    Nice 👍 it’s sad that we have to spend another 100$ for a 700$ cab!! End up spending 800$!!we shouldn’t be spending more money to fix errors… that’s just my opinion… other than that great tutorial video 👌🔥🔥🔥👊🐲

      Well said!! Totally agree with this!! It’s even more sad seeing people on places like Reddit acting like it’s no big deal having to do stuff like this. If I pay $750 for a cabinet, it should be nice. Not a piece of junk that I have to go and fix. No one should defend that.

      Agreed brother. 🦊🥃

      I upgrade all my cabs to 19" monitors anyway, so it is not a big deal for me...but I look at it from a different point of view. If A1UP did put in a better IPS monitor, the price would have went up $50-100 dollars anyway, so either way would have paid more.
      And if the price increased because of a better IPS monitor was in there, many people would have complained about the price being too high.
      At any rate, I wish they would have just put in the better monitor if price was an issue, but there are many that like the monitor the way it is. So for them, they have to do nothing. If you want a better monitor, you have the option to do so.

    • @2Dai4
      @2Dai4 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@therealsmilebit totally agree with you! But for the price at 700$ don’t you think this should of been already included ?

    • @therealsmilebit
      @therealsmilebit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@2Dai4 It is hard to say without knowing what A1UP motivation was for putting the monitor they did in there.
      If they went away from the BOE because the price of them would have jacked up the price of the cabinet, then from a business perspective, I would say no.
      But I am speculating...could be they just went with the cheapest on they could fine and did not care of the quality.
      I am assuming they did what they did because of price increases or could be because they needed to get out quickly to meet sales quota.
      Again, just depends on their motivation of why it was put in there. But at any rate, whether the price would have gone higher or not, I think they should have put an IPS in there like the 17" once in the 3/4 scale cabs. They may be saving a buck or two, but the optics from the community and others is that they are putting greed first and that is not worth saving a few bucks, to me anyway.

      One note -- not sure if others have experienced this, but the Dell monitor randomly shut off after a few hours of play, likely due to overheating. I improvised and took two pieces of wood and taped them on the inside of the machine to move the metal box further away from the monitor. Will let you know how it goes but that should hopefully allow for more airflow, with less heat being directly exposed to the monitor.

    • @brianleatherman2049

      I'm glad you had good luck. Kyugh... What a pain! With mine (An LG) the screws going into the right side could affect it... Okay, adjust them. Lay the assembly into the wood, screw it down, it's back... And now it flickers.
      Tilt it back out, readjust the screws. Now tightening them clears the issue. Tighten them, lay it down, start screwing... Flicker...flicker.
      Finally figure out that the panel is twisting somewhat on installation. Bend the plates that rest against the wood so they're flush. Lay it down. Screw it in. Begin replacing the bezel... You guessed it.
      I'm on the right track, though.
      Tear it all down again. Bend the resting plates even more...button it up etc etc. Aaand..... So far it's working. Fingers crossed.

    Just an FYI...it was brought to my attention that screw the two screws on the right of the casing when putting in the LCD panel can short out the LED strip in the LCD Panel. I have not experienced this, but two people I know of had this happen. One person stated it shorted the LED strip in the LCD Panel..another said it was blinking in and out. This makes sense as the LCD strip is on the right side of the LCD Panel.
    The person who said it shorted the LCD strip just made sure not to tighten the screws too much. Just enough to hold the LCD panel in the casing. The person who said it was blinking in and out stated it stopped after loosening the screws. Again, I have not experienced this but to be safe, only tighten the screws enough to hold the LCD panel in place on the casing, particularly the right side.

    I did this with an “Open Box” 1917s from eBay. It worked, and then it didn’t. The screen went from working to going black. I could turn it off and it would work again. I could play a round and it would be just fine. Then I could be in the middle of a round and it would go black. Now it’s just black all the time. Can still hear sound. Will need to order another one unfortunately. But I followed everything in the video by step. I just went back in to make sure my connections were snug. Connected everything back in, turned the power on…nope, still black. Bummed out, but the screen only cost me $50ish. 2nd time is the charm hopefully…

    19kfox,
    First off, thank you for sharing. I hope Arcade1up sees this video. Second... I think you and I have different definitions of "plug n' play." For me, plug n' play would've been, disconnect one cable from the old monitor, remove it, pop in a new monitor, plug in that one cable, turn on and play. But seriously, I really appreciate you sharing all your modding projects. For me, just putting a 3/4 scale Arcade1up together is a chore in frustration. It's cool to see so many different people of varying skill levels enjoying the same hobby.

Tired of paying $700 only to pay hundreds more to make something right that should have started out that way. Still giving you thumbs up 👍for helping the community Fox but it just pisses me off spending more money.

      Yes. You’ll need to fabricate a new mount and make sure the aspect ratio is 5:4. Beyond that you’re only limited by the inside dimensions of the cabinet.

Nicked the bezel decasing it so there is no sending it back. This was a brand-new monitor too. I even tried loosening the case screws but it made no difference. Hoping that I didn't overtighten them to begin with and damage the monitor.

      It was brought to my attention that screw the two screws on the right of the casing when putting in the LCD panel can short out the LED strip in the LCD Panel.
