YOO the videos just starting off and you brought back my memories I didn't know I had of downhill domination! I loved that game! I moved houses and the box with the ps2 and all the games was at the new house until it mysteriously vanished a few weeks later when I was going to hook it up. It's been 3 years and I still haven't found it. It was my 1st console and I had so many games that I loved
I just bought the Shadow Hearts Trilogy plus Shadow of Destiny from an online Carousell seller here in the Philippines. It was expensive but worth it given how rare they are. I am going to play them later.
I'm still waiting on a Xenosaga trilogy remaster. I first played Episode 1 several years ago and I loved the premise. It's also got a surprising amount of hidden side content.
Have just found your channel Metal Jesus. Really excellent channel. Having just got back into retro gaming at the ripe old age of 52 I’m loving your work. Great stuff.
The entries in the 'Xeno' meta series are some of my favorites. Xenosaga is even the reason I got a PS2. I went in halfsies with my mom on it and it's really the main reasons I dusted off my PS2 and games. Come to think of it, over time I've crossed paths with at least one version of each of the Xeno games. Got Xenosaga I as my buy-in game with my PS2. Traded a copy of Front Mission 3 for Xenogears and a PS1 compatible memory card for my PS2. I bought my Wii-U in order to played Xenoblade X. Xenoblade 2 basically distracted me from a serious bout of depression at just the right moment. I'd honestly forgot that I'd even pre-ordered it and then it was there on my front step when I needed something to occupy my mind. And I picked up the portable version of Xenoblade Chronicles after, get this, I won a New Nintendo 3DS XL out of a keymaster. Is there a word for suddenly realizing that something is much more significant to your life than you thought it was? I mean, "spouse", but I'm not married to a game franchise. :P
This video helped me to discover some new gamesv that I did never heard or saw before, thanks. BTW I still play ace combat 5, the best ace combat ever.
Silent hills series, Yakuza series, jak 2/3, and my all time favorite from that gen, Beyond good an evil. PS2 has so many games, it's definitely one of my favorite consoles to collect for.
The Time Splitters games were my LIFE back when they were current. I used to carry around my PS2 slim and controllers in an old briefcase, along with a small CRT to have play sessions at my sister's basketball practices and games with my friends.
HCTP is a real classic with the customizable story mode. Freedom Fighters is a good game. What bothered me was the patriotism that sometimes seemed real, sometimes more like comedy. Never understood why they did not include a cooperative multiplayer, that would have been gold
I am sad. I felt nostalgic about my PS2. So i went to my parents home, dust it off, brought it back to my place, plugged it in... And it does not work... I am kind of sick of this new era of gaming, and The modern titles don't call my attention and i get bored. So i turned to the old games, that's what i want to play. NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, for me that was The golden age... I miss it.
*I still play DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2,Tomb Raider Legend,Tomb Raider Underworld,Driver 3,The Simpsons Game,WRC 4,NBA,Vice City,San Andreas,Matrix Path Of Neo,Bully,Fahrenheit,God Of War I and II,Silent Hill Origins, etc*
I still have my PS2 still hooked up to this day via my second TV. Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Def Jam Fight for NY God Hand Urban Chaos: Riot Response
I just restored my PS2 to working order and played some Gradius V. It didn't get any easier over the years, but what a fine game. Next up is another run of the insane God Hand. A personal hidden gem is Kya: Dark Lineage, because I enjoy the overall vibe and the platform/fighting aspects.
One PS2 game that I still play to this day is True Crime: Streets of LA. It's a game that also released on the original Xbox and the GameCube, but I own a copy for the PS2; and I still play it to this day. It's like a GTA PS2 game in a few ways; except it's easier to get back into playing after playing more modern games; both aesthetically and in terms of game mechanics.
My favorites are All of the Armored Core games that were released on the PS2. Time Splitters is also on my list. Second Sight. Final Fantasy XII was great.
5:10 Man, this game. My brother and I only ever had access to a ps2 as kids (as far as consoles go), and this was one of our favorites. It's so special to me for that reason. I have it on the OG Xbox now.
my favourite console as well. it was also one of the best times for creativity in games and pushing the envelope. with the industry more passionate and way less corporate / soulless than they're today (but that can be said about entertainment in general). good times & good video!

Starting to build up that collection!
This is a great video because I'm gathering games that are fun to play when friends come over. Like arcade style games. Don't have time for RPG games when friends are over.
@GANTCE yeah I haven't played a single GoW game to this day. But Rygar is comparable to DMC and Onimusha. Just not nearly as good as those two, from my experience through playing them.
@@Jpmd3000 definitely worthwhile to play from start to finish. Even though it's been like 15 years since the game came out, the game to me is a timeless classic. Much so with the original PoP that started it all. Fun stuff.

Guitar Hero III. OMG spent MANY hours playing this and blasting the music with my daughters. Just pulled it out recently and it is still super awesome!
Great list of games -- some are in my "favorites list," with the Shadow Hearts series being one of them. The 1st Shadow Hearts is my favorite, with its darker tone & story (like Koudelka), with the 2nd one right behind it (& how they're connected). The 2nd one added some humor to the dark tones, with refined gameplay, and I love that. The 3rd one, From the New World, is a spin-off that lost me. It got too carried away with the humor, & lost all its darker tones. Now we need the true (canceled) Shadow Hearts 3.
Thanks to you doing these videos, I do own a lot of the games you suggested or recommended such as SSX 3 and Tricky, Burnout Revenge, 2: Point of Impact and 3 Takedown, and War of the Monsters. These are some suggestions you should consider for your next PS2 video: Motocross Mania 3, Fantastic 4, Monster Jam, Mission Impossible: Operation Surma, 007: Everything or Nothing, Blitz: The League, and any of the Street games whether NFL, NBA or FIFA. Oh I almost forgot to mention the Dynasty Warriors series as well.

The glorious PS2 with no fucking internet (outside of the other adapter), no DLCs, no fucking patches to "fix" the game they released unfinished because "fuck you, give me money", no Microshits, no Loot-fucks, always physical WITH manual, etc. The PS4 may have sold over 100 mio units by now but still that console doesnt even come close to the PS2-level, PS1-level or a few other consoles before the 7th gen where fucking internet had to play a fucking role in gaming.
@Guy Who Steals Other People's Memes oh man I love Treasure Planet!!!
@Guy Who Steals Other People's Memes yeah I play it every now and then, a well made platformer.
I can't say how many hours I put into the Socom games. The fact that they came with the headsets blew my mind!
Green up!
Tekken 5 and MK deception , are loveeee 🥰💞💞💞
YOO the videos just starting off and you brought back my memories I didn't know I had of downhill domination! I loved that game! I moved houses and the box with the ps2 and all the games was at the new house until it mysteriously vanished a few weeks later when I was going to hook it up. It's been 3 years and I still haven't found it. It was my 1st console and I had so many games that I loved
i love ps2 and i think it's my favorite console too! i still boot it up to replay katamari damacy and mgs 2 + 3!
the Shadow Hearts series is so good; I still play it to this day, Xenosaga is pretty good, Kuon; there is just so many great games in this console
I just bought the Shadow Hearts Trilogy plus Shadow of Destiny from an online Carousell seller here in the Philippines. It was expensive but worth it given how rare they are. I am going to play them later.
MrAnimeMilitary It’s worth it, you gonna love it!
I'm still waiting on a Xenosaga trilogy remaster. I first played Episode 1 several years ago and I loved the premise. It's also got a surprising amount of hidden side content.
Axogreen I am still waiting for the remaster as well; It’s such a great game!
Here's a few of my personal favorites: Atv offroad fury, Nitrobike, NBA street 1/2, Maximo, Rumble racing, Shox, and War of the Monsters.
Maximo was really great, would love to see a third game.
Have just found your channel Metal Jesus. Really excellent channel. Having just got back into retro gaming at the ripe old age of 52 I’m loving your work. Great stuff.
In one of the hidden gems videos, i saw Shadow Hearts series for the first time, now they are some of my favorite games. Thanks man!
Tekken 5 and MK deception , are loveeee 🥰💞💞💞
I still play “Drakan: The Ancients’ Gates”.
@Video games Bloke. You have excellent taste. 😉
Great game, on my list as well.
I litteraly just thought about this game when i saw the video. I was so into this game back then. Glad i saw your comment
Have you guys seen the glitch episodes from that one youtuber? He used to upload them regularly
Drakan is awesome, hopefully they will revive the franchise
Area 51
Cold Fear
Evil Dead: Regeneration
Obscure The Aftermath
X-Files: Resist or Serve
Evil dead was awesome
Cold Fear is truly a hidden gem
I'm replaying 2005 need for speed most wanted for the 100th time On the ps2 😍
Demolish Noobs that game is amazing.
Demolish Noobs just beat that last month. Grew up with the PS2 version, had to purchase the Xbox 360 version because mine was beyond repair
Grand Theft Auto Vice City gave me a feeling when it first came out I havent had since.
Same here, what a game!!
That’s what GTA 3 did for me. My nostalgia for that game is crazy.
Jpmd3000 You were there on launch?Damn,I can imagine the hype for it!
Sanandreas and scarface for me
The entries in the 'Xeno' meta series are some of my favorites.
Timesplitters 2 Remake needs to happen.
Tekken 5 and MK deception , are loveeee 🥰💞💞💞
The Time Splitters games were my LIFE back when they were current. I used to carry around my PS2 slim and controllers in an old briefcase, along with a small CRT to have play sessions at my sister's basketball practices and games with my friends.
Time splitters 2, WRC 2001, medal of honor frontline, Socom 1, Need for Speed Hot pursuit 2 and NFL Blitz. I still play those almost everyday!
I still play: Freedom Fighters, WWE Here comes the Pain, Gran Turismo 4 is a masterpiece
HCTP is a real classic with the customizable story mode. Freedom Fighters is a good game. What bothered me was the patriotism that sometimes seemed real, sometimes more like comedy. Never understood why they did not include a cooperative multiplayer, that would have been gold
God of war and metal gear will never die
I miss it.
Helder Costa have you ever tried emulation? It's super easy to set up with millions of tutorials online
@Reid Jackson Agreed.I paid £35 for a PS2 Slim in perfect condition with a controller and game
Raw Vs Smackdown 07! My best friend and I still play it whenever we get the chance! I put a lot of hours in that game.
Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
Def Jam Fight for NY
God Hand
Urban Chaos: Riot Response
Urban Chaos is the best fps on PS2, hands DOWN
You should try urban regins
I love these PS2 Videos!!! I think you can do a Hidden Gems PS2 video every week.
LOTR: The Third Age still gets a lot of love from me. I always go back to play some COD:2 or some of the brothers in arms games too!
I still play Downhill Domination, War of the Monsters, Maximo 1&2, Contra Shattered Soldier, Gradius V, Onimusha 2, Viewtiful Joe, and Rygar.
For some reason I always come back to Tony hawk 3, lotr return of the King, and the ratchet and clank games
My favorites are
All of the Armored Core games that were released on the PS2. Time Splitters is also on my list. Second Sight. Final Fantasy XII was great.
Tekken 5 and MK deception , are loveeee 🥰💞💞💞
Absolutely loved the shadow heart games. One of the few things I am thankful to Game Informer because they once had it in a top 10 list of best RPGs
5:10 Man, this game. My brother and I only ever had access to a ps2 as kids (as far as consoles go), and this was one of our favorites. It's so special to me for that reason. I have it on the OG Xbox now.
Love the videos! They seriously have a 2000s aesthetic, and ay you have some sick guitars
my favourite console as well. it was also one of the best times for creativity in games and pushing the envelope. with the industry more passionate and way less corporate / soulless than they're today (but that can be said about entertainment in general). good times & good video!
sOUL i0N idk. This year was great for music and gaming. Harder for me to find amazing movies this year but open to suggestions
@@Enigmalakemy comment isn't meant to say that there is no good content anymore, just that the enviroment has changed a lot and it's more difficult to find original ideas that are not neutered or filled with things you have to pay for extra. music is a different subject due to it's structure. don't know your movie taste, but john wick 3 is an obvious choice for amazing movies in 2019. ;)
Man, the Shadow Hearts series were really underrated. It has a great history and unique turn base system, I think it deserved so much more attention it had back then.
I agree, I still play the shadow hearts series
Kodelka was the first in the series. Some things in covenant make more sense if you've played it
As you may be able to tell the Ratchet and Clank series is one of my all time favorites.
The background music is amazing!
RoadKill was awesome and I sometimes come back to it, Recently I picked up OutRun 2006 on the PS2 I can see that being a game I'll pick up and play every so often it still looks good.
Thumbs up for having Timesplitters in the thumbnail
I still play "God Hand". This is an absolute masterpiece.
God Hand is fucking awesome
Fucking expensive
@@Ji99i3 expensive to buy on a ps2 u mean?
@@sq7507 yeah man.
Tekken 5 and MK deception , are loveeee 🥰💞💞💞
That's crazy you mentioned Shadow Hearts: Covenant! I ADORE that game!
Yeah the Shadow Hearts series is def one of the best jrpgs for the ps2. I love those games so much
Such a wide variety of games for the PS2. I play it from time to time and defo think it's one of the best systems
The way PS2 hit on all strides with gaming and a DVD player is a once in a lifetime experience what a machine. Vice City is my 2nd favorite game of all time have it on my PS5 ;) Put hundreds of hrs into SSX Tricky oh my and always have time for Downhill Domination I miss it to this day :(
In 2019 I played through Onimusha 2 & 3, and The Suffering. They still hold up!
superdoonz1 suffering it's awesome
Zone of the Enders will always be one of my favorites.
Tekken 5 and MK deception , are loveeee 🥰💞💞💞
The Smackdown series on ps2 is legendary!
Smackdown Shut your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain are 🔥
Just found a copy of Ripto’s Rage at my local retro games store, one of the games I’d been looking for for PS2 for a while. Those first couple Spyro games were an amazing experience on the Playstation/PS2 and it’s about half my childhood... other than that, definitely Star Wars Battlefront I and II, and 007 Nightfire. Starting to build up that collection!
This is a great video because I'm gathering games that are fun to play when friends come over. Like arcade style games. Don't have time for RPG games when friends are over.
I still play PS2 titles to this day. One of them being Rygar: The Legendary Adventure. Also Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
Desth O Sands of time is amazing :)
Fun stuff.
Prince of Persia! I had forgotten that game. It was awesome.
@@destho4308 no dmc is different than onimusha
smackdown here comes the pain, medal of honor frontline and rising sun
Ace combat 5. I can pick that up at any time and still love playing it.
My favourite retro video game TH-cam channel
Driven to Destruction/Test Drive Eve of Destruction is one of my most played PS2 games, and I think it's still one of the best demolition derby games around.
BEST CONSOLE OF ALL TIME...BEST LIBRARY OF ALL TIME...THANKS FOR THIS ONE MJ 🤘🏽🔥
GUNGRAVE YES! Now THAT is a game that needs remade.
The first console I’ve ever owned great memories Jak and Daxter series
I always come back to to Jak 3 since it had the best combat but wasn't as difficult as Jak 2.
@Mammoth Supremacy 55 that's so cute. also if you were born in 2003 you dont know jack shit about gaming.
@@wildjames hey! No need to be an asshole.....
Gaming isn't some elitist hobby dude. Get a grip...
@Mammoth Supremacy 55 that's pretty awesome someone your age is interested in classics, pay no mind to that buzzkiller... Since you have a ps2 I would also suggest collecting ps1 games as well. And there's an accessory for the ps2 called a Brook converter for ps2. It allows you to use wireless ps4 pads on your ps2. It's around 30 bucks. Makes gaming from your couch much more enjoyable!
Love this kind of videos Metal Jesus Rocks!
My all time favorite PS2 game was a game that not many people seem to know about, that game is Steambot Chronicles. Mix of great story telling, mech battles, music playing, and just... I love it.
Currently playing Outrun 2 Coast to Coast, Steeldragon EX and XII Stag on PS2.
Same for Outrun. Still haven't figured out if this game sucks or not. I don't like the drifting and car dodging...
@@manuell3505 Dude, Outrun 2006 is sooo good! Easily my favorite car racer on PS2, I highly recommend playing it with a steering wheel, it's truly the best way to play for that arcade feel!
Manuell I bought that game recently and I feel exactly the same. Ha
Onimusha: 3 Demon Siege With The Greatest Opening CGI Cutscene Ever Made
It’s up there with mortal kombat armogedon intro
Playing through Dragon Quest 8 for the fifth time right now. I also consider WWE Smackdown Here Comes the Pain to be the best pro wrestling game ever made.
I like Shut Your Mouth more, just me though.
@@jsnsbhsueuwnkaowoiwbwhwujw6793 SYM was really good too.
Wwe2k20 blows them both away, obviously ;)
@@RepublicofODLUM I don't know man, ever since 2K20 dropped I've noticed that the graphics of ECW Anarchy Rulz are looking better and better LOL.
Dragon quest 8 OMG what a game
Guitar Hero III. OMG spent MANY hours playing this and blasting the music with my daughters. Just pulled it out recently and it is still super awesome!
Downhill Domination was a game I used to rent from Hollywood Video all the time. Me and my dad we’re trying to remember the name of it the other day!
The games I personally keep going back too are:
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Aliens VS Predator: Extinction
Star Wars Battlefront 2
Kinetica
Lately its been these two:
Star wars episode 3: revenge of the sith and Shadow of rome. Good times
Shadow of Rome is a classic!!!
@@MySplatterhouse I forgot how great that game is! I miss ps2 capcom, they were the best
@@MySplatterhouse yeah, one of my all time favorite. The world needs a proper gladiator game.
What an amazing selection. Absolutely all of them is in my personal favorites list as well.
