Tiger's! Found a 80 tooth razor saw removes them in 1 peice now lucky you get loads! I will say though to save you some money and being very angry is do not touch ammos 3D printed clamps! I bought them to try 1.35 there just perfect for my 1.48 scale tiger I'm doing for my wee cousin! I don't do anything smaller than 1.35 Normally so was very angry when the panzer 3 and panzer 4 clamps from AMMO were more than half the size smaller than the mj miniatures clamps! I glued.1 of each kn plasicard next to one of the mj miniatures clamps and sent it to ammos fB complaining there wrong scale and not happy! So hopefully people read this and keep it in mind but if you do buy them good luck getting anything 1.35 slide through them! They'll be lost on a fender of 1.35!
I see you have does famous but wery expensive sprue cutters by God hand. Are they much better than other good cutters like Tamiya's sharp side cutters, Manwah cutters, Mr hobby, Xuron or the Dspiea ones?
I’m quite disappointed to see that RFM have changed from the really excellent standard included tracks on the earlier Tiger kits to something less durable. These were one of the best features of the RFM tiger. Also, the other kits had PE for tool clamps; these have gone now? (Even if they were the fiddliest thing ever made).
Enjoyed the video very much 👍👍👍 Those kit tracks are the same as the ones offered by AFV (aftermarket) from about 15 years ago. They to require a careful gluing technique but they can be just as effective as any other tracks. Poor RFM, modellers bitched incessantly about pins and guide horns with the two track containing over 900 parts and requiring a large block of time, so RFM gave us these "user-friendly" tracks. It's important to remember that the vast bulk of these kits will be sold to near novices and experts complaining about something they have no intention of ever using is just bitching (😁😁😁). I myself rate the T-Rex printed tracks over all the Tiger link-to-length (working) I've had over the years. Good to remember aftermarket tracks can run up to an additional half the cost of the original kit 😯😯😯.
I don't think Tiger 100 had the tow cables on it anyway ornthe crowbar i have this kit aswell and see they have put a type A and type.B for added cables up top amd as for the new cupola i don't know what im missing but its exactly the same as the one on the sprue i have anyway all bolts line up the same im confused on this one even looking at the one you show side by side there the same! I read the sprokets were inaccurate this im looking into! I have the 3 in 1 dragon kit kit 6600 it it has this kit in it im building that first as its upgraded with new parts to build this tiger but dragons tiger 100 bix art itself is all wrong just crazy stuff!
Different tracks on this initial tiger than other being mirrored so couldn't use the older ones it wouldn't be accurate for this version! T Rex have 3D printed one's you can get they'll be better than this new design! The kits pretty much the same way as the new Stug full interior kit, more time cleaning parts n filling ejection pin holes than building the thing! Could have definitely been better it's like they were in a hurry to get it out before miniart n Bordor model's or something lol

Clear concise and to the point, great vids and great choice in music too, sitting in a comfy chair with a coffee is the best way to watch your work.

Great suggestion! Thanks buddy!!!!
Thanks, I really enjoyed this. It's really helpful to see how a kit goes together and what issues might occur. Looking forward to the painting!
Awesome, thank you!
I built the RFM Initial Tiger1 as my first Armour in years.
Hated the tracks & used Fruilmodel metal ones instead.
Glad it’s not just me!
I have the new Cut away Mid version on order from RFM cant wait to see what this cut away is like for the new Full interior MiD
Nicely done sir enjoyed from start to finish I'll ge round to building mine eventually will look forward to the next update

I'm not sure that clamps was large enough for a wirecutters. Some companies do 3 or 4 sizes which is correct.
Hello Adam, you are correct. I had to slice to bottom of the clamp to make it fit.

Thanks for showing. The OOB tracks of this kit RM-5075 (and RM-5078) are terrible. If I had known, I would not have bought this kit.
So true. Garbage; compared to their other tracks!!!!!!!
The latest 5 Tiger kits from Rye Field have an obvious mistake on their drive wheels.
This kit is one of the five.
Thank you so much for the heads up. Good to know for future tiger projects.
Where did you get those spring clamps used to hold the hull side plates?
Amazon.
Great video again dude
Appreciate that
Old AFV style tracks from about 15 years ago. Ok for the novice builder with no heart for the 900+ parts of RFM's other MK style tracks.
I agree. Nice and easy to assemble and attach.

Don't give up on those 3d clamps. It just takes some time and strategy in removing them properly.
What is the rating for RFM's Tiger 1?
I would give it an 8 out of 10!
What is the name/code for the RFM track you bought later?

Is this most accurate kit for that model?
I am not sure which is more accurate: this kit or dragon's. They seem the same to me.
I really like those 3D printed tracks. Do they have a good price point, and by the way nice video the tiger looks great.
