My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

Seeing how much Penny enjoys her catio… I finally broke down and bought one for my big fat boy cat. I hope he likes it as much as she does. And I’ll like it because even in my fenced yard he gets curious and starts to wander off. 😂
I have trained my cats to stay within my four foot fence for 22 years. It takes quite a bit of time and patience to do. But being retired, what else do I have more important than keeping my cats safe while giving them some freedom? The only hang-up is if someone leaves a gate open, they think it's an invitation to wander off.

Hello! You should go down the internet rabbit hole and make meals in the instant pot for you and Brooklyn.
I found an amazing soup/casserole meal that uses hash browns to make a kind of potato soup. It's become a family favorite.

1bag of large diced hash browns
1 can creamof chicken soup
1 250mg of cream cheese
2 packets of ranch dressing
1boxchicken stock
Shredded cheese to taste- we use marble but you can use what you like
Bacon bits-I use the whole bag you can get from Costco.
I usually put everything but the hash browns in, cook on high slow cook for about an hour, or until it's all melted together. Then add the frozen hash browns and cook for 4 hours on high slow cook.
You can put on different garnishment as you want...green onion, more cheese, more bacon bits...whatever you like.
Let me know if you try this, and if you liked it. I also love making my own egg bites of various flavors in the instant pot. You can Google how to make them, if you want.

Sorry for so late on catching up on your vlogs - it’s been super busy 2 weeks. Thanks to your reviews, I knew what Rivita was about at our grocery store here and grabbed the mango and the cherry one to try. If I like them I will definitely order the cases online - will be cheaper than buying individually. I like the individual packaging, fits into the fridge better for me. Never feel bad about picking up a sponsor, Brooklyn will grow up incredibly fast and will definitely become much more expensive to support through high school, college, and wedding (if she chooses to marry), so opportunities to generate an income are awesome as we love for a bright future for her too. Hey Mathew. I have done the research and here in the US it is cheaper to order directly from Rviita. It cost more to order from Amazon and they don't carry all of the flavors.
