There is no way of earning wild cores for free btw. You can get poro energy through the pass, events, or just random "gifts" riot gives to its players. you need 5k poro energy to get a random skin, which takes a couple months to get if you're not buying the pass.
At least poro chests give you random skin and the skin pools get updated every now and then. Other MOBA out there just give you old skins or skin that doesn't sell well most of the time.
@@MythicalCatother mobas usually give you a skin based on the character you like. the chance of landing on a skin for you character from a skin chest is ridiculously lol
As someone who has been playing wr since launch and had some breaks in between i have 48 skins of which 14 are season skins and 18 epic skins, especially with events you can earn poro energy pretty fast and the event rewards have become more generous recently
Just to clarify you can't earn Wild Cores. From what I understand you're mistaking it for the other currency which is "Poro Energy" which you can only get from "Poro Chest" or events and you need a total of 5,000 Poro Energy to get a random skin chest.
And it takes at least for you a month,or more just to obtain those poro energy that came from poro coins and events. You're lucky if you get poro energy in poro chest and I would say, poro energy or poro coins given in events is not that much like it will just take you longer to obtain than obtaining those early compared to without events.
Southeast asian player here, people genuinely don’t care about how they’re being manipulated. They are addicted to gambling and willing to spend money on point of hundreds of usd on a skin with equal quality to the ones worth 10 usd. Some of my friends have accumulated thousands of USD spent on F2P games. I will go ahead and speak on the behalf of most southeast asian players that we’re sorry for encouraging the companies to be this way, we’re a victim of relentless monetization and are deeply addicted to gambling.
It looks so bad, my friends also spends so much on a gacha games. We don't care that it looks bad, but it looks cool to have 1 or 2 "ssr" Pull, even though you can just buy your things dirrectly.
@@Endo19840427 That exact mentality is what driving the industry to where we are, it’s not about if you’re willing to pay but it’s about the message you’re giving to the companies. We’re getting less and less quality games that are made from passionate developers that wants to make a good experience for the players, and we’re getting more games that the whole point is to milk the players as much as possible. I still consider wildrift as a fun game, but at first all of the skin had an exact price but now there is more and more gacha skins made only for the whales.
Some small corrections, since I want to make sure the complaints are fair: 5:10 - The Caligraphia skins were earnable via a Gacha system, though that Gacha also gave you currency that you could spend to outright buy the specific one you wanted. So at worst you just paid a bit more to buy the skin you want with the miniscule chance to draw it. And the chances were REALLY low 5:30 - You don't earn Wild cores. They are the Premium currency of Wild Rift just like Riot Points are the currency for PC League and you exclusively get them by buying the currency. Usually you get other currencies like Poro Coins and Poro Energy from events for Free. And if you collect enough of them you can roll a random skin. Kinda like Hextech crafting, but at a much slower rate, so the complains of getting too little free stuff are warrented. I'm also personally not aware of any event or sale that happened before Caligraphia to trick people. They have skins and other gachas all the time so it's not like they need to trick players into paying for Wild Cores twice. Another Problem not mentioned in the Video is just the sheer amount of different gacha systems they have. Wild Rift has: - Events like Caligraphia that are Gacha - Events that only have other cosmetic rewards like Icons are Gacha - In the store there are lots of different Poro Chests that are Gacha (Simmilar to Hextech chests, but much, much worse drop rates) - The Hextech Crafting system which is VERY different from the one in League. You basically never get any free stuff from it and the Ratio of how much you need to pay to get a skin from it is significanly worse - Companions are Gacha. Basically small creatures like Little Legends in Aram that follow you around And probably quite a few more that I'm forgetting. And IF you are a big enough whale and collect all the things you get special bonus perks like being able to customize your buttons having a different colored name in the loading screen if you own all skins for a champ or having an animated profile border. Confusingly they do also have good monitization as their Battle Pass is better than Leagues. It's sad that it seems to earn very little for them in comparison to milking whales. Overall I still agree that the monitization is badly done and I am happy that people fight against these practices, as behind all these bad things is a great game. Though I want to make sure we don't complain about falsehoods as that will just weaken the argument. But in the end they probably won't care, as sadly Caligraphia has been one of their most successful skin lines released.
@@MoochieMary Even worse with some Skins being Hextech Crafting exclusive and costing 1000 Orange Essence you may pay 150€+ for one skin. Though granted the Faker Ahri Drama on League PC is somehow even worse...

It's because the first gacha was a success. The first crystal rose skin isn't a gacha, but after the first gacha, all the upcoming crystal rose skin line being a gacha
1: Wild rift matchmaking punishes good players and rewards bad players, every game is a 1vs9 ,the better your stats( KDA / GPM/DMG ext) the worst are the teammate 2: the gacha system is pure whale bait ,and there's no way to get keys without spending, the crafting system is pure garbage and unless you spend money you won't obtain the crafting resources anyway, resources are getting removed every patch( poro coins, which can be used to get skins),the events are lackluster most of the year. 3: the report system doesn't work and toxic/ afk players barely suffer any consequences. 4: lag is getting out of hand with every new patch, went from 68 MS to 524ms , nothing changed about the router or the connection.
@@Nikosentiana338 nope, that's just it works. Go to check some broken support's videos about it. It will be much easier to understand than trying to explain it here.
I don’t care about the skins. My biggest problem with this game is matchmaking. The system forces you to have 50% winrates (because that allegedly defines balance) so it gives you the worst teammates ever to make sure you lose. It makes competitive ranked a horrible experience and you lose your sense of individual influence because the game decides if you win or lose.
That's just you not understanding how a matchmaking system works. The reality is that you're not god's gift to ranked Wild Rift and don't play as well as you think, which is easy to prove since there's tons of high-skill individuals who can easily climb the ranked ladder season after season. If what you said was true, then skilled people wouldn't be able to climb that reliably. It's either that, or you're entering crackhead conspiracy levels where Riot is targeting specifically you to ruin your games for some arbitrary reason which is just laughably stupid.
Exactly. This and map hacking running rampant makes the game unplayable. Forced to play with bot lvl IQ players because you actually know what you're doing? No thanks. Otherwise the mechanics and graphics are pretty good.
This my personal experience, you can try it if not believe. I played my main acc since beta, 13 k match. The problem is, this old account are cursed. Literally cursed, I played game on rank and struggling with 56% win rate GM. Yet, when I using brand new account. I have 72% win rate GM. So yeah, I hate my main acc because it's make me feel like Riot targeting my account and put bad player in my team. The same role, the same gameplay always solo Q. Just the account that different. Yet it's really frustrating playing with main account.
@@sampurnoadi2993 You just don't understand how matchmaking works. Your old account is not cursed, it's just settled at your true rank. Your new account doesn't know what your true rank is because you haven't played much, so it will vary a lot. Play on that account for 13k games and you'll see it too will end up in the same rank as your old account. You have to have an astronomical ego and main character syndrome if you honestly believe Riot is targeting you specifically to prevent you from climbing for whatever stupid reason.
My issue as a previous NA WR player and fan is that after the first Icons they completely dropped the support for the global circuit. The gameplay was great but they did nothing to uphold the western community after giving so much support. Now with Honor Of Kings being released and MLBB doing more marketing in the west it feels like Riot is just letting WR fall out even more
That's because moonton giving threats/warning/punishment to the team that want to open a team branch on wild rift. At least that's what happened in my country, moonton even warned a mainly MLBB youtuber when he made a single video of wild rift game play
The video doesn't explain a lot of the main issues with wild rift The issue is NOT the gacha system --->Its matchmaking + balance changes The game is quite literally broken and needs a desperate rework. Certain champions have 50% ban rate for the past months and riot still doesn't do anything about them. The game should be called league of 1 shots because of how ridiculous the damage problem is. Matchmaking is also predatory as explained by a lot of other WR TH-camrs such as "WR guides" It punishes the good player and rewards bad players. And since there is no ELO system like PC LoL it's even more punishing.
Its absurd that viego still have not recieve another nerf due to the crystal rose skin not on sale yet. Along with Irella buffed for better late game performance but did not nerf its passive dmg to lower early game performance, I admit this champ is sick during early game but a bit weak in late game teamfights. But should their be a adjustment(Trade) to balance the performance from early-late game, not fkin way for a champ to be better from early-late game
@@xnzietyyou can certainly establish an elo based matchmaking that matches based on actual skill with the amount of players wild rift has, it just would turn off a lot of spenders which to my experience are people getting boosted by the ranked system by just spamming games

Okay so as a 2 year Wild rift enjoyer ima break down the issues and explaining the system of wild rift gacha system and some drama but first things first I can confidently say that there is ZERO way to get wild cores for free. The only way you can get skins for free is from events (which very rarely happens), using orange gemstones (we will get back to this later), hextech keys (also get back to it later), and poro energy chests. The only solid way to get poro energy ( you need 5k poro energy to get an skin chest) is from poro coins which can be used to buy poro chests that are also a gacha into giving you random stuff or possibly more poro energy. Each poro chest costs 200 poro coins and each normal wild pass gives you about 600. The poro energy chests that give skins can only give you skins up to epic (even tho I checked and saw some legendary skins in the pool) which are again all rng. Orange essence is just like in lol you get them from chests except we can only get them from hextech chests which require hextech keys. Hextech keys so far are completely UNOBTAINABLE for free via events and wild pass except one time with a recent drama (gonna get into that later) orange essence so far is now only obtainable in the new hextech event that is out right now in which the system on gacha for skin shards and recombining then to get better skins and using orange essence ( or gray essence) to craft the skin shard to permanent skins. Recently there is a slight drama in the new event where you can exchange hextech coins for new rewards which includes skins, but one of the rewards was 60 hextech keys which you could choose when you bought the chest. A day or so after the event they completely removed the chest and the hextech keys with it so no one could get it. This is a very sudden removal of the free exchangeable rewards that was not announced or talked about by the wild rift devs and led to a lot of the player base mad
As a Wild Rift Players from the Philippines. I believe the most recent outrage of players to Riot is removing the Emote Bag from the Event Shop. If you purchase the bag using the hextech coins you can select a high tier animated emote or a 60 hextech keys for the Skin shards however Riot remove that.
As a Wild Rift player, good to see someone as big as Necrit talk about these issues, but that's not all. Flawed matchmaking, if it is worse than the PC LoL or not is up for a debate, other League issues are also present as well. For example just stars instead of an actual MMR is already bad enough, but apply the PC issues to it as well. I also tried HoK, objectively worse game, but QoL, MM and progression is better there. You get free champions and skins there more frequently and faster than in WR.
I'll give you something juicy Necrit: with the release of Hextech patch, they introduced bunch of new events called rift adventures and you can get new currency and spend it on rift adventure store. One of the thing that you can buy is lootbox containing previous animated emotes for 2000 badge, which you can do just by playing. These emotes usually locked behind gacha or FOMO events. Thing is, just 1 day after the patch, Riot removed it cuz they don't want players to get those sweet-sweet emotes for FREE, how's that for greed
The reason isn't the rare emotes but the loot keys which I confused why the lootbox isn't on the exchange list again when I already can afford it now goddamn it
Bad performance isn't the biggest issue, it's the matchmaking and the awful balancing. Because of how matchmaking works if you are bad at the game you will rank up in no time and if you are good you will be hard stuck plat because you get the worst teammates ever. And thanks to that you can see a lot of players who are master or higher but have iron level skills. As for balancing, they just don't nerf and buff what they actually need to, at this point i'm sure they just don't play their own game and just hit whatever or they are hard stuck iron.
@@Majesty_Lord I know, but that matchmaking makes it unplayable. In what universe is fair for me to get plat peak players in my team and gm and master peak in the enemy team and somehow i'm supposed to win that???
The other thing that's annoying with Wild Rift's monetisation is how they love to give unnecessary time limit on cosmetics especially on most of the Wild rift exclusives. Cause i doubt that many people like to buy with that kind of system, and I'd say at least with pc Leauge you occasionally have a weekly skin sale or the "your shop" discounts or an event pass that can get you free stuff with hextech crafting (which wild rift under utilizing it for f2players) where wild rift is just here's more gacha events no one ask for (and compare to other mobas on mobile where you can get a free pulls and win the prize) they doing a terrible job to make the gacha system worth less than actually just buying the product
On a current event, Riot added a chest you can buy with gained event points and one of the rewards was 6 Free pulls of the Gacha system. 1 day later they removed it and each member of the support team gave a different answer (It was a bug, It wasn't supposed to be released yet, etc etc) so the community went ahead and stormed the game with 1 star ratings.
Sad that this is part of gaming nowadays. So many straight up scams over digital goods that aren't worth the price. (Like with the recent Ahri skin) I always feels like there should be laws preventing companies making up their own value to digital goods. But it makes so much dirty money it's impossible to stop.
As a person that was intrigued about the competition between Wild Rift and Mobile Legends, I'm honestly glad that Necrit finally talked about how Riot dug Wild Rift a grave. To put it simply, Mobile Legends has peaked as time progresses, with orgs like Fnatic and Team Liquid hopping onto their esports, their recent tournament having a prizepool larger than most games in EWC, and generosity being seen from time to time (thanks to HOK) and that's not even talking about the fact that ML DOES LISTEN to the community (from one of their "Project Next" videos). While Riot just simply made every aspect of why Wild Rift even performed well just gone, then completely ghosting what the community wants. Not to mention how much they killed the pro scene for no reason at all. Lastly, I hate that SEA players (specifically PH) are in denial that Wild Rift isn't dead, when they themselves gatekept the newer players from playing WR because "they might have came from MLBB". It was Riot that simply dug the grave even further.
Kind of proves that you really need to take time for making success, especially outside of China, looking at the charts, the only reason why HoK is getting a lot of support outside of CN is due to the fact that it's the highest grossing game of all time. Or that it is graphically appealing to some. But MLBB never got such social status (seeing the 16 million per month in comparison to HoK's 160 million (due to majority of it being from CN Players)). People or some orgs are starting to realize that MLBB shouldn't be slept on as an esports, because Moonton/MLBB was really tailored for esports like the current giants (LoL PC, Counter Strike, DoTA 2, etc.), but it doesn't break the line of being too hard or too easy, but for once, a much more casual game actually stood out in the esports league and it actually worked for Moonton, because most of the money they got are from the orgs (like Qiddiya, ByteDance, not from the players (since a lot of MLBB are actually conflicted to practice on buying skins or cosmetics in MLBB 😂) etc.). And there aren't much players from Wild Rift CN either from what I remembered due to HoK still being the dominant titan there. I'm surprised that the only esports to stand out is MLBB, since it doesn't have as much support from CN orgs or from CN in general, the rest are heavily pushed by Tencent and are being pampered with such practices. The other outlier being DoTA 2 or CS2/GO.
Poro energy and wild cores are not the same currency You cant get wild cores for free in any way Poro energy is gained through spending poro coins which are very rare 1 poro coin spent = 1 poro energy 5000 poro energy gives you a chest which gives any random non-legendary+ skin You cant spend less than 200 poro coins at a time Poro coins have become increasingly rare to push you to buy them from the wild pass and gachas Also riot added extra rolls to aram and other random modes that you can buy with poro energy which doubles in price every time you buy it starting at 50 energy at a time But you cant use the coins for it so if you want to roll and have 0 poro energy but 190 poro coins you basically have 190 poro energy locked behind a wall
My biggest issue with this as player who played Grandmaster is not matchmaking or other stuffs around, but: The game crashes and is not playable anymore(Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 btw)... So I started to play Moba Legends(mbll) but this game is extremly easy and not as balanced + skill based as Wild Rift so I extremly fast earnad immortal title by spamming like 3champs.... If they make android client stabile without crashes once again, I am all in for this.
0:50 even before they added em, plat was basically gold. in the old days they told you what percentile of the server you were, and i peaked in d1 which was like high plat on pc.
As a WR player myself, one other thing that plagues WR ia that it's LITERAL NOT EVEN AVAILABLE IN A LOT OF COUNTRIES. like I literally have to use a VPN to download, make a riot acc in a different country(coz they patched that recently) and still it took hell to even start the game. And even after that sometimea the game just doesn't open and/or has i sufferable performance issues. Edit: Okay after reading the comments and doing some research apparently it's just a my country thing so sry for the blame 🥲. It's not banned tho it just isn't released for whatever reason.
Thank God this issue finally reached Necrit. It's been going on for a long time but nobody's really voicing out their opinions since they're already used to it. It's really infuriating when I see one skin they're going to release only to find out that it's going to be locked on gacha like Supreme Cells Zed and Caligraphia Yasuo. Their next skinline, the Fiend Quellers, already has rumors of it being locked on gacha with no hope of having at least one skin available via the ingame store.
I rated Wild Rift 2* because it has terrible AFK, Trolling and Role Stealing player detection, Low ranked games (Iron - Gold) is infested with BOTS, so you'll see Plat player NEVER used their wards.
Wild Rift is the best thing Riot has ever done since LoL and the best thing to ever happen to mobile gaming. I love MOBAS & loved and played LoL from 2011 to 2015, spent like $300, but had to quit due to health reasons. I can't play PC games anymore. So now I'm a full mobile gamer and I play mobile games since 2010. I missed playing LoL so much, so WR is a blessing! And I like every aspect of it better than LoL PC. Shorter matches, better aesthethic, I can play it anywhere on any position, clean UI, etc. etc. I've spent $160 on WR, more than any mobile game ever, Clash Royale being 2nd with $30. The existance of WR has helped LoL PC too. So many features have been implemented and tested in WR and then brought to PC. WR is so much fun, that even when I tilt because of bad teammates, I still want to play the game in a few hours later or the next day. I'm gonna keep growing my skins collection! It's getting bigger than my PC collection. I'm a LoL skins addict since 2011 😊 WR is the only game I will never quit. P.S. Love that you always use Wild Rift backgrounds as your backgrounds in your videos.
I slept on wild rift and started playing a week ago and I can say it’s so much better than PC. Games are shorter, better skins, better visuals , feels fresh. I been playing PC for 10 yrs.
If you think the skins system is bad, you should see the matchmaking system. Riot have openly said that if you do well in a match, they will pair you with worse team mates - essentially, you get punished for playing good. This ruined the whole competitive aspect of ranked. In fact, a Sion strategy was created a while ago where the whole point was to get the least amount of damage as possible while focusing soley on taking down turrets and macro. People abused this to climb because the matchmaking system is just that bad. They patched this, but still did not address or change the matchmaking system.
@@NoahSupNos1 ....Patch 5.0A. Also one our lead developers (PapaSmoothie) also explained it better, but yeah they just explained how the Loser's queue worked and how they were going to change it
@@NoahSupNos1 PapaSmoothie especially said that: Matchmaking works on a point system. Doing damage, getting kills gives you (ect) gives you more points. This means that the more points you have, the better you played, and so the more likely you will be paired with bad team mates to balance to a 50% winrate. A European streamer took advantage of this system as the point system doesn't give you point for taking turrets. So by taking turrets, not fighting and not dealing damage as sion, this streamer will get very few points so will be paired with highly competent players next match as the system thinks he is a terrible player. Other youtubers caught wind of this and used it to climb up rapidly. Then the developers changed it by making it so that you get extra points when taking turrets. Essentially, they kept the broken matchmaking as is, not addressing the fact that if you play good, you get paired with terrible players.
On top if the gacha system, there is a loot system where you habe to pay ~200 dollars to buy a single mythic skin. And they add a new mythic every 2 weeks
Been playing WR since the global launch. 1 year after that they added the first gacha. It took me 20 USD to get the limited skins and then some. A year and half after that they have added a new gacha every event but nothing that I wanted. Then Mid-late 2023 I spent 120 USD just to get a skin. Not a bundle or entire skin line. Just the skin, and it cost about another 40 for the pose and frame. The game has an issue, champs are very imbalanced, rank is boosted in every rank, and the impending crash of the ingame econ. I havent even been playing WR because the game feels so bad to play as a casual and comp.
I actually rly like the game. Best thing is that games end in 10 to 15 minutes. I dont get to be stuck for 40 to 1 hour hostage league gameplays so even with bad matchmaking i just get to next game fast. On PC you could go into 12 hours lose streak etc that was draining mental hard. Wild rift is very relaxing and matchmaking is bad but fair, cause enemies always have big noob too. And i am fine with gacha. I dont need fancy accesories and skins can be purchased with event coins, sometimes gacha legendary skin costs less than regular one, cause rng luck. Its also cheap in comparision to idle games that live on gacha.
The gacha system in wild rift is all about poro coins and poro energy. You can get poro coins through the wild pass which is essentially the battle pass of Wild Rift. Events also give poro coins/energy but usually it isn't enough to get a skin. Getting a skin through the gacha system means you need to earn 5000 poro energy. Spending poro coins can increase your poro energy bar with a 1:1 ratio. A poro chest which is also bought with poro coins can give you up to 1000 poro energy with a 5% chance. But it usually takes about 2 to 3 months of grinding the events and the free wild pass. The worst part is that the skin that you will get by grinding enough poro energy is fully random but up to teir 2 skins only (the purple gem). It really is a problem. Especially with Honor of Kings which is the top 1 in China right now, HoK gives you free skins from left to right, that's why Wilf Rift needs to step up their earning game because of it's competitors.
The thing about Wild Rift, it’s such a FUN game, towards the point where I would say the gameplay is better than LoL. But the biggest thing that made the game pretty “uninteresting” is how little the progress/ rewarding we as the player get. The game have this system that gain you medals/ charms from Targon as you account level progress. I remember I was excited when I firsts began playing and think I’ll get some cool stuff from it, but NOPE it’s just there for decorative purposes. Reaching level 100? You get nothing but a cooler charm, and that’s it. It’s not like normal LoL where as you progress/ even grind and get cool items; all skin are required to be brought with real money, HECK emotes and pfp are also rare and cannot be normally get UNLESS event (even then, it’s still not as frequent). The events are sometime are not rewarding enough (the least for mine was when Volibear and Ornns where there’s a leaderboard, I got top 1% and the reward was just a straight up alternate art pfp). This game is really great as many champion that are forgotten in LoL was given a chance to become infamous in Wild Rift. But the lack of reward for your investment/ grinding is so little and even none at all! I swear, the reason why I stay as long as I am, is that the only “progression” is rank for me, and even then it’s still not enough for me.
correction about the Garden Party skins, the gacha for them is a bonus extra for people who want to gamble, the bundles are also optional, the skins can still be bought outside of the gacha.
And some wild rift players say if you cant afford it dont buy it or if it’s expensive its not for you. They are basically fine with how the monetization of wild rift works but im sad and angry about it.
This happens every patch. Also, in addition, (and i might be alone in this) i hate the fact that they give you a chance to set up to three item sets but reset them each patch. I like making up my own sets riot, stop resetting them to default
Hey, small Wild Rift streamer here. I'm streaming this game for 2 years, averaging 200+ viewers, and i'm top 1-2 streamer in the nieche right now on TH-cam The main problem with WR score on google is not because of gacha, it's beacuse of Riot taking out the support for tournaments, taking out Russian servers (lots of people love this game here, and Riot is killing it for us, average ping became 50 compare to 20 before, third of the people can't play at all), also Riot stopped all ads for Wild Ruft everywhere, exept China It's very sad to see such a gem of a game die in the world just because there is China which has greater potential to earn money for the company, so they all in this opportunity
in other moba they have something called "trial skin" and something also called a different version of wild core or any other moba main currency that have limited time to be owned but its also spendable to buy the skin (or whatever in game item is) as the main currency.maybe riot can try that
That almost sounds like MLBB with their skin trials and promo diamonds. However you must have like 1 diamond ( premium currency ) to make a purchase involving promo diamonds
5:30 no there is no way in wild rift to acquire wild cores without paying real life money, it's essentially a premium currency only available to people who spent money on the game.
So sad, imagine crying for not getting extra things (like skins) for free and dont care about the matchmaking that is the core of this game. true baby behaviour.
The problems that Wild rift needs to fix is their : 1. FPS lag ( always irritating on the gameplay experience ) 2. Marketing strategy ( Always Gacha and some are permanently not available in the global server ) 3. Balance of releasing of skins to each champions ( always the played and picked champions are always getting a skin ) 4. Hackers ( Wr DEVS are now trying to fix this issue but players still able to use a hack ) and ; 5. Matchmaking and AFK .
The problem with Wild Rift is that it's a PC game that has compressed into a phone, SO YOU NEED AN ABSOLUTE BEHEMOTH PHONE to play it. While most of its "target audience" is in Asian, most of us don't even have a lot of money for rent, so how can we pay for that type of phone and then gacha for skin
That is completely false. Wild Rift is a game created from the ground up with an entirely different engine. That is why the game looks better than the PC version.
first the game is in an entire different engine and was built from the ground up. second you dont need a BEHEMOTH of a phone to play the game, i played it in an under average phone with 60 to 50 fps in fights and the only problem i had at that time was my internet connection wasnt stable to play that much, now i have a newer phone that can go up to 120 fps (even tho its mostly around 90 to 100) with pretty good graphics without any issues at all. idk what type of phone you got but you cant expect a 400 dollar pc to run warzone in max settings, and you cant expect a shitty ass phone to run WR smoothly without issues.
I mean wr works fine on lower end devices, u have to make some compromises like playing on 30 fps or sum. Biggest issue i see is internet connection, compared to other mobile mobas wr needs more data from my experience so u tend to have more ping spikes (might also be server issues)
bad performance for me is the biggest problem, listen... I don't have the best phon for games (iPhone 7) but wild rift keep crashing no stop, if played 2 matches the second will crash mid game, so I tried to put my graphics on low, and still keeping crashing.. now it's been 2 years since I don't play this game anymore just because of this (and 10GB game is not viable for me who only has a phone with 32GB)
The skin gacha its self is not a problem, the matchmaking gacha is where it is at its worst now, at least in non chinese server. also the game originally has 4.2 rating, but last year there is this campaign from MLBB player to dive bomb low rating Wild Rift page because MLBB company get sued by Riot for 3rd time for plagiarism (riot won all the lawsuits). You know sometime being original is not enough, company like montoon which literally copy many chatacter from LoL, Dota and other games literally winning just because they target so much younger player base with their ads everywhere.
The main problem is the awkward matchmaking. You are literally getting punished by playing good. If you are a better player, it gives you 4 braindead teammates.
Personally, the main problem of the game is that the player base is too small which means bad matchmaking and dead ranked mode. In addition, riot games don't give a shit about it... Simply, because the Chinese wild rift is fine, in fact it is one of the most popular games out there.
Basically, at some point Wild Rift pivoted to the chinese market so hard that it almost felt like I got transported into the mainland myself. It's so weird too when you realize that Honor of Kings is also owned by Tencent. Maybe they decided that it's just not worth it to play pretend that there is an actual global market for a mobile moba.
as a wildrift player yeah it sucks that we get plagued with a gacha event every time but sadly there's not much we can do about it except either not buying it or scream our complaints into the abyss, and small correction on the Garden Party skins they aren't locked behind bundles, you can buy the skin by itself without needing to spend that much money on it
The gacha system is not the worst part, it's actually the matchmaking, the lack of balancing (not balance, they try to buff or nerf champions but it's as effective as throwing darts on a bart and seeing which champion it lands on, they don't buff or nerf more than 10 or so every patch), and the recent hex map changes. They do everything they can to remove agency from solo players, screwing them over for those is duo/trio. They don't even deal with trolls...
I feel like there’s a stark difference between “monetization in free-to-play games helps fund them” and “pure greed”. And it’s almost always a case of the latter.
@@johnstrife7 Well...Riot cares... everyone that gets a últimate or gacha skins is buffed at least a couple of times and is kept in a high tier WR doesn't have a competitive, so what defines the meta currently is skins sold per character
I have been a Wildrift player since beta testing and been playing to this day. And the current issue of the game is the same as the previous patches. The constant Unstable FPS (even on my 6GB RAM phone),The login to this game is still buggy, and the problem of reconnecting when your WIFI/DATA went down.Thats not all the rise of players who abuses AFK, feeding and even cheater are immensely getting popular to the game which makes the game unplayable. All this problem and still they mainly focuses on the aesthetics and cosmetic of the game disregarding the major factor of the game (Accessablity,Games performance in any platform and Punishment for players)
And i forgot about the game's gatcha and their disfavored events that give out useless in-game items and low tier cosmetics. And their Community is slowly dying because of no content to be put up on the game.Sad to say Wildrift will die when this continues.....All thanks to their clever marketing and to riot games future plans 😏
I've been playing wr for almost 3 years now and as a player that loves to get new skins it is so frustrating to see leaks of a great skin and later learn that is gatcha locked, the biggest issue for me tho is the inconsistency of prices for these gatchas, some are actually good deals with prices similar to those of the permanent shop and others that require you to spend some crazy money (like crystal rose) to get the skin you want without accessories like borders and stuff, unless you want to add more.
This is the greediest company I have ever seen. From them reducing poro coins from 200 - 195, then removing your ability to earn poro coins regularly, then the gatchas, then the increase for purchasing wild cores by $1 across all price points, they don’t give a shit about the players. All they care about is flashy skins and tricking people into spending $100s. Meanwhile they still haven’t fixed matchmaking, they haven’t fixed the blatant map hacking problem, they haven’t fixed the trio party abusers, and they don’t take action against trolls or blatant feeders / win traders at all. Worst company ever.
I've been playing WR since EU release and have spent a decent amount (a few hundreds) on skins, passes and other cosmetics. Before they introduced gacha events I was happy to do so, but I can't remember the last time I spent money on the game. Between that and the dumbification of the game, I went back to LoL, where I earned over a dozen skins in 2 weeks of playing, entirely for free. And the biggest slap in the face is the hextech crafting system in WR. In LoL that's how I was able to get so much for free, while in WR it is *literally* something you can only participate in by paying real money to buy keys to open chests. Just kind of sad, but it was bound to happen in the end.
There's a problem with crashing and frame rate issues. But the game also got review bomb because ML player was mad that RIOT suing Moontoon. Don't know if that does affect anything now though.
I want to add that other than the gacha system, another aspect of the skin buying process that is bad is having LIMITED skins that aren’t even in a gacha at all. I know it has technically existed before the gacha system BUT it has become more rampant within the past year or so. It makes sense for limited skinlines to exist because of things such as lunar new year which makes sense the dragon lantern skinline was all limited BUT introducing skinlines where only ONE champion skin is limited ALONGSIDE another being legendary AND mythic?? The devs are really making it obvious that they’re greedy for money and know they can get away with it as long as they put a “limited for a certain amount of time” label on certain skins. Edit: just some phrasing issues I fixed.
I am like 1000% better in wild rift 😂😂 I hope this game will continue to 15 years to come. Edit 1: You have to play for and entire year to get the MALPHITE cosmicy thingy skin, if not a year about 6 months, of DAILY playing.
There isn’t a lot of things I hate about the game, but as a player who has wasted 1300+ days on a WildRift I can agree that the gacha system is a big problem but one thing I do agree about the ‚free skins‘ since u can get a lot of Porto energ and get at least one random skin chest a month so I enjoy that
I kinda saw the writings on the wall so I bailed, wild rift gets greedier and greedier with every patch. I noticed it way far before they increased the price of the wild pass (their reasoning due to covid at the time) I was pretty down with it at first with all the news of company downsizing and whatnot because I wanted to support the game but they made it so on that specific season that you can't finish the pass without buying some levels not only that, the rewards were mid at best (the only thing to look forward for was the pass skin), some of the season pass rewards are being gated on a shop thing per event pass, if you are a collector you most likely need to pay extra if you wanna collect all the stuff per pass, and that's excluding the ridiculous grind from the wild pass quests. The following passes after that they added some sort of gacha for a chance to get items from previous passes, it just preyed on newer players experiencing FOMO. That set up an alarm for me, eventually I stopped buying passes and in turn I played less since there's nothing to grind for. Every single one of my friends felt that and eventually our friend group got tired of playing lol
It's a great game it's literally league in your pocket. In the west people still have that "mobile game" bad ego. Also they don't want to admit their favorite game can translate well to a mobile phone.
mobile games are dogsht because they are dogsht. almost all the recommended games are bird bath deep and mostly designed to just gate and milk as much money out of you as possible
@@silco5343 Yep here it is. It's not dogsht, you gotta b dumb to say that. It's pretty much as predatory as PC league that has hundred dollar skins. No difference, Orbs are gacha, also TFT has gacha too. Try and get emerald or diamond I bet you'd like it.
It’s 3 stars because the app was review bombed before by mobile legends players because Riot sued Moonton again. Also, imo, compared to other mobile mobas, WR actually has the much more reasonable gacha system. The real issue players have right now is the matchmaking. People stop playing the game because matchmaking is so bad, it became painful to grind and rank up.
My man forgets that before wildrift we had bang bang and I still remember people spending over 200 bucks just to get a collab skin because it was gacha and you would always get the said skin in the last 2 pulls.. Not only that the skins where overpriced as heck aswell. And as for skins being randomized, smite does the same thing too every season. I still feel the skins are way cheaper here, a legendary skin which is 1.3k which is 15 bucks it's way better than the legendary ones on bang bang costing over 30 bucks if not more. The only thing I agree is the chroma or wildcores
The biggest problem I have in WR is the speed of earning blue essence you need to buy champs. There is no reason why it should be different from how it's done in LoL.. Well except one obvious reason ofc
Some skin limited, not even resell at certain month (like Valentine, or Lunar Year). Even border and skin are not one packages. Matchmaking punished you to 1+ win and 1+ lose. Poro coins really scarce, more gacha gacha gacha.
yea, I still remember MSI 2019. now Riot do exactly Garena did with VCS and LMS servers but one thing worse: they didn't have any wildcore promotions to encourage ppl to pay for
Well SEA league player here: on the note of gacha to get free skin, this is something Garena used to do. Sure it had plenty of other problems including more predatory marketing and higher prices, which in turn make it worse for the payers and consequently balancing out the free stuff
I've been playing less and less, I used to get on and play every event because we'd get cool rewards like all the different cosmetics, emotes, etc. But now events barely even give you any of that and none of the grinding is worth it anymore. The only good things I've gotten lately is the free aram pet. Even the poro coins and energy are hard to come by now!
If you want better performance in wild rift then turn the settings from 60fps to 30, it helps alot an stops overheating etc also turn off things like anti aliasing because that's just a pointless effect an just uses more device power
For me the biggest problem is matchmaking. There are huuuuuge losestricks and afterwards probably same winstreaks (which are not that noticeable). It’s because the more K/D/A you have, the worse your teammates are and better your opponents are. It’s not a tinfoil theory, riot confirmed this. It was unveiled during the Sion to Challenger era like half a year ago. And getting 10 loses in a row while having positive K/D/A destroys all the motivation to play it. Apart from that - the game is great. And gacha skins are still optional.
One thing about wild rift. It has a higher skill ceiling than other mobile moba. Also you can watch and read PC guides for league and it transfer to wild rift. The higher skill ceiling is also a curse because you will get frustrated when akali or yasou one shots you every game and you want to uninstall.
This started to happen after they switch the whole dev team. Now that they based on China and gatcha is the thing in there, WR is littered with gatcha. They don't even care about the game that much at this point because Maddie was talking about Ahri asu in the process 2 years ago but the asu is nowhere in sight still.
That stupid poro chest keep giving me master yi skins, i dont even use master yi

You cannot earn wildcores for free you need to buy them
Oh man.what a trash game im gonna quit rn you lost your precious player riot :((
Wait what you guys can earn them for free
True man
U can with the community tournaments
Oh no.
Just to clarify you can't earn Wild Cores.
From what I understand you're mistaking it for the other currency which is "Poro Energy" which you can only get from "Poro Chest" or events and you need a total of 5,000 Poro Energy to get a random skin chest.
You actually can. But it's hard to get. You can win it from wildrift live streams or by sharing an artwork to riot (one time only).
Some small corrections, since I want to make sure the complaints are fair:
5:10 - The Caligraphia skins were earnable via a Gacha system, though that Gacha also gave you currency that you could spend to outright buy the specific one you wanted. So at worst you just paid a bit more to buy the skin you want with the miniscule chance to draw it. And the chances were REALLY low
5:30 - You don't earn Wild cores.
Wild Rift has:
- Events like Caligraphia that are Gacha
- Events that only have other cosmetic rewards like Icons are Gacha
- In the store there are lots of different Poro Chests that are Gacha (Simmilar to Hextech chests, but much, much worse drop rates)
- The Hextech Crafting system which is VERY different from the one in League. You basically never get any free stuff from it and the Ratio of how much you need to pay to get a skin from it is significanly worse
- Companions are Gacha. Basically small creatures like Little Legends in Aram that follow you around
And probably quite a few more that I'm forgetting.
To add: the Gatcha skins often add up to $35-$60 depending on how expensive they are in the exchange store

I had a 74% wr last season masters

Certain champions have 50% ban rate for the past months and riot still doesn't do anything about them.
The game should be called league of 1 shots because of how ridiculous the damage problem is.
Matchmaking is also predatory as explained by a lot of other WR TH-camrs such as "WR guides"
It punishes the good player and rewards bad players. And since there is no ELO system like PC LoL it's even more punishing.
"Hurr durr but there's a T Hex (braindead, unbalanced flavor of the month change that ruins the flow of the game) so it must be better than League."
Its absurd that viego still have not recieve another nerf due to the crystal rose skin not on sale yet.
Im glad they did because Its unfair for me who spent wildcores in calligraphia event to get that rare emote selection chest.
Not unfair lol @@jiafeiproduct
I mean they certainly didnt add it on purpose so they cant be blamed for removing it
As a Wild Rift player, good to see someone as big as Necrit talk about these issues, but that's not all.
It was not due to the emote, the loot actually gave 60 hextech key for free so thats why they removed it
Nah the emote is not the main problem the key is the problem 6 free pulls for the hextech is crazy.

Poro energy and wild cores are not the same currency
You cant get wild cores for free in any way
Poro energy is gained through spending poro coins which are very rare
1 poro coin spent = 1 poro energy
5000 poro energy gives you a chest which gives any random non-legendary+ skin
You cant spend less than 200 poro coins at a time
Poro coins have become increasingly rare to push you to buy them from the wild pass and gachas
Also riot added extra rolls to aram and other random modes that you can buy with poro energy which doubles in price every time you buy it starting at 50 energy at a time
But you cant use the coins for it so if you want to roll and have 0 poro energy but 190 poro coins you basically have 190 poro energy locked behind a wall
I don’t think riot is the one take all the blame, imo it should be tencent.
Tencent doesn't own enough of Riot to tell them what content to make :).

I rated Wild Rift 2* because it has terrible AFK, Trolling and Role Stealing player detection,
Low ranked games (Iron - Gold) is infested with BOTS, so you'll see Plat player NEVER used their wards.
I'm a LoL skins addict since 2011 😊
WR is the only game I will never quit.
P.S. Love that you always use Wild Rift backgrounds as your backgrounds in your videos.
Shoutout to all my brothers and sisters grinding on the wild rift

Yup it's official since 5.0A
Where did they admit that?
@@NoahSupNos1 ....Patch 5.0A. Also one our lead developers (PapaSmoothie) also explained it better, but yeah they just explained how the Loser's queue worked and how they were going to change it
@@NoahSupNos1 PapaSmoothie especially said that:
Matchmaking works on a point system.
@@hamzie1010 Damn, if it's that Brutal then let me introduce you to Mobile Legends matchmaking system.
5:34 No they aren't and just to mention the yasuo prestige skin was around 250$(I am not kidding).
so like mythic scams in LoL that are 200$
The thing about Wild Rift, it’s such a FUN game, towards the point where I would say the gameplay is better than LoL.
Funny enough LOR had a "internet error" for me back when i played in IOS who knew their errors were genetic
correction about the Garden Party skins, the gacha for them is a bonus extra for people who want to gamble, the bundles are also optional, the skins can still be bought outside of the gacha.
And some wild rift players say if you cant afford it dont buy it or if it’s expensive its not for you. They are basically fine with how the monetization of wild rift works but im sad and angry about it.
It's aight, I cosplay Faker with the base skins aside from the Pulsefire Thresh I got from the start
This happens every patch. Also, in addition, (and i might be alone in this) i hate the fact that they give you a chance to set up to three item sets but reset them each patch. I like making up my own sets riot, stop resetting them to default
Hey, small Wild Rift streamer here. I'm streaming this game for 2 years, averaging 200+ viewers, and i'm top 1-2 streamer in the nieche right now on TH-cam
The main problem with WR score on google is not because of gacha, it's beacuse of Riot taking out the support for tournaments, taking out Russian servers (lots of people love this game here, and Riot is killing it for us, average ping became 50 compare to 20 before, third of the people can't play at all), also Riot stopped all ads for Wild Ruft everywhere, exept China
It's very sad to see such a gem of a game die in the world just because there is China which has greater potential to earn money for the company, so they all in this opportunity
in other moba they have something called "trial skin" and something also called a different version of wild core or any other moba main currency that have limited time to be owned but its also spendable to buy the skin (or whatever in game item is) as the main currency.maybe riot can try that
Wild Rift has trial skins and has currency used to get skins
That almost sounds like MLBB with their skin trials and promo diamonds. However you must have like 1 diamond ( premium currency ) to make a purchase involving promo diamonds
If they release a skinline some of the skins will be behind a gacha or a bundle but the rest can be bought directly from the store (individually)
Just 11 minutes? 🗣️🔥
Theres legit entire event shop with +10 skins , and random skin chest. Poro chests are also obtained for free
wild rift is good, but not gadget friendly. you really need to find a balanced and compatible phone to play it easier.
The problems that Wild rift needs to fix is their :
1. FPS lag ( always irritating on the gameplay experience )
2. Marketing strategy ( Always Gacha and some are permanently not available in the global server )
3. Balance of releasing of skins to each champions ( always the played and picked champions are always getting a skin )
4. Hackers ( Wr DEVS are now trying to fix this issue but players still able to use a hack ) and ;
PC lol and lol wild rift arrr completely different games in every aspect.
first the game is in an entire different engine and was built from the ground up.
second you dont need a BEHEMOTH of a phone to play the game, i played it in an under average phone with 60 to 50 fps in fights and the only problem i had at that time was my internet connection wasnt stable to play that much, now i have a newer phone that can go up to 120 fps (even tho its mostly around 90 to 100) with pretty good graphics without any issues at all.
idk what type of phone you got but you cant expect a 400 dollar pc to run warzone in max settings, and you cant expect a shitty ass phone to run WR smoothly without issues.
I don't have the best phon for games (iPhone 7) but wild rift keep crashing no stop, if played 2 matches the second will crash mid game, so I tried to put my graphics on low, and still keeping crashing.. now it's been 2 years since I don't play this game anymore just because of this
(and 10GB game is not viable for me who only has a phone with 32GB)
The skin gacha its self is not a problem, the matchmaking gacha is where it is at its worst now, at least in non chinese server.
also the game originally has 4.2 rating, but last year there is this campaign from MLBB player to dive bomb low rating Wild Rift page because MLBB company get sued by Riot for 3rd time for plagiarism (riot won all the lawsuits). You know sometime being original is not enough, company like montoon which literally copy many chatacter from LoL, Dota and other games literally winning just because they target so much younger player base with their ads everywhere.
I prefer WR over regular league. Especially for someone like me that can’t afford a really good gaming PC. But I’ve never had any problems with WR
Honor of king: 🗿
Basically, at some point Wild Rift pivoted to the chinese market so hard that it almost felt like I got transported into the mainland myself. It's so weird too when you realize that Honor of Kings is also owned by Tencent. Maybe they decided that it's just not worth it to play pretend that there is an actual global market for a mobile moba.
Isn't ML globally successful tho?
as a wildrift player yeah it sucks that we get plagued with a gacha event every time but sadly there's not much we can do about it except either not buying it or scream our complaints into the abyss, and small correction on the Garden Party skins they aren't locked behind bundles, you can buy the skin by itself without needing to spend that much money on it
5:32 u cant get some for free
The gacha system is not the worst part, it's actually the matchmaking, the lack of balancing (not balance, they try to buff or nerf champions but it's as effective as throwing darts on a bart and seeing which champion it lands on, they don't buff or nerf more than 10 or so every patch), and the recent hex map changes. They do everything they can to remove agency from solo players, screwing them over for those is duo/trio. They don't even deal with trolls...
I feel like there’s a stark difference between “monetization in free-to-play games helps fund them” and “pure greed”.
And it’s almost always a case of the latter.
Cosmetic skins that have no effect on gameplay seem pretty fair to me, meanwhile Necrit is openly sponsored by Hoyoverse, how curious.
Imagine caring about useless cosmetics
@@johnstrife7 Well...Riot cares... everyone that gets a últimate or gacha skins is buffed at least a couple of times and is kept in a high tier
WR doesn't have a competitive, so what defines the meta currently is skins sold per character

No you dont, shut it, at least you can directly buy shit, we can't.
@@jolteonthecatYou can directly buy skins in wild rift....

Even MLBB has gacha but it's very different
Who cares about gacha. It's all for cosmetics. It is not a pay to win game format. On the other hand, matchmaking is horrible.
3:17 is my favourite XD omg "Signed probably by Mundo."
The new patch is the worst, so many unnecessary addition. Doesn't feel like League anymore, so Im back to League PC.

I am like 1000% better in wild rift 😂😂
I hope this game will continue to 15 years to come.
Edit 1:
You have to play for and entire year to get the MALPHITE cosmicy thingy skin, if not a year about 6 months, of DAILY playing.
I thought there would be another one after it, but my hope died when it didn't when I got it
There isn’t a lot of things I hate about the game, but as a player who has wasted 1300+ days on a WildRift I can agree that the gacha system is a big problem but one thing I do agree about the ‚free skins‘ since u can get a lot of Porto energ and get at least one random skin chest a month so I enjoy that
Riot is slowly becoming a Chinese game developer company, ohh wait they are owned by one...

1:30 that was the case from way back in 2022. It still are.
Wild Rift is underrated when it comes to its gameplay and customization. (But yeah, I agree that the skins are expensive)
all you can earn in wild rift is a bunch of blue motes up to 200k, champion to unlock, poro skins atleast epic tier, some stuffs from events.
Also in Honor Of Kings you can spend as little as 10p if you want. In Wild Rift the least you can spend is £4.99
I've been playing less and less, I used to get on and play every event because we'd get cool rewards like all the different cosmetics, emotes, etc.
The real problem is this damn skill based match making system
