I am a woman. I studied in mathematics & I am very “feminine” & Christian. I feel that people hearing Peterson often use that to let go their hate of women. Yes the left goes too far. But the right is worse with all those Zionist Evangelicals pro war^^. Today, left or right, it’a just a trap. Peterson brings nice elements which I agree a lot, but sometimes he becomes dangerous to people too simple to really listen.
I'm in STEM field for almost two decades. The company I belong to is pushing very hard with equalising men and women in our field. My company is using meritocracy in yearly employee performance evaluation for many years. Recently, with gender inclusion and equality, I've witnessed a lot of political move to promote more women. Now, as a woman, that's awesome. My problem with it though is that clearly some of the women who were being pushed for promotion are clearly not ready yet and everyone in the closed-door performance evaluation room knows it! I tried to speak out for a peer of that woman (a male) for promotion and iterated what he has done which is clearly more valuable, but I got shut down. This invalidates all the hard work of rising to the top by women like me for many years in STEM field. If I get promoted to the next level next time, now I have a doubt if its really about the good work I've done for the past year or is it just because I have female parts in between of my legs? So no, in my opinion, equalising the outcome is not good especially for those women in STEM field who tried their very best in rising to the top of their game.
Well said. People in general regardless of gender, race or whatever should be treated equally. People should not be promoted to fulfill a quota, but because their performance deserves it. To do anything else degrades the person, is not good for the business and potentially promotes resentment in the workforce in my opinion.
@markwith140. Well said, except your understanding of equality and equity is backwards. Equality is about equal treatment. Equity is about pushing for equal outcomes, regardless of merit or qualification.
....it's just another political trick by the higher up to crack the whip on labor to become more obedient, more a functionary, more "looking the part"... the corporations now have quotas of equality to fill, they can bully those lower on the hierarchy to "act" the part. It's just Big Brother closing his fist to gain tighter & tighter control over the sheeples behavior, just like ALL governments' response to COVID.
I told a female coworker five years ago, that the only reason why she got the opportunity was because she was female. Yes, she was a good worker. And a hard worker. She lacked the experience for the position. And there were many men, including myself, that way many years of experience than she, who deserved the position. But that what the company wanted. It’s not about male or female. It’s about the best person for the job.
@roven 08 did you even understand what he said? You are essentially agreeing with him Women are paid less because they do not work same as men! If they did work the same as men but were still getting payed less then every capitalist venture would go for the cheaper labour who do the same work for less pay than men?!
Getting Jacked they dont have any truth. Since the beginning of time a certain amount of people have loved playing the victim and creating falsehoods to push an agenda that makes them feel like they have power
dobattlers they do have truth. Do some cops abuse their power? Of course. We’ve seen footage of it. But the majority don’t do that. It’s just the law of percentages. The issue with sjw is that they act like everything is an epidemic and they end up crying wolf because whatever issue they are talking about doesn’t actually happen as often as they claim. Do you get me?
There is no equality (scientifically, mathematically, etc.) without boundaries, rules, and framework. Therefore, freedom cannot exist where there is equality -- particularly equality of outcome. This is an inarguable characteristic of the universe.
most pleasurable part of this for me was when Jordan Peterson kept quiet and stayed composed after talking, to listen to the other speakers but they still didn't make any major point to undermine or invalidate what he had said earlier . ..... LEGENDARY !!!!!!
There was nothing more for him to say, really. He so effortlessly exposed the foolishness of her argument that there was no way for her to recover. His job was done.
HI Rameez K, Jordan is a lot more patient than I would have been. I'm a woman and I wanted to jump down her throat. The blond guy made the most sense. Women still have the babies, and until science finds a way for men to have babies, things won't and can't change. BTW, it's already illegal to pay women less than men for doing the same job.
I dont know where she lives but in my country woman can work wherever she wants as long as she have qualifications to get that job . Where is that unequality and slavary of womans XD
Isn't it funny how that 'freedom' she is talking about is actually wanting to force women into areas of expertise they themselves don't want to be in. There are a bunch of people thinking that equal results is equal to equality, which it isn't. And that is not only in gender department, but also in other stuff like the level of intelligence of someone (which degree/qualifications they have). Forcing 'equality' has actually taken more freedom away. And has actually taken opportunities away from people who have worked for their opportunities, just because we are forcing equal results in gender, equal results in skin-color, equal results religion. Equal in anything but skill and intelligence.
if we measure everyone by what position they hold in government or high paying jobs then no one is equal. Woman can give birth so men are already unequal to women because men cannot give birth (regardless of what modern day people say that have lost touch with reality)
Yep, showed herself up by ignoring the study he quoted and saying "I'm interested in studies such as...."....what she actually meant was she's only interested in studies that prove her point.
Machines can do that, 99% of programmers and mechanical engineers are men too though lol. Most women go for easy jobs, that’s just the way it is. Easy jobs have supply though so the demand is low = low pay. They aren’t asking for an increase in wage for garbage men paid by the gov, only education as it’s mostly female and a cushy job compared to trades or STEM fields.
I don't think the idea of equality means we should force them to do it. Equality means we should allow them to do it if they wish to and are able to, without harassment or prejudice.
Equality is only good for losers, not for winners, who would lose for the sake of miserable losers. Sad thing that there is much more losers and they will pull more and more people with them, because it's just easier to not even work hard, just force others to give their share. Usually they use our feelings, usually females and feminine men (losers) are these or vote for these people. We know them, they are leftist. They can't handle reason, logic, statistics or facts. Immidiate blameshifting and shaminglanguage strikes usually in. If they can't do that, they start to cry, because they got hurt.
@@N0T2BAD Why wouldn't equality of opportunity be good for winners? It's not like they are going to lose now just because everyone has an equal chance. Equality of outcome is stupid though.
@@sulaimans That's already given to most of people. But yep, I agree that it should be in future too of course. But if people don't even realise why you are among those "losers", that isn't any reason to blame and cry about inequality (of outcome). :)

@Chainvelocity CH In an ideal sense perhaps, but most "activists" these days are under the impression that "whining" is in fact doing something important ("raising awareness" and "waking people up" are the common slogan rationales).
Souls aren't real. Your value is your merit and ability. These are physical and mental characteristics. Some people are really smart, but are in a wheelchair. Some people are really strong, but dumb as bricks. Expecting Mike Tyson to be as good a physicist as Stephen Hawking, Stephen Hawking to be as good a boxer as Mike Tyson, or women to work as hard and be as strong and capable as men, is retarded. Equality isn't true of men, and it isn't true of women either. Percentile for percentile, men are better than women at damn near everything. And thanks to traps, we now know that "damn near everything" includes being better at "being women". There are biological differences in both the body and the brain that enforce gender roles and your biology doesn't actually care if your chosen politics find that problematic or not. You can get on board with it, or you can fight it and lose. That's why the gender roles exist. Women are emotional and manipulative and seek dependability and resources and commitment because they raise children, and those skills make them successful at it. Men are strong and responsible and logical because they have to take care of and provide for the family, and those skills make them successful at it. A woman's decisions and opinions don't need to be right, because when she's wrong the man fixes it. So she can be irrational and still raise children. But a man has to be competent, or his role as provider won't actually work, because there's no double-man above him to bail him out. The buck stops with him, which is why the man is the head of the household.
To quote a Twitter post I saw recently: Isn't it amazing that a man who feels he's a woman is "born this way", yet a man who knows he's a man is "a product of social conditioning and environment".
One thing is gender identity as such, the societal norms that apply to each respective gender, after it has been established are a second thing. Differentiating would really help an honest argument, because it decreases the chances if people misunderstanding one another

@@TheBaioken the difference between nature and nurture is more complex than that, certain stereotypes and cliches are present in the media, and it's naiv to believe that that doesn't hold effect on people. Not to say that all of them are bad, and that people might feel comfortable with them. Especially when empowering. As for transgenders, they often feel the need to overperform their gender, because they are scared of not being accepted as transgender otherwise.
I think Jordan made his point, again. OTOH, I was impressed by what the MC said at the end: There was actual discussion and no screaming or name calling and, although, as I said, I think Jordan's point are more factual, the dabate was more than cordial and it was, indeed, wonderful to see.

I am a woman, got my degree in Civil Engineering. Took an engineering job and just didn't enjoy it. Now I am doing something I love, am good, which pays less but I am happy. I agree with Jordan, just let people chose what they want to do and don't teach a little girl that because they are not in STEM then they are not valuable.
@Mr Philips Idiot. What part of "I wasn't happy" didn't you understand? Women making less isn't a problem if they acknowledge that they aren't being discriminated against but rather taking jobs in areas that simply pass less, so long as they are content doing what they so.
The blonde guy doesn't even realize that there is a massive difference between equality of opportunity and outcome. I don't know how Jordan comes out sane after talking to these people.
@@riob7119 equal opportunity would say that if two people have the same skill set ie one man and one woman they will have a completely equal opportunity (ie likelyhood of success in interview) when applying for say a nursing job say (Jordan would certainly agree with this). Equal outcome would say that there should be 50% male nurse and 50% female nurses in a hospital (Jordan does not agree with this). This is because if you took 1,000 men and 1,000 women, a higher number of woman would want to go into a caring profession such as nursing. This is partly environmental, but also partly genetic. If you tried to equalise everything in the environment as they have tried in Scandanavia more woman would still want to do nursing as this is a genetic trait. So paradoxically if you decide equal outcome is essential people will have less choice at doing things they actually want to do.
@@riob7119 JBP explains it well in the video. But sure, let me give a try. Equal opportunity ensures that regardless of which groups you belong to as an individual, you are provided with the same rights and the same access to the opportunities. For example, say there are 10 vacancies for a job in a company. Regardless of your gender, race, sexual orientation or what not, you are eligible to submit an application in order to be considered for the job. Equality of outcome is about prioritizing the group identities. Your group identity takes the primary focus and your individual character takes the secondary focus. So considering the same example above, if the company wants to ensure equality of outcome, they will select the 10 hires according to the proportions of numerous groups in the population. If women account for 50% of the population 5 vacancies should go to women. If 30% of the population are from the minority race, 3 vacancies should go to the candidates from that race. If 10% of the population are gay, then at least 1 gay person should get the job. Equality of outcome completely ignores the individual capabilities, social, cultural and biological contexts. It simply talks about quotas. Quota for women, quota for colored, quota for gay, quota for this and quota for that. It is a never ending catastrophe, which could result in right person not getting the opportunity. Plus if you are an individual in a group, which they think that deserves a quota, even if you did get the job solely based on your merits, you will think of yourself, and will be labeled within your peers as a quota entry, which is highly unfair, yet cannot avoid as long as we practice quotas. If you are a girl, You wouldn't want to be a "girl" engineer. You would just want to be an ENGINEER.

You mean she did amazing keeping her cool despite him interruption constantly to ramble off the same old MRA bs talking points about bricklayers and dangerous jobs. And men and women are a lot more similar in Scandinavia than anywhere else in the world. On the dating scene, Scandi women for instance make the first move almost as often as the guy. There can be many reasons fewer women there choose stem. There is 0 proof that it's down to equality.
Very true. In software development it's a very small percentage of women. I am a developer myself. I have only worked with men more than women. All the 10 years of my experience, I have been working as a single woman candidate in the entire Engineering team. Women start as a developer. Then they either get married and don't work or they switch to managerial side as they don't want to work under pressure.
As a Scandinavian, it's just infuriating to see others use us as an example, but doing it wrong. Jordan is 100% right. We are given the CHOICE to do what we want. Not forced. If women don't turn up to vote for other women, then don't force men out to make room for women.

Jordan: Two plus two equals four. Feminist: I want it to be six. Jordan: But it isn't. Feminist: But since I'm an optimist, I still think it could be six. Jordan: Whatever.
It's been interesting in the past few years to see the swing back to women realizing that they can have the privilege of staying in the home if they want to. My mom worked incredibly hard, building her business from the ground up to provide for her family. It was her dream to stay home and raise her kids, but as it turned out, she was always torn between providing and being present. Equality is having autonomy to choose your life and to be valued by society. It isn't about which gender makes the most money. Feminism in its current form is selling a bad deal.
@ The Cove: I would have loved to have lunch with you or gone on a long beach hike where we could draw stuff in the sand. We could have had "down and dirty" conversations (honest, realistic ) about gender differences. But, socially constructed underlying gender issues usually prevent this types of free dialogs. I love strong honest women who tell truths boldly and as free of feminist crap as possible. Trust me, men and women are very different in many ways.... and biology is basically why.
It reminds me of the discussion he had with Helen Lewis where he said that the conversation was boring and predictable because everything she was saying was mouthpiece leftist ideology. As with Lewis, the woman in the video was regurgitating the same feminist doctrine over and over, not even opening her own mind to listening what Peterson was saying.
What's sad is we already have equal choices, women just choose fields that are different. Which is fine, but it's the exact reason why we'll never have equality of outcome.
Jordan: 1 + 1 = 2. Fact Feminist: I like facts too, but I want it to equal 3 so I will follow my feelings and hope reality changes one day regardless of studies which show women and men prefer different careers.

After I got my bachelors in physics (with astrophysics) I didn't go into it further because I didn't want to be fighting an uphill battle for the rest of my life, being viewed as "lesser than". I found some writing that I "wanted it" on the desks in the lecture halls, and even though I came top of Advanced Quantum Physics (shocking!) I just couldn't be bothered with the shock and awe that I faced everywhere that I studied physics and was a girl. A few years later I got a masters in clinical research and entered the life sciences industry which is filled with women. I have worked with 90% women ever since and I never feel out of place or like anyone is judging me. But I'm still aware that I was a more capable physicist than the vast majority of males on that course.
I absolutely believe what you say, and am truly angry that you got the way you were treated. Men in the workplace can still act like jerks, I suspect that you could still have risen up the ladder if your work had warranted it if you had stayed. Cream rises. As a young man I was treated similarly by women when I worked in a work place where I was the only man in a female dominated workplace. It needs a more balanced workplace, bur that still needs to be based on merit. Workplace impropriety needs to be addressed at the same time.
When was that? Personally given the affirmative action type of policy for the past decades, particularly past few years, when a woman or a minority excluding Asians got the job or won the highly contested scholarship, I wondered is it because of equity policy? That kind of mindset of course hurt women and minorities who got there by their own merits, but how an outsider knows, given so brazen equity policies. Like the SP 500 companies for the past three years only 6% of their new hires are white in a white dominant country.
“What does equality mean to you?” The opportunity to fight for and achieve what one wants regardless of gender, race, or political alignment. imo it doesn't mean I want this because I'm equal to you so I deserve to have it even though I'm not qualified for it.
I've had 2 separate jobs in construction. I did residential framing and ran a cnc/installed countertops. Guess how many women we had working for us! Zero. And its not because they wouldn't hire women. Its just none applied. I now work for a restaurant. We have 16 females and only 6 guys. With 8 females compared to 3 males who are 20 and older. Women choice not to go into better paying fields.
It is virtually impossible to have equality of outcome and equality of choice, they are mutually exclusive, and it's ridiculously obvious to anyone with half a brain.
Looking at how he already convinced one person. I think coming to shows like these is the least waste of time. Preaching to the choir is a waste of time. There is something to gain here instead.
The eye opening omission is the "end results". Just for sh*t and giggles, put men VS women brick layers. Let's see WHO will finish the job first. ALL business owners will choose the most efficient team. I'm not saying women can't do the job but...time is money.
Oh yeah, it's incredibly transparent. I've never heard a single feminist argue that more women should go into waste management, powerline repair, mining, construction, etc. All the disgusting, hazard-pay jobs that most people are lucky to not have to do.
On the surface that would seem like a good arguement. but i can imagine already that her response would be that they are just fallling into the stereotypes that are forced upon them. Part of the reason that their arguements still live on despite the evidence pointing the other way is that they can easily disregard the evidence. The point in the video above where this is most obvious is when Jordan said that the Scandanavian countries are trying it and failing. She responed by saying, well they aren't there yet. She like all the equality of outcome supporters has built up a huge repository of arguements and counters that bypass the evidence. It makes them very difficult to effectively debate on short interviews because you dont have time to pull apart each arguement. but if She were put against him in a longform debate, I think it would be much easier to tear down her arguements.
The fact that schools, media and so many people are trying to push women in STEM fields and the numbers are not increasing might be a sign that its more a choice than anything else.
They understand, they just don't want it to be true. The left (left brain dominant) have a great capacity for empathy, however the left brain also pushes emotion over logic and fantasy over reality. Thats why so many of their ideas are great in theory and catastrophic in practice. Just study any country that tried socialism or any kind of collectivism... They all had good intentions... They all killed millions...
If it were so easy... Unfortunately, I don't think we can afford to be so complacently partisan any longer. The right has just as much to account for. In the age of information, it is simply too easy to figure out that this two party system has long become a circus intended to dull our senses and blind our wits. Even the founding fathers warned against it; and for good reason. We're all American and we're all human.
Gregg Everman so far they are trying to make them censored. Because the loudest people are thinking he’s a horrible person. The majority agree with him.
Well actually, if she was quick enough, the answer would have been yes. By putting in programmes that equalize men and women by REDUCING the number of men in prison down to the same no. as women in prison.
chambo1010 Yeah, we’re investing so much focus in pushing women ahead because they’re “disadvantaged”. How about some attention to males from low-socioeconomic backgrounds to reduce incarceration numbers?? That’s a more clear-cut pressing problem to me. Then the feminists will say “but they choose to do crimes”... but don’t women “choose to do lower paid occupations, degrees, hours, etc”?? Then they’ll say “yes but that’s because of gender-normative social pressure etc”... okay “what if that’s the case for low-socioeconomic male felons “... feminist: “but they choose to do crimes”... me: “okay but why”... feminists “because they just do”.. me: “no, be fair, you have to give *some* reason/s”... feminist is then logically cornered to say either male biology/hormones, or social conditioning/pressure for lower-socioeconomic men, or some combination. If they say biology, then that’s straight up hypocrisy, since I say biology is a reason women make lower paid career choices (ie having kids, working less, for “female” careers etc), OR if they say socio-cultural reasons, then that’s the same argument they are giving for females not enrolling in STEM university courses... or if they say discrimination is a cause, then same thing, that’s what they say about the gender pay gap - same thing, hypocrisy. Regardless of which reason they pick, male incarceration rates is at least just as much of a problem as gender pay gap. If they refuse to choose to acknowledge reasons for men’s “choice” to commit crimes (ie. the reason is just that they “choose”) then that means it’s equally valid for me to say the same thing that it’s just that across the board women “choose” lower paid work situations. The truth is, for both issues, it’s different combinations of all of these factors. I think there’s a much more solid case for lower-socioeconomic men being “discriminated” against by the system then for women being “discriminated” against in this day and age.
That argument didn’t even make sense. What does it have to do with anything? Jordan usually gives great arguments so I put him at a far higher standard than that. You kinda come off as one of those people who behaves in a way he doesn’t really condone. Like you probably go around talking about leftists this and leftists that and call them libtards. You can’t have real thoughts or opinions when you’re so heavily bias.

"Jordan is interested in scientific and evolutionary data, I'm interested in society and its gender bias" In other words JP is interested in facts, her in non-provable theories that men are sitting around thinking of ways to hold women back.
This is a huge issue with the left(American Left for my example). The Right will just deny studies but they are consistent on what they deny, while the Left cherry pick to their agenda and tend to be very hypocritical because of it and typically illogical. They echo chamber hard and if you corner one in a debate its very easy to out wit them
When she says "I think the difference between me and Jordan is..." that sentence should end with "he looks at actual data and makes rational conclusions where I want to live in a fantasy land"

@Hello Bruh You thought 100 pound, 5 foot 2 girls would be good working in an extreme challenging behaviour unit restraining grown men that can flip out at any second that punch, kick, bite and headbutt? They are not their mothers so that "motherhood instinct" doesn't exist in this setting. What does exist in this setting is them shouting and screaming every time for help. Also lets say that you have an extreme service user that can display for 14 hours a day, that is extremely physically strong that requires 3 people to be around him at all times and you are put with two little girls for 14 hour shifts a day. Lets take the other day for example where the girls couldn't hold him down and let go of a restraint 12 times in 5 minutes leading to him sitting up and biting my neck area. Luckily I was wearing a hoodie and he only manged to bite the cloth but that could of been me done for. Something happens like this weekly. I have been threatened with sexual discrimination because I brought this issue up with my manager. What few men work at my job literally just run around all day saving these girls from being fucked up.
@Lzb Lmvm Women aren't dumb. Certain cultures and societies have indoctrinated women into believing an illusion about how this world works. Overall I think women are smart but they have bought a lie that seems flattering to them that all their problems can be blamed on "men", and this "patriarchal" society. And if we can just remove men, or weaken men, or destroy men, then suddenly feminine problems will largely go away. They are wrong.
"We need to get boys thinking about nursing and teaching" I can assure you that many men are heavily stigmatized by women for being nurses and teachers
So you agree with the premise then. If men are stigmatized for being nurses, does it then suggest women are stigmatized for getting into stem fields? I’m not for quotas in stem and personally believe there is an aggregate interest gap formed by biological factors. What you are saying suggests that these biological trenches are dug deeper by societal expectations. You’re making her point.
It's not fair to say that particularly women are the ones to stigmatize men for being nurses. Some do, some do not--depending on the kind of person. Some men do it too. Conclusion: People, irregardless of gender, have a lot to say about other people. One could either choose to be affected by it or ignore the stigmatization. Same applies for girls in STEM fields. Trust me, they ignore all those barbs that come their way.
@@SeldomPooper Don't get me wrong I don't feel that the idea that women are stigmatised is what holds them back. I was merely pointing out the initial comment sounds like that argument reversed. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't agree that sexism is holding back men from being nurses. I think there's more stigma as a man saying you're a car salesman or parking inspector than a nurse. I just don't agree with the premise that men are stigmatised by women for being nurses. That does not sound right to me. Therefore, it makes sense when I say the reverse that is women are stigmatised by men for being in STEM. There is one difference though, men are taught to take rejection better than women generally. Therefore the few men that might scoff at a woman scientist would be more affective (generally) to discouraging woman than the reverse. It is ironically what is great about women. They are more conscientious than men meaning they care more what others think.

To be fair, Jordan's debate against Matt Dillahunty about god, was painful in both directions, but mostly the other way around, in that one Jordan was the one weaseling out of things and being ridiculous the most.
At least he's making money and inspiring a few people...the world is crazy.... Social role theory is nuts... Give a girl a gun toy and she will paint a face on it and took it in to a blanket at night ..give a boy a Barbie and he will pretend it's a gun😆
Inside, I can guarantee that he's fuming, he's just fantastic at maintaining his composure and being patient. He knows that if he listens carefully, he can better rebut any points someone makes because he won't misrepresent their perspective.
@@ianwulf24 I don't know about fuming. I find it difficult to listen when I'm angry. Also, its kinda hard to dwell on how something that was said makes you feel when you're constantly trying to be attentive to the ongoing discussion. Maybe JP got upset looking back on the things that were said here but I doubt he had time to in the moment.
I think the lady understands it... because of empathy, just because she didnt say all the ideas, it doesnt mean she doesnt agree with his point... and women are considered as great for taking care of kids, that women realised they have to be patient with the small kids, who create lot of mess in house, because kids from 0 to 7 are highly creative according to scientists, because kids brain is in state of theta which means imagination, so kids dont have ability to understand what is wrong what is good, so the mothers have lot of work with them all day to protect them........while men dont have the same amount of patience, and men desire to do creative jobs, to have potential of the jobs....instead of sitting all day with 2 year old, and feed the kid and bath the kid and wash the clothes..Women realize they also want the creative job to feel a freedom and not depend only on men, who bring money to house, but they also love motherhood, but its difficult to do both.. I think some women understand the hardships of men and their jobs, but women only dislike arrogant types of men, who are competitive but dont have other values... and of course there may be women who dont understand men, but its great if both understand each other.
Jordan said excellent thing...Men have most difficult job that women cant do, building houses etc..... I think he is right.. I am woman too, its great when someone says it honestly, and women understand it.. Women like honesty... but of course some fight for the equality for other reasons.. As in some companies, women work hard and have less money than men, who dont work physically so hard... For example my colleague worked 20 year in company of paper production.. She said they had also nice male collagues, but also not so good ones.. For example the guy got 3 times more money, but he didnt have to work physically so much as the women did... he turned on the machine and whole day was sitting in chair, just sometimes he controlled the machine, while the women were running around the room whole time, he was sitting... So she felt its unfair that he is sitting all the time and has much more money than the ones who are doing the physical work....So maybe if women will fight for equality for physical workers.... maybe even male physical workers may benefit from it... No workers should be abused male or female...Because then the women are exhousted and can not give as much attention to their kids and husbands etc.
@Major T. Poirier Not really. I think she was trying to say: "I'm interested in people being able to have different choices (equal opportunities), and equality of outcome will be the result" Which of course, like J.Peterson points out, is not the result we are currently seeing (in Scandinavia).
If you remember Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook fame wrote a book a few years back called "Lean In". When she was promoting the book I remember a statement she made that stuck with me: "We gave women more choices, but they didn't always make the right choice." Most feminists are fascists, when they're talking about choice and opportunity, they're really telling people to follow their directives.
Freedom and equality (of outcome) are mutually exclusive. I can't beleive she made herself look that silly within the first twelve seconds of the clip.
It's laughable how this woman says she's interested in data too, but totally disregards the data out of Scandinavia, because that data rebuts her belief system.
Yeah its pretty silly, its a good lesson for us all though. Every person displays cognitive dissonance at times and reject new information, we have to be careful and self aware or we fall into the same trap.
@@bly2790 because there is not much data available regarding the specific questions she is asking. If you listen really well and think real hard you would ascertain this from the discussion. And she still didn’t address his points.
She literally ignores JP about Scandinavia and more or less quotes the California study because it supports her rather than paying attention to what he's saying. Despite everyone's theories on her side of the argument saying Men and Women become the same in an Egalitarian society, the Scandinavian countries are showing men and women as choosing very different things. I think they refuse to acknowledge his point and say they haven't "Gotten there yet" to avoid admitting their theories are wrong. Which is troubling sibce they'd rather be the winning team than the correct one.
Yep pretty much. She also compared one study done in Southern California to a meta analysis of over 10,000 studies. Notice her job, the method by which she feeds & clothes herself. Is dependent on her idea that women are treated unequally.
Mad Law this is the exact truth to what you just watched. The exact. They are both looking at the same empirical data. The difference is that one is looking at it from a clinical standpoint and the other is seeing the data based on a feeling of bias. If you don’t like the data presented you will find a way to warp the data to suit your needs if you are biased. The hard part, for any human, is to separate your feelings and look at it in a way that suggests the true meaning even if it’s not something you like to hear.
@@BigBri550 right, I'm for equal opportunity....as is Jordan from what he says. You're missing his point though... people want both, and by how it will play out you'll never have both. It makes complete sense.

When you talk to the same types of people, you tend to get a similar type of answer. When you hear that type of answer, you learn what to say through trial and error. Basically, to have self-control, you must exercise it. Simply put, TALK TO LOTS OF PEOPLE and you will learn self-control.

Go as black Americans what the consequences of this exact thought process on public policy has gotten them... pure destruction. This is the reason and nothing else. Whether you agree with her or not has absolutely nothing to do with anything.
@Johnny Pitbull He was saying that people attempting to speak on behalf of all black people worsens the groups outcome as a whole, not anything inherently wrong with the group as a whole. I don't think I quite agree with this view, but I can say it clearly isn't racist (if anything advocating for treating a race of people as a bunch of individuals rather than a unified group is a step in a less racist direction).
I was getting this exact same vibe. That's why before you even have a conversation with her, you have to ask her what her definitions are, because it's probably not found in the dictionary nor is it found in any peer reviewed social science literature vetted by professionals. If you find that your definition and hers don't match, it's game over. It's a pointless conversation at that point because it's all about feelings and less science.

Of course men and women aren't equal.
Men and men aren't even equal.
Thanks for clarifying.

Can someone explain the difference of equality of outcome and oppurtunity
How Jordan Peterson manages to keep his cool talking to people like this will never cease to amaze me.
It is because he actually follows the rules from his book especially rule 9 assume the the person you listen to might know something you don't. He actually listen to what the other say and doesn't wait to press his own points.

Very true. In software development it's a very small percentage of women. I am a developer myself. I have only worked with men more than women. All the 10 years of my experience, I have been working as a single woman candidate in the entire Engineering team. Women start as a developer.

You can literally see her brain turn off as she looks away when Jordan starts laying down facts.
Then she has the audacity to throw his rule number #9 at him. She didn't read to learn from the book, she read it to use against him.
You know, there are better male physicists than you
And don't you think the life sciences should be equalised so that men have equal numbers there?

Bahahahah

So you agree with the premise then. If men are stigmatized for being nurses, does it then suggest women are stigmatized for getting into stem fields? I’m not for quotas in stem and personally believe there is an aggregate interest gap formed by biological factors. What you are saying suggests that these biological trenches are dug deeper by societal expectations. You’re making her point.
@@AIenSmithee Women are not stigmatized at all for being in stem fields.

@@lancelmccune I don’t know what that is I guess is a sports team or something. Of course they are gonna choose all males because they are physically more adécuate to get done the job that’s required, and that’s just because of fisiologícal nature. Did you saw that thing that happened 2 days ago where a girl kicked a ball in a football game, the team trying to be all progressive and stuff, (She didn’t had to present any kind of test to show she was better than the other ones available, they only gave her the chance cause she was a girl) You know what happened? she only took it to 30 yards, the team lost by more than 40 points and the head coach was fired 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thats why Jordan brought up the brick workers do you also wanna equalize that? NO. That’s why society to try to gave women that experience they wanted to lived, they rightfully so, created things like the WNBA so they can do what they want AT THEIR OWN LVL. This is just a nature condition that you cannot change.
@@nicoduran98 may I add that the women kicker kicked once, made a terrible halftime speech by blaming her team almost, and they didnt just lose by more than 40, they lost 41-0
That’s right. That’s what capitalism is. It’s the equality of opportunity. It’s up to those who want to take that opportunity. The outcome will not be equal. If it was, that would be communism.
@@Alex-Proud-American Wait so it was 1 girl in a team of guys vs a guys team?
Watching him debate literally anyone is such a painful experience. I mean, I can actually FEEL this poor man's pain. He looks so tired.
To be fair, Jordan's debate against Matt Dillahunty about god, was painful in both directions, but mostly the other way around, in that one Jordan was the one weaseling out of things and being ridiculous the most.
@@medexamtoolscom Did you watch Dawkins vs Pell?
@starshine343 I feel like he's just tired of saying the same thing over and over again and it STILL not getting through.
The people he is debating aren't at his level. They just repeat willing ignorance . How much can one take of that?
At least he's making money and inspiring a few people...the world is crazy.... Social role theory is nuts... Give a girl a gun toy and she will paint a face on it and took it in to a blanket at night ..give a boy a Barbie and he will pretend it's a gun😆
I love how he sits there with no emotion on his face, and patiently destroys people🤣🤣🤣
If you get mad, you already lost the discussion.
When u try to argue with a computer 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The comment "I'm interested in people being able to have different choices and having equality of outcome" is asinine on its face.
vinniedisco7 That's the feminist oxymoron.
@Major T. Poirier Not really. I think she was trying to say: "I'm interested in people being able to have different choices (equal opportunities), and equality of outcome will be the result"
Which of course, like J.Peterson points out, is not the result we are currently seeing (in Scandinavia).
@Major T. Poirier Yes of course, I agree 100%. Did I say anything opposing that?
@Major T. Poirier Yeah, I´d say deluded is more likely ;) One can only hope she´ll look more into it and change her mind. Not betting at it though.
If you remember Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook fame wrote a book a few years back called "Lean In". When she was promoting the book I remember a statement she made that stuck with me: "We gave women more choices, but they didn't always make the right choice." Most feminists are fascists, when they're talking about choice and opportunity, they're really telling people to follow their directives.
lol, she couldn't even explain what "equality" is.
First thought that went through my mind as well.
Freedom 💀
Freedom and equality (of outcome) are mutually exclusive. I can't beleive she made herself look that silly within the first twelve seconds of the clip.
Yes, I cringed when she said Equality for her is Freedom.
Roll Tide Roll!
It's laughable how this woman says she's interested in data too, but totally disregards the data out of Scandinavia, because that data rebuts her belief system.
Welcome to the political left

Yeah its pretty silly, its a good lesson for us all though. Every person displays cognitive dissonance at times and reject new information, we have to be careful and self aware or we fall into the same trap.
Yeah funny how he constantly brings up the same country and same statistics over and over again
@@bly2790 because there is not much data available regarding the specific questions she is asking. If you listen really well and think real hard you would ascertain this from the discussion. And she still didn’t address his points.
She says “freedom” like she’s just made such a brilliant and breakthrough statement.
He’s lowkey pissed because EVERYTIME he states facts, they don’t listen and truly understand 🤌🏾 I understand your pain.
Yes! They hide behind "theories" and dismiss facts as "theories". I'm frustrated for him!
This is Kali-Yuga now Clown-Yuga.

Jordan is 1000% right, it's impossible to have equal opportunity and equal outcome
Equal outcome isn't the point: equal opportunity is. Equal opportunity is possible if we will allow it to be.

I would pay serious money to learn how to be able to hold my self and control my self like this man does
When you talk to the same types of people, you tend to get a similar type of answer. When you hear that type of answer, you learn what to say through trial and error. Basically, to have self-control, you must exercise it. Simply put, TALK TO LOTS OF PEOPLE and you will learn self-control.

No but they feel like they do. They often see themselves as the porte-parole of all their "kind" and that's dangerous when going online/live and being seen/heard by a lot of people.
Agreed, she doesn't speak for me.
Hear hear!!!...
You're actually wrong about that. There are droves of these aggressively dumb people advocating on your behalf based on wrong premises just as she is.
