The good thing about this Sonos setup is that you can buy two additional speakers for real surround experience, for example 2 ikea symphonisk speaker lamps (which are Sonos and compatible, and at a good price) which you can equip with smart bulbs (such as philips hue) so you'll have 2 additional speaker, "undercover" as table lamps for your room

I’m honestly surprised you didn’t bring up the fact that Sonos continues to not support DTS decoding on their soundbars. It’s kind of a big deal for people with Blu-ray collections as the vast majority of Blu-rays that don’t have an object-based surround sound track use DTS-HD Master Audio instead of Dolby TrueHD, meaning that the audio has to be converted into a DD signal if you want to get surround sound with your Sonos surround setup. EDIT: The future called. Sonos now supports DTS decoding on their soundbars.
@Filip Gimell I sold the entire set but just because I was in need of money, I wish I still had the set and I plan on buying a set in the future again. The app was also a bit laggy sometimes, but this was just for the first couple months. I don't remember when it was exactly but they came with a big software update and it made everything work effortlessly like it should. I personally see Sonos as a good brand, like Apple-tier, they make good quality products but it is a bit expensive, for the same amount of money (or less) you could get a nice wired system but with Sonos you're paying mostly for the simplicity of setup and use and for me that was worth it and the sound quality is great imo too. If you are taking the plunge i'd say definitely get a sub with it, imo its a must (unless you get the Five's, even then it would be a very nice touch)

I’ve been a sonos user for about 2 years and I am nearly always frustrated with the software. Since it’s necessary to connect to a wifi, for the sonos one anyways, I can’t use it without needing to connect it to the wifi. That wouldn’t be a huge problem, but I have 2 wifis and often have to switch between both of them. More often than not, my sonos speaker constantly skips songs, saying that there’s something wrong with the audio format or it couldn’t find the song. However, after playing through the whole playlist and coming back to the same song, it can play it perfectly fine. That applies to nearly every song in my playlist. Not to mention, you can’t watch youtube videos with the speaker or play any other type of media if you’re on android. And with an iPhone, it’s still very finniky as sometimes when I play a youtube video with an ad, a whole text saying that it’s playing an ad covers the entire screen, and after the ad is over, it remains there. This happens basically 1 in 3 videos I play, so I stopped watching youtube with those ridiculous speakers. Sometimes airplay doesn’t want to connect my iPad or iPhone to the speaker, so there’s that. Huge rant, but the lesson in the end is just get a bluetooth speaker, portable or home setup, because it damn well would be so much easier to fking deal with
@@isakgustavsen6536 And i have a perfeclty capable Technics cd/vcr (so regular RCA inputs, can plug cell phone, blutooth dac)/phono/cass/radio player that was bought used in 1991 and still works perfeclty (had to change the cass belts). Not even the fan broke (even though i should lubricate it).

What Linus didn’t tell you is that you can hook up two Sonos 1s or two Sonos 5s to make it more or a true surround sound or a 5.0.2 unless you have a subwoofer then it’s a 5.1.2
I just bought a LG atmos sound bar, as someone who has used 5.1 stereos since about 2000 I can say it definitally doesn't suck, though the price does. Also the fact I don't need any apps sold me.
Just replaced my Nakamichi 7.2.4 with the Arc system (two Gen 3 subs and two Fives for surrounds). Easy set-up, the app works without issue, easy to hear/understand dialogue on LG OLED 77C1, sounds just as good with music, and no fiddling with the settings other than volume. I already had two Beam systems (sub+surrounds) in my office and Master bedroom.
The sub is dope...quick tip...if you get 2 surround speaker, then hook ethernet to the arc...they kept switching addresses everytime the system turned on and actually would get lost.
Hi Linus! Your sister channel ShortCircuit did a review on the Sonos Ray. The quality of that review was so much more fulfilling and the soundbar was demonstrated with both the highs and low peaks. Please compare as the Ray review outperformed this review by miles.
Soundbars are for space saving, with the additional of a sub woofer, the sound overall is acceptable, but they will not have the power that a large system can give. Its simply not possible to get powerful quality sound from tiny full range speakers in a tiny cheap plastic enclosure due to its size and lack of coupling to the air.
I've installed 3 of these and sound amazing but... 1) if you use it with a samsung tv your gonna not be a happy camper 2) you can use an HDMI(ARC) cable and it'll still be fine.

Linus basically confirming that he's a brony in the comments makes me so happy lmao.
I'm also really surprised to see the comments aren't toxic towards bronies at all.
Are there really that many MLP fans that also watch LTT? Cause if so, that's pretty neat ^^
Loads of us! Most don’t comment much
Yeah I'm pretty glad on the lack of toxic comments as well
We're all nerds here
@@octaviondeminicolas1941 yep tbh lol
Yep! Still into the show
I’ve been a sonos user for about 2 years and I am nearly always frustrated with the software. Huge rant, but the lesson in the end is just get a bluetooth speaker, portable or home setup, because it damn well would be so much easier to fking deal with
please please please make a video on the new Sonos Arc Ultra coming out. The sound motion thing sounds too good to be true for a 1K price tag.
the editor knows Linus watches my little pony by himself and uses his kids as an excuse. 🤣
Linus gay confirmed
@@milojkokitic6991 I get that this is probably a joke, but just for clarification:
Not everyone who watched mlp is gay. (Don't woooosh me)
8:36 that could have been staged and we wouldn't have ever know. Keep up the could sponsor Segways they really make me remember the product.

YET. Wait a couple years for them to disable them in an update or something in the future.
Stop being drama queens. They supported some of the older stuff for almost 15 years
@@isakgustavsen6536 And i have a perfeclty capable Technics cd/vcr (so regular RCA inputs, can plug cell phone, blutooth dac)/phono/cass/radio player that was bought used in 1991 and still works perfeclty (had to change the cass belts). Not even the fan broke (even though i should lubricate it).
They've not disabled any of their audio products though? They even provide support still for devices 15+ years old. GTFO with your biased uninformed comments lmao
@@faux_hobo The app has been supported for over 15 years. Biased uninformed comments are so fucking obvious lmao
@@faux_hobo why are you spreading false information about something you don't know then?
The best 3 things about a soundbar is:
Form factor
Fits perfectly below the screen, covering the few cables you can see, going down below the tv-stand
Better than the built in speakers
Mine fits perfectly in between my tv's feet. :)
I just ordered the arc today, being delivered tomorrow as an update from my old playbar. Can't wait!
How do you like it?
it is absolutely superb
What camping trip video is playing on the TV? Must've missed that one!
I think it is this:

"This week on LTT we -tricked- got a company to send over more tech, so we can put in Linus house!"
hehe, Linus is a brony.
I ordered this soundbar less than an hour before you uploaded this video
I honest feel like Linus’s kids will grow up with just the coolest shit ever cause he’s Linus and he’s able to do all kinds of crazy cool shit to his house. Imagine the conversations at school, ( oh yeah I got a giant tv that hangs above my bath in the bathroom. ) like that’d be normal for his kids.
When you’re to early to read good comments
in this video: linus repeats three time how good the clarity is but completely skips telling us how good the "surround sound" works.
'cmmon man.
Soundbars don't have surround
I don't give two hoots about surround. - LS
I mean, it's a sound bar.... It can't be real surround sound, that requires rear speakers at minimum o.O
@@LinusTechTips use headphones like a real man
@@LinusTechTips Hate to break it to you but some of your viewers do. Since most of them use soundbars for home theater experience.
I should probably be getting my schoolwork done
What Linus didn’t tell you is that you can hook up two Sonos 1s or two Sonos 5s to make it more or a true surround sound or a 5.0.2 unless you have a subwoofer then it’s a 5.1.2
Love those info graphics. High energy yet clean. Good work who ever worked on it
4:31 what the hell is the video here
Yeah, also want to know this.
Looks like his camping & Moto Z giveaway th-cam.com/video/LHJoyREobok/w-d-xo.html
Even when I have TH-cam Premium, Linus always brings in ADs about his sponsors
Floatplane...
TH-cam Vanced automatically skips sponsor slots ;)
I just bought a LG atmos sound bar, as someone who has used 5.1 stereos since about 2000 I can say it definitally doesn't suck, though the price does. Also the fact I don't need any apps sold me.
The phone call transition at the end, great ^^
Just replaced my Nakamichi 7.2.4 with the Arc system (two Gen 3 subs and two Fives for surrounds). Easy set-up, the app works without issue, easy to hear/understand dialogue on LG OLED 77C1, sounds just as good with music, and no fiddling with the settings other than volume. I already had two Beam systems (sub+surrounds) in my office and Master bedroom.
Linus 3 days ago - "Nvidia 3000 series isn't all that"
Linus today - "We're sponsored by non-slip rug mats!"
lmao linus got clowned "we all knoe his kids weren't there" im dead
Linus: upgrades his house with expensive hardware
Also Linus: that’s a business expense
👀🤗
The sub is dope...quick tip...if you get 2 surround speaker, then hook ethernet to the arc...they kept switching addresses everytime the system turned on and actually would get lost.
I think this was my favorite sponsor segway, well done
"A sound bar that doesn't suck" Roll credits.
Linus: Buys a product and forgets about it
Product: Please. Review me
Its cold, i am hungry
"It even looks good in my living room"
*shows a picture that's not in his living room*
Better late than never but I would say that to really appreciate the full experience, you need to add two rear surrounds like a pair Sonos One SL's.
Hi Linus! Your sister channel ShortCircuit did a review on the Sonos Ray.
The quality of that review was so much more fulfilling and the soundbar was demonstrated with both the highs and low peaks.
Please compare as the Ray review outperformed this review by miles.
"Right, now I'm holding the sword that cut's through anything and whoops!"
"Linus, you drop-"
Linus should have answered the phone to make them listen to the segway to the sponsor of the day
But that wouldn’t of Been a smooth transition to the sponsor unlike this transition to our sponsor...

@Josiah Strong Starxie best ship 11/10
Soundbars are for space saving, with the additional of a sub woofer, the sound overall is acceptable, but they will not have the power that a large system can give. Its simply not possible to get powerful quality sound from tiny full range speakers in a tiny cheap plastic enclosure due to its size and lack of coupling to the air.
I've installed 3 of these and sound amazing but...
1) if you use it with a samsung tv your gonna not be a happy camper
2) you can use an HDMI(ARC) cable and it'll still be fine.
What’s wrong with it with a Samsung?
