    2:00 that helmet is historically accurate. I’ve got a book with photos of the actual 502 #3 and that helmet is in this exact spot! The camo pattern is historically accurate as well.

    3:10 That dust cover IS in the kit. I know, because I just finished building this model with that variant.

    Your instructions are in the correct order. The driver's armor will have to attach to the deck plate either before or after the deck goes onto the hull. My instructions in 6252 said to attach the driver's plate to the hull, then later magically fit the deck plate in where it doesn't have the clearance to fit.

      Forbes Hutton Ok, so they corrected the mistake. Thanks very much Forbes. I'll have hunt down some images to compare.

    Thanks for the review. Been thinking of getting back into scale modeling again, and I have always had a thing about Tiger 123. Will have to get different tracks, and side fenders, as 123 had them, but, didn't have the front or rear fenders. This looks like a decent kit to get my feet again, thanks again.

    Nice review. Been thinking of getting this kit, as I need to replenish my Tiger I stash :)

      Russell Gosselin It's one of the more affordable Tiger kits, and it has the same parts as all the rest. It's a good choice Russell.

    FYI I just got this kit and it did NOT have the "full color markings page" that you show at 8:00. The markings were on the last two pages of the instructions as it is with all the other dragon kits I own.

    Hey Adam. Nice review. Did you ever get to selling your DS tracks? ;)

    I am about to start this kit and was wondering if there is supposed to be a visible seam at the rear of the turret where each side meets?

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it shouldn't. That's one solid piece of plate. It's usually hidden by a storage box but obviously not on this kit. Might explain why it's there. But I would remove it.

    Beware! Some Ebayers are seller the much better earlier initial 6252 (aside the turret halves and tracks) but they have slyly taken out all the goodies, the brass shells the magic tracks and used a different photo of this later DSL tracks.

    Adam what is really the best between the 2 initials?

  • @julius7539
    @julius7539 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    In your opinion, which is better: rerelease of 6252 or this. What about the late kits: rerelease 6253 or 6406?
    You pointed out that 6600 has the fixed lower hull. Do you know if they used this newer tolling hull for the rerelease of 6252?

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Julius Hochmuth I believe the retool of 6252 would have the updates as well. You can still get this pretty cheap though.

    Informative and funny! I can always rely on the TigerMannMeister to do a top review - I really do need an initial in my stash

    I very much enjoy your review's, Question, Did you do a review on the Dragon Mid with Zimmerit ? If not I would like to see you do a review. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your future review's.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tony Quinn I did not do one, but I am about to. I didn't do one because I had 2 and I built it before reviewing it. IF there is any question I can answer for you about it just let me know.

    • @Tony196180

      I just wished Dragon would have done the Zimmerit on the mid like they did on the late.
      if you have the book. The Modelers Guide
      to the Tiger Tank, I am building the Tiger on
      page 70 , Using the Rye Field Model Tiger,
      So far I will have to fix the Engine access door, by filling the air filter hole, I am also wanting to build Otto Carius Mid with Zimmerit, hence the review on the Dragon
      Mid, I depend on you to keep the good stuff coming, I used to watch a lot of Coen's video's
      but the nay sayers got the best of him. Any help you could give me on Otto's Tank would be a great help.
      Thank you
      Tony

      Tony Quinn
      So I plan to use one of my Dragon Mid with Zim kits to make Otto's 217. The main things you'd have to change are the front hull extensions which on 217 are the later style where the piece with the hole comes out from half way down not that top, and the Tiger (P) mantlet with the notch in the bottom corner. The only way to get one with Zimmerit molded is to buy the 217 White Box, but I plan to just use putty. I'll probably just take the standard gun sprue early mantlet and cut the notch out myself, then putty. If I mess it up I have like 15 spares.
      Other than that make sure to use early tracks not late as 217 had early tracks.

    • @Tony196180
      @Tony196180 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input, I am not going to try and buy the white box, I just think they are way over priced. I think your way is the best way.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tony Quinn
      I'd buy the white box if it was a reasonable price, but apart from the Tiger (P) mantlet with zimmerit and decals it's the exact same kit. So that would be silly for me.

    I'm guessing you dont have much free time to answer queries Adam but i thought i would ask a ? anyway, I read recently on the tiger1.info website that initial Tigers did not carry the normal tow cables associated with later models, would you know by chance which tow cables the initial Tigers carried...I'm guessing it may be Pz Kpfw IV cables ?, i think everyone misses your superb 1/35 reviews.....I must have watched all of them at least six or seven times apiece, Good luck.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words. Once my baby is a bit older I will return more often. All I know is the early cables were 22mm, not sure if they were taken from stocks used for smaller panzers but it would make sense. I will cross reference with Panzermeister36.

      @@AdamMann3D don’t worry about it. Anyway, I ordered this kit which is pretty scare nowadays. Not sure why. Takom, Meng, RFM won’t go near it
