I actually walked into my Wal-Mart a few weeks ago, and they had 5 different cabinets marked down to $75.00 ea. !!! Needless to say, I bought one of each, figuring that I wouldn’t be seeing them again. It’s important to note, that ONLY one Wal-Mart had them at that price, and other stores would NOT honor that price.
Yeah, $299.00 is a bit pricey, but when you actually get it built, and in your house, it is a really cool experience. My thoughts were: why not have FIFTY games per cabinet? When you consider the fact that you can grab a pandora box, AND a small monitor, and SAVE over $100.00, it makes you wonder why they did t sweeten the pot, so to say.
mpholicx2 I am forever saying that myself! Lol..it was just a LUCKY find. I wasn’t even looking for a game at the moment, I was there to see the new bluray releases, and I nearly had a heart-attack! Say WHAT.!?!? SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS?!?! I RAN to get a cart, and piled it HIGH!
They do hurt . I'm 5.7 an with a rise putting weight on them makes chipboard wobble . Actually stick to TV an official completion of games . Even a switch does a better job .
I agree. Even with the riser they are too short for someone 6 ft. or taller, they should have made those risers a little taller. Plus, I wish they would have backlit marquees on all their games like they do with Golden Tee.
I have seven (!) of these machines, including Golden Tee, and I love them. Golden Tee is a fabulous port. I play it almost every day. Remember, they already have Centipede and Missile Command on another cabinet!
@LReigh84 Seriously though, because they make great, attractive furniture for a game room, and you can play them too. Many people have always dreamed of having their own home arcades, and this makes it possible in a compact, affordable form. I used one of them as the basis for a MAME mod as well.
I'm still going Walmart to Walmart trying to these on sale. I'm not sure myself if they are worth $300+ and I don't know anyone who has one to try it. I might have to come over 😉
Paul was playing it just fine at that height...but me, well I'm 6 foot 4, so only a full size cab would be comfortable (and even those are a little low)

Nice new cabinets. My dad got the Asteroids cabinet as a birthday present for himself and he is over the moon. Personally, what I want them to make in the future (which may be a long shot because of the gun mechanics) is T2: Judgement Day. It’s my favorite!
Amazon might have a time listed. Here in Canada we still don't have the mortal kombat, but on Amazon it has it listed as coming out here December 29th, so might be worth a try!

@@jlh8830 both from Arcade1Up, but the countercade units aren't cheaply made. I got the Pac Man countercade (my place is too small for a 3/4 size right now) for $320 + tax. They have some good weight to them and feel sturdy and would last allot longer than those mini arcades.
These are a lot better than the original release they made a year ago. The marvel super heroes and tmnt arcade cabs will be awesome as well when they are finally released
I’m in the same camp as the other people complaining that these still aren’t tall enough to play comfortably when standing, even with the riser. I know the height issue prevents a lot of people from buying these units when they absolutely would if they could get them taller. Make it happen, Arcade1Up! Give us a riser that’s double the size! #Arcade1UpPleaseMakeASuperRiser
To the people that complain of wobbling. They include a wall anchor kit that secures these, when they're on a wall. To those saying too small, that is the point. To make them small enough to have multiple cabs in house. Full size cabs are in a different licensing structure than these at 48" meaning it would jack the price up dramatically. Why the offer their riser. Now to the the height. On a riser the control panel of these are within an inch or 2 of CPs of cabaret cabs. The difference is the height of the uprights so it does absolutely nothing to your back.

It does feel a little short. Maybe they should offer an alternative taller and heavier riser that attaches to the cabinet. That could make the whole setup sturdier.

Golden Tee is the better buy. Unique controller you’re not going to emulate on a hacked SNES Classic. Gotta like that light up marquee and included riser.

I've built a couple of home MAME cabs, so I find these products not very appealing to me. But if that Star Wars yoke is solid, I'll pick one up just for the part.
Looking closer, it appears that Arcade1Up has an excellent replacement part/accessory portion of their website. I guess I'll be able to get that yoke without buying the whole machine. Yay! They also have bat tops for the joysticks if you want to switch. arcade1up.com/collections
They look good but cost to much for me I mean how long are you going play the few games for? Less then 1 2days? Then it just sits there. They should add a part where you can add a sd card and add your own roms on it! I mean you can probably get own made set up with 1000 of games on it for not far off the same price on eBay? I would rather have that
God, I have to get that Final Fight one. It has Ghosts n Goblins on it. That's my favorite childhood game series of all time. Super Ghouls n Ghosts was the first SNES game I ever played.
I got to see one in person for the first time. My thoughts: Even WITH the riser, it's a little short, but i suffer from lower back issues and hunching is not my jam. I need a riser.. For my Riser! Also i do find them light and a easier to move around, carpet or not. I'd still consider one for cheap, but i'd build my own riser that was taller and weighted. I'm not really the demographic though, i'd be more likely to save up and buy a real full size cab.
@@HoboTango Well tru that...but if you're going for these mini arcades, might as well play emulators off your laptop PC if you're concerned about space?
Drunken Master Paul playing FINAL FIGHT?! My day is off tona great start lol. The CAPCOM cabinet is the one I want the most. It has some of my favorite games in it, especially GnG a series I dedicated to my girlfriend. BUT I cant find it locally so I may have to get it through their website. Great review MJR!
I'm 6'4", so I'm definitely going to raise it up. I already have something I can use for that though. I bought it on Cyber Monday from Walmart for $149. I originally had the Asteroids version in the cart (same price), but after looking at some reviews, I was too nervous about a couple of reported issues (I don't want to have to spend another $50 on a better spinner or fill the stock one with pennies!). Final Fight just seems like you are getting a lot more for the money.
I definitely want the Pacman one. Maybe get one of those Pacman bar stools to go along with it.

One main difference is they no longer use crt screens over rgb. Lcd screens are blurry in motion and unless scanlines are used on the emulation will look all kinds of wrong.
@@dooganchode9447 Of ourse it does. it is a rom board. Mame runs it. Nice screen. decent wood. Decent sticks and buttons. My free plexy. Mine is fine. I'm geeting the Turtles and a cheap electric guitar for Christmas.

Definitely very cool and unique. I just recently saw the marvel one and it looks unbelievable! Would definitely consider one if not a couple of these. Great video Jason
Yeahhh definitely a missed opportunity not adding more trackball games to the Golden Tee machine...like one of my favorites...Cabal !!!(even if it has to be one player). I'd be interested in converting these into a mame machine if I had the space....but there are probably better and cheaper ways of going about it.
I bet those are good budget machines. I'm trying to one day own a house, preferably with a basement. I'm going to try and save enough for authentic arcade cabinets from back in the day, and hopefully a pinball machine. I see Paul playing at 2:14, and the Arcade1Up cabinet seems to be rocking quite a bit. Not sure if it can stand up to some zealous gameplay. Nice nostalgic trip, though, especially if you're on a budget for some quick retro action.
As soon as you mentioned other trackball games like missile command and Centipede, the Atari Arcade 1up that has the trackball has those games As well as Major Havoc
To each his own, but these aren't for me. If I wanted an unauthentic experience, I'd be using MAME on a CRT with an arcade stick (which I do). It's not a technical feat as some might think. If I wanted an authentic experience, I'd buy a full-scale machine of my choice. Then, when I want to expand, invest in a JAMMA connector and buy new boards for games of my choice. Admittedly, this second option does require more technical prowess.
I have the TMNT, Marvel/X-men/Punisher/ Final Fight and Street Fighter Cabinets from Arcade 1up and atgames Arcade Classics machine and loving them ALL.
I would like to see both a Strikers cabinet and a Raiden Arcade 1UP cabinet, @MetalJesusRocks. The Strikers cabinet would contain Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945 Plus, Strikers 1945 II, Strikers 1945 III, and Strikers 1945: World War. If so desired, Sengoku Ace/Samurai Aces, Gunbird, Gunbird 2, Sengoku Blade: Sengoku Ace II/Taisen, Zero Gunner, and Zero Gunner 2 can also be added to the game cabinet. Now as for the Raiden cabinet, it would have Raiden I-V, Raiden Fighters 1, 2, and Jet, Raiden DX, Super Raiden, Raiden Trad, both versions of Viper Phase 1, and Raiden IV Overload in the game. Additionally, there will also be expanded versions of Raiden I-V that will have Raiden DX, Super Raiden, and Raiden IV Overload features mixed into those games, along with additional bosses, stages, enemies, and power ups being added to the games.

Looking closer, it appears that Arcade1Up has an excellent replacement part/accessory portion of their website. I guess I'll be able to get that yoke without buying the whole machine. Yay! They also have bat tops for the joysticks if you want to switch.

Wonder if it’d be possible to hook up one of the pcb’s from that site into a full size arcade cabinet?
I'm sure you could, but it's still emulation. I'm not sure it's any better than the Raspberry Pi 3 that I've been using.
I can't wait for the wall mounted 1Up machines
Great lineup, but nothing beats the original arcade machines if you're a purest.
Well yeah...but..at least those fits in my small arcade room ;-)
@@HoboTango Well tru that...but if you're going for these mini arcades, might as well play emulators off your laptop PC if you're concerned about space?
Golden Tee is a good, novel choice. If I were to ever get one of these, I would definitely pick one with a unique control scheme.
I 7’2” and I play my 5 arcade 1up cabinets comfortably with a raiser. Don’t get all the fuss about these being too small.

Super impressed with the original Might and Magic series in the background.
I definitely want the Pacman one. Maybe get one of those Pacman bar stools to go along with it.
One main difference is they no longer use crt screens over rgb. Lcd screens are blurry in motion and unless scanlines are used on the emulation will look all kinds of wrong.
I own the Street Fighter. I really like it.
It still works lol?
doogan chode I got mine for Christmas, modded and swapped out controls. Mine has no issues.
@@dooganchode9447 Of ourse it does. it is a rom board. Mame runs it. Nice screen. decent wood. Decent sticks and buttons. My free plexy. Mine is fine. I'm geeting the Turtles and a cheap electric guitar for Christmas.
Wobbles a lot though.
I mention in the video is cuz it's sitting on my thick shag carpet in the Game Room.
@@MetalJesusRocks Yeah, the minute after I commented you adressed it in the video. Thank you for the reaction though!
Jason great reviews of both cabinets. Hey man just curious since you're a Metal fan, do you like Manowar?
I have 3 of these arcade1ups. They are cool and fun but if you play them a lot, they wont hold up.as you can see them shake as the guys play them. They are still amazing to have around! Cool stuff
Marble madness would have been amazing
Golden Tee was the only one of these I was interested in. They were in every sports bar I was at in the mid 1990s.
Do not get me wrong, these are cool. And like MJR said, you *NEED* that riser. Big guys and a small cabinet is asking for back pains.
Good thing they added the plastic, he immediately placed his beer there. Lol!!!
As soon as you mentioned other trackball games like missile command and Centipede, the Atari Arcade 1up that has the trackball has those games As well as Major Havoc
Awesome stuff Jason!!! :) My best regards to DrunkenMasterPaul!
Those are really cool! Would you make like an extra room on your backyard for arcade machines?
I have the TMNT, Marvel/X-men/Punisher/ Final Fight and Street Fighter Cabinets from Arcade 1up and atgames Arcade Classics machine and loving them ALL.
Adding weights or anchors would help the cabinet rocking and rolling when someone is doing some hard gaming and shaking the whole setup.
Just sitting here waiting for that turtles one to drop. Excellent video my dude!!
