    Really great video man, I think you pretty much covered it all. It was a challenge for me to build a stock framed 250r (two of them). The prices lately are pretty insane all across the board. The aftermarket frames are a whole other level of insanity. Great looking Walsh bike! I would love to find a nice after market tubular frame one day. Even a stock replacement Arens frame would be awesome!

    Great video! thanks
    I also live outside of Vancouver and ride a rebuilt LT250R. Not too many of those old machines around here.

    I feel lucky that back in 2017 I found a freshly built Arens framed 250r that I scored for $6800. At the time it was a little pricey but I couldn’t build it for anywhere near that price now. I also have a stock framed 250r that I modded to run the rear cr500 link as well. Neither bike will be leaving my possession for a long time.

    You can still buy most things brand new. LSR makes a 250r frame for 3200

      I currently own 2 LSR Banshee frames. I'm glad I bought them when I did. They're now $5950 shipped to your door..

    I remember when 250rs dominated the racing scene. You would expect that there would be numerous engines for considering that the average racer would probably have an extra running quad or couple of spare engines. But you literally can’t find any whole complete engines.

    Nice build. I just built an 86. Yes it cost alot and took 18 months. I have close to 16-17k into with the cost of the bike i paid 2500 8 years ago. Yes parts are a pain

    My simple short cut gut out a trx450r roller and slap that 250r in there kinda like my hybrid ltz400 powered by a rm250r and it rips. But hey if you can throw thousands on a build lucky you.

      How hard was it to mount that rm250 engine and was the stock intake and exhaust able to be used?

    Would it really be that hard to weld up your own frame mimicking the stock frame if your a mechanic by trade and a good welder? Isn't it just square tubing and gussets? Then just buy a 450r swing arm and 400ex a arms. I feel like I could do that fairly easily or is their something I'm missing that makes this only something that can be done by manufacturers?

    • @Rec-Star
      @Rec-Star  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen many done. but to be honest I weld like a rookie and it would be next to impossible for me to do it.

    Are you building your machines for riding or just to sit around and look at just curious are they so rare that you can't ride them

    • @Rec-Star
      @Rec-Star  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      none of my stuff is anywhere near mint. There is rare stuff but I like to ride them. Check out my other videos I have some of me riding this quad.

    I am scared to even start my stock 88, much less ride it. You too?

    • @Rec-Star
      @Rec-Star  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm scared to start it without boots. this one put me in the hospital with a blood clout in my lung. Kicker hit me in the shin and sent a blood clout up.

    what wear items would you recommend me to go ahead and buy now, instead of waiting for the part to fail then spend months trying to save up and find the needed part?

    • @JMKady76
      @JMKady76 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bushings/bearings/seals especially for suspension stuff are things you should have on hand for older bikes, lots of that stuff ends up obsolete and not available aftermarket. It took parts from 3-4 sources to rebuild the linkage on my Tecate 4 recently.
