Almost had a guy attack me over a parking space in public. He claimed I didn't leave him room (I was there first, he pulled in behind me so fast and I couldn't adjust my parking, but still there was more than enough room for him). He went ballistic. It was one of those instances where he was obviously wrong, but he wouldn't admit it, so he stuck with his screaming/cursing/violent threats, then he got out of his car. Had it not been for the dozens of witnesses who came to my side, he was ready to come at me. I'm a 5'2 small female...an easy target.. now it's finally time I arm myself. I was just so shocked how unhinged that guy became over nothing, even with all kinds of people around. But I'm noticing this blatant rage more often everywhere I go. Thank you for this, I am considering at least carrying pepper spray.

The flip top is great but I can't believe companies are still putting out that horrible twist top, it does the two things you don't want it to do, if it's in your pocket, it can easily and I mean real easy, twist all by it's self and then leak in your pocket, right next to a very sensitive part of your body, also, if you need to use it in a stressful situation, you need to think about twisting it sideways and then pushing down in the center of the button, not the thing that sticks out, that might work, but might not. Every pepper spray made should only have that flip top on it because it can't leak and it's so easy to deploy, no thought is needed, it's as automatic as it gets. Please stop making that horrible twist top design.

Agree entirely. The button may not press as easily into the pocket, but the entire point is that a lock should NEVER unlock while the tool is stored. That kills the entire purpose!
I had a SCARY situation a week ago, 3 punks that live in my apt. building approached me and tried to assault me, I tried to use my old pepper spray but it didn't work (Mace brand?). I may have bought it as long ago as 4 years ago. I just read we should test these every 6 months. If the pepper spray isn't used for a period of time, does it dry out or something? I don't want to be caught in that situation again, especially since the LAPD did NOTHING about those punks. They said I have to have an injury before they can make an arrest. OK I just checked, I did not know there is an Expiration date on pepper spray. My old one was March 2022. My new one has an exp date of June 2026.
I have the twist top and today tried to use it towards an aggressive dog. It wouldn't spray. I wasn't strong enough using my index finger. Luckily the dog only wanted to get close and bark so all ended well. Then I came home and watched this video. I see now I was supposed to use my thumb. I'll go outside and try that. It's capsaicin, so it'll still be painful if it gets in the nose or mouth, it just might not be debilitating. You aim for the eyes because it's far more painful, and even if the pain doesn't debilitate them they're still blinded.

It is a UV die too so the Police may be able to track down the suspect a lot easier. They can either flash a UV light on who they think is the suspect to check for the spray or maybe it is visible enough.

Don't carry a knife! The attacker could get it away from you and stab you with it it's also a lot harder to claim self defense when you stabbed someone with it. I just carry a really big steel thermos I could swing like a club its not illegal to have a thermos on you.

After a week of the pepper spray on my keychain it had cracked and leaked everywhere. The alarm keychain I had also Sabre brand, I decided I better test it and it didn’t work. That's why I always order neutralising tissue with pepper spray so if it's gonna come back to my face I can help myself
