My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

Ontario resident here! We definitely have our milk in bags, but sometimes cartons too. Don't forget though, if you buy bagged milk, you need to buy the plastic pitcher to put the bag in! Have a fun summer.

Little bandaid trick. When putting bandaid over knuckle cut adhesive ends in half (end to gauze part) so that you can criss cross the adhesive parts over the knuckle. Will stay on much better
I must admit I’m a little jealous of the family bond and love you guys share. Coming from an only child with only my mom left and no family close by, it’s wonderful to see. Thanks for sharing and showing that healthy families do exist.
Same story-watching Matts adventures and family time is both an escape and a nostalgic sigh for me.
I'm an only child too, was always thankful for close cousins!
Thankful for a huge....HUGE family, 10 Aunt's and Uncle's and their spouses make 20. 40 plus first cousins and second, third and fourth are too many to keep up count!😮 Last counted, 157 of us in mostly one county and the rest in connected counties. There are 20 of us who spend time together, 14 of us vacation together at the beach every other summer and get together for mothers and fathers day to celebrate our love and respect for one another. Thankful for each and everyone of them....and still wish Lindsey was my cousin!!!😂 She is great company and so glad Matthew and Lindsey make time to have fun. Quality content. Quality content.❤
Don’t know anything about cribbage, but I get tickled listening to the banter between you and Lindsey. Brooklyn is getting so big and she is so smart..got daddy wrapped around her little finger..that’s her job.😊😊😊

For what its worth, do not leave your egg boiler on after the buzzer goes off. I was out of the kitchen when the little alarm went off and never heard it. My delay caused it to melt the sides of the base a little. It sill works but I also set my phone alarm when I used it today. Live and learn.
Camping videos with Lindsey and Sadie are always fun to watch and Brooklyn just adds even more to it. Just missing Amber to round out all the girls! Better luck next game Matthew!

Where I come from, we call your pasta dish a simple home cooked goulash. Yumm!! All your meals have now given me cravings for sausage a d scrambled eggs, hot dogs, and goulash! 😮😂😅😂

@@jennifercollins3171 For me it depend on what I have on hand. Basics - Cook/boil 1box elbow macaroni pasta, add 1 tbsp salt to water
1 to 2 lbs Ground Beef, or Chicken/Turkey for a "healthier" option.
Chopped Onion, according to taste (1 large)
Fresh Garlic, diced 1 to 4 cloves
Chopped bell pepper, your choice - 1 whole pepper
Season to taste - salt pepper, garlic powder, season salt if preferred. Brown meat with all ingredients till cooked through. Add (1 to 2) preferred jars of Marinara/spaghetti sauce., along with pasta. Mix well and serve. With mozzarella and or parmasean cheese. Garlic bread or toast always pairs well with this. Add a green salad if you like.
Oops- also add 1 tbsp basil, 1 ts9, oregano to seasonings.

We grew up in Ontario with milk in bags - my brothers would chug a whole bag at a time from the fridge so it was the easiest way to keep up with them!

Plastic or paper cartons for milk only unless you get condensed milk in a can, or dry milk in a box.
Good day, you probably won't see this, however just saying, I get my milk in a glass bottle! Yes! And, it is a local farm with special jersey cows that only make A2 milk, which is much more digestible. Yes, it is more expensive and I have to drive there, but, I , like you, want to support the local family businesses. Good call!

Glad that everyone had a great time. Thanks for showing that adapter. That does work great for the 1LB tanks. I wouldn’t be too sure about putting a pot or pan on it with it being so top heavy. The smaller tanks are good for putting in the Jetboil itself, but you’re not going to get the runtime compared to a 1LB. So Matthew. I’m going to buy something because of your video lol. Crib is always a good time. Especially in the evening, or when the weather is bad. Gets people away from the tv and other electrics. See you in the next one bud. HI PENNY, Lindsay, Sadie & Brooklyn.
