At the 13:00 mark that stove is ancient; the landlord should have upgraded along time ago. Sadly seniors are afraid to rock the boat because they know they’ll get kicked out!
What really bites is rent prices keep going up but our Social Security or whatever New Zealand's over 65's call it doesn't go up commensurate with the rent increase. My landlord keeps raising my rent and she is also over 65 so she knows that our Social Security doesn't go up much every year but she keeps raising it anyway. She used to raise it only $25 a year but now it's $75 and I have no extra money for eye glasses, dental work, etc....
It was so nice of those ladies to get help for the older gentleman and he showed his appreciation unlike many people.
It's tough out there but tenants have gotta know their rights!
@@getin3949I'm so grateful my city of Sacramento decided to vote on rent control. They kept upping it so much it was insane. Now it can only go 5% a year

In my country America and other countries around the world our elderly are not having the proper care and silently waiting thinking that after living their lives and giving back to the community but they somehow become invisible to others around them is appalling and shameful!!!!!! My loved ones will always be looked after, fed , clean,and safe until i can no longer take care of myself......
That's so sad to hear about the state of the elderly in the US - what do you think needs to change?
It can be a surprise to end up alone. I'm 64 - never married, couldn't have kids - and I thought I'd at least have my siblings. Unfortunately, they don't feel the same about me, so after losing my parents (I was their caregiver), I'm totally on my own.
@worldsworstneighbours Everything this country has major selfishness syndrome and unless they need something you got then then bye bye....it's sad
