I adore these cars. My dream car believe it or not is a marina,I would personally have a GT in BR green with a white pinstripe, white vinyl roof with a custom white interior,I hate how people don't take me seriously as I've been trying to get the message out that the marina is not a bad car at all, you have to cut it some slack and remember that it was only meant to be a stopgap car,it was only meant to get BL until 1976 it wasn't meant to last until 1979,for some reason my mate who really likes allegros says its a better car,no it isn't,i'm so glad to see this one getting back on the road,a proper fun car indeed
Great video, Simon working on those patchwork inner wings all this time must have been soul destroying, while immensely satisfying now they are done... top bombing 👍🏻 Matt's 'sweet teef' shenanigans with Simon had me crying with laughter! 😂😂😂
@@crap_car Metallic paint is partly to blame on the Mk2s not surviving so well and rotting inner wings. The heat of the engine burns it off leaving bare metal. I had that on my Mk2 Special I did last year. I've employed this method on my car, except I've voluntarily opted for bare metal, just so I can give myself more work and race to replace panels before the entire structure crumbles into nothingness! Or so some of my commentators would have me believe...
Yesss ! Sunday and the "swiss cheese Cortina" again. What a better way to finish off the weekend ? Thanks for sharing ! 0:56 "The light at the end of the tunnel !" Well ... with *that* car it might be an oncoming train however. Don't praise the day before the next morning ... 🙂
Absolutely hilarious banter - how do you get anything done with Matt in house ? - need a ' supa-like ' button !.Great work by Simon , the car's coming on brilliantly - well done chaps.
Haha thanks Roger. Even though I prevent them all from working, as Simon says if I wasn't there neither would he be as it would be so boring. So what can I do! Stuck in the preverbial hard place 😁
Don't know about the green teeth - it reminds me too much of when my dog first discovered what sheep leave behind in a paddock......however, with his "soft fluffy hair" and the white teeth in situ, he didn't half pull off a credible Jim Carey! (....and read that how you will!! 😆) Excellent job on the inner front panel and the headlight panels, Simon. They'll do the trick very nicely. Rear wheel arches are going to be super fun, but the new shop addition should make the job a tad easier. And if Matt hadn't done that excellent job on his knuckles while undoing a stubborn fastener, someone else would have. I must admit that he was very restrained with his verbiage upon doing so......at least according to the subtitles when that annoying "bleep" started appearing in the sound track. Strange how it started getting almost continuous just as Matt began his more descriptive phase... You're going to have to find the source and fix it before the next video I think......then again, maybe not! All the best
l haven't laughed so much in ages loving the banter too. l reckon that Chevy needs to go in that Marina engine bay along with a Muncie 4 speed gearbox and a Ford 8inch LSD .
I reckon your metalwork is far more accurate than when it was built at Cowley Ps there used to be a boozer there called the bullnose morris Offside front wings and panels tend to be in short supply due to accident damage car vs car, remember a mate who worked in a bodyshop, said most cars had offside damage from head on or side on collisions, whereas nearside used to rust more due to detritus being pooled in the gutter along with water
hello everyone! Well, it's very entertaining, especially with a gas torch, and those teeth!! BUT, the work being done is really good. Just to ask (silly question??) how is the inner wing going to be protected after all the hard work?? Best wishes from Lincolnshire.
Hi John. It will be painted first with rust converter, then zinc primer and then covered in another underbody protection product. We don't know which one yet.
Another excellent video, you lads are so skilled. Was at great British car journey yesterday saw a marina with similar wheel trims had to stop myself kicking them so might have to stop watching your channel 😂 Cheers Russ
Good work on the offside inner wing and headlamp panel. Excellent crack as well! BTW - the owners club has had those little lever arm bump stops remade in Polyurethane if you need them.
Good stuff - the kit uses the standard lever arms without a valve as a floating top arm, so you would still need the little bump stops. I helped in the design, it really transforms the handling.
Matt and Simon comedy gold 😂

Yeah marinas are cool cars. Look nice with a nice set of wheel on them. 👍

Those luxury plastic dashboard I remember those well 😂
Great job on the inner wing and you are as mad as a bag of frogs🤣🤣🤣
Nice work Simon I hope you've templated that headlamp mounting pannel could help many people out of a hole ! Or two.
We'll have to do a limited run of them.
Extremely talented fellas. Great team work.
I have to say Simon did a great job on the inner wings, I'll send Matt some Colgate!!! looking forward to the next episode.😁
Class banter lads. Cars staring to proper take shape now
We're so looking forward to bolting it back together.
Coming along well lads!
Cheers! I watched yours the other day. It's weird how your inner wings are solid but your floors and sills are holed, where as ours are the opposite.

A few teething problems that can't be sorted out.......great progress and entertaining video guys.🤣😂

Cheers! Glad you liked it. The chevy is going back in the C10 pickup it came out of.
Fantastic, getting the job done but still able to piss about and have a laugh 😂.
You went easy on those valuable irreplaceable trims today…..
Yes, they need a rest from all the abuse.
I haven't laughed so much all week! 😂🤣
It is only Monday 😂😂😂
@@CCC_MattOh yeah. I've been on holiday, lost track of the days! 😂
There can’t be many of these left they all went to the rust graveyard a long time ago.
There's something like 9 Marina GTs left on the road, and the same again on SORN.
You guys have a good laugh!

Ee, ah never expected a cameo by Dwayne Dibley😂
Oh yes! How could I have missed that!
Always a laugh!. Nice one!. Nuff said!. 🙂🫖
Garage find thankyou! I’m fucking sick and tired of every structure containing a vehicle being a ‘barn’
I'm with you there!
Interesting ‘Rocket’ picture drawn on that inner wing. 😳
It's a Jeff Bezos design
And next week on Simon makes things Simons going to make a nuclear reactor from some old dustbin lids gaffer tape and a marina hub cap.
That's well within his skill set.
Absolutely brilliant, thanks for the update. Enjoy your brew in the new tea pot
I don't know how you guys get any work done! 😂
We wait for Matt to go on holiday!
Its still a a great video even without Matt and yes us Southerners do only drink Yorkshire tea
Because if it's not from Yorkshire, it's shite.

Poor Matt. He really should see an orthodontist (if that’s how you spell it). URGENTLY.
Another excellent video, you lads are so skilled. Was at great British car journey yesterday saw a marina with similar wheel trims had to stop myself kicking them so might have to stop watching your channel 😂

Haha! We don't like abuse against marina wheel trims. Ours is a trained stunt trim.
Have far can you make the plastic wheel cover fly, like a frizbe.
We took it to Robin Hoods Bay to use as a Frisbee but totally forgot to take it down to the beach as it was in the dishwasher.
I spotted Fox's biscuits, is this a defection?
Well Fox's are just down the road from us in Batley. We haven't done a borders biscuit segment in a while. We might have to do another.
Wouldn't it have been easier to buy 2 headlight panels and reverse one?
No, they're a different shape believe it or not. The folds are in different places.
Are Marinas the cars that had Trunions?
Yes thats right.
Do you guys do any work l.o.l love your videos🎥
We try to. Cheers. Thanks for watching.

I’d post some pics of an install if I knew how.
No problem at all, Chris.
Very good series. If only Matt would just turn the humour down from " FULL ON ".....🤔
Sorry pal I don't know any other way to live. I am what I am
Thanks for watching. The humour is there regardless of whether the camera is rolling or not. He does have his serious moments though.
