Sonos makes great products and they keep getting better
Would you recommend this as a primary music player? I would use it for TV and movies also but most likely music would be the dominant use.

I have a full Sonos set up in the living room. (Arc, rear Era300’s, and Sub gen3). So Sonos is great. But to me in regards to the market for this size sound bar. The king is the Bose 600. Really unbeatable with the up firing atmos speakers. Way more bass right off the bat too. And can also have a sub added. And this week they’re $399. This size is really best for a second room or bedroom. So unless you need a white sound bar since Bose doesn’t make the 600 in white then to me that’s the way to go with this particular size.
Had mine since release day day 1 including sonos 1s and a sub gen 3 full surround set up dolby atmos in games like re2 remake is amazing watched two movies other night one in 5.1 one in atmos and both were amazing..it fully allows passthru of every format from pro logic 1 and 2 to atmos. And will pick up direction cues even on yt vids iv had yt bids one person's voice is rear speaker other voicemail on bar as tho the bean is understanding the positioning .any pro,logicm2 on yt recordings is picked perfectly

Same. Plugged it in and sounded cool. AND THEN, I went to my PS5 sound settings and made the proper adjustments and had the whole living room transported inside the movie!
Thanks for the video! But I have a concern with this Sonos device beam 2. When you turn off the tv, does the Sonos beam 2 also turn off or stay on? Also, when you just playing music from the Sonos app, how do you turn off the bar? Because the only option I have is to pause the sound but the bar is still on.
Let me know if you can turn off this sound bar when not in used.

You have to unplug it…I hate that about this soundbar. It’s constantly on and connected to wifi for convenience but I don’t want it sucking power 24/7

Purchased the Sonos Beam Gen 1 a few months before I knew the Gen 2 was released (would have waited if I knew). Even the Gen 1 Beam matched up with Gen 3 Sub and 2 rear Symfonisk bookshelf speakers sounds FANASTIC with m LG OLED 55" C1. The great thing about adding a sub or rear speakers is the Beam doesn't have to work producing those frequencies/channels and moves them to the sub and surrounds. The Beam will have even sound better once you add the sub and surrounds.
I did the opposite thought gen 2 already existed looked to buy it and it was released that week on the Friday and I was hours before reviews went live, so ordered right there and then yhe whole kit sub rears everything perfect timing

an amp and speaker set or even a mini hifi system will knock the spots off soundbars.

It can’t be put into standby so is not green and is costly over the course of a year
Power cable is removable tho
I bought a Beam Gen 2 and can't tell a difference between it and the old Vizio sound bar I had. I plugged it in expecting amazing sound, and to my ear it just sounds the same. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not.
