@@MichaelSabo I don't have a puma engine but to have a 8 inch swing arm takes more chain and more power and a loss of power in ways lol and less traction mines a 6 inch on a 450r with a big bore kit web cam race cut gears over ride transmission if i was to do it again I'd extend front end of bike instead

a very close friend of mine has a 87’ he bought new. full mod, it’s more of a stock looking wheeler but it’s all chrome, not a scratch. that’s a 410cc 3 mil stroker motor. sweet ride!

This is super sick man what a bad ass build beautiful swingarm and those cases wow. Larry is great man he made a set of A arms like the ones you used on the raptor 660 build for the YFZ450 long travel shocks and he didint even charge me more great dude.

I'm retired military so when there is a tribute to us soldiers, it always touches each of us in a special way. Not enough people in this world appreciate the military. If they do they sure keep it hidden. My flag flies proudly to include my POW flag as well.
That thing is so awesome it's hard to imagine it being any better, but knowing the way you do it, I know it's going to be a masterpiece.

I got a set of billet cases, and they are awesome! You do have to use the case saver Mike got, the oem case saver didn’t fit :/. At least mine didn’t
That's correct; the billet cases are slightly different in the sprocket area
I grew up with older brothers having an LT250r and the LT500r quadzilla to me the suzuki LT250r was the most iconic not to shit on honda fans but was the most impact on me cause of them having those to quads.
Most definitely man, the old Quad Racers are iconic as well

@@MichaelSabo drained everything all new fluids, 93 octane. I bought an new OEM carb with stock jets. (It came with a 42 and a 148) it ran great for a hour. I turned it off then it hasn’t started since. Spark plug is fouled out, black and wet. Dunno what else that can foul out a plug besides the carb tuned too rich. Fuel mixture screw 2 1/4 turns. New plug, gapped properly.

Except Mikes Quads Dirt Bikes run n ride better. Ever road an American Chopper.?.Watch yourself especially if it's open primary. Take a right corner too deep sharp. Primary catch pavement jack your back wheel of the road. Send you to the ER. Some of choppers( bikes) were ridiculous. Dirt n Dunes where it's At.
Man I absolutely love this rebuild, I remember him taking the blaster in the sand and he loved it so I can’t wait for him to see how that big block will feel.
Also huge shoutout to him for sticking in with the TH-cam no one really understands how hard it is to push these videos out. How in depth he goes for us. Just overall a great guy love him always joking about selling used parts on eBay then BOOM in the trash.

Those cases are amazing!! A ton of time went into developing those and the amount of machine time in those is a gob of time. Can’t wait to fallow along in the build.
I think Dave Moore Racing also helped DRW develop that ignition. Pretty sweet setup! Dave has one in the 350cc and it RIPS!

not gonna lie, Im slightly disappointed to see it being turned into a drag quad. I definitely understand though because you do take it to the dunes. It would still be sweet to see you build a 250R woods machine, something with full fenders and a plush suspension for the woods… like a competitor to the Voodoo Banshee. Maybe you can find an Arens frame or something, there are a slew of things people come across having to do fabrications to get these aftermarket frames to work for things like MX and XC… and it never hurts to have 2 250Rs lol.
No doubt man, an XC or woods 250R build would be sweet! I think if I had more time I would do a whole new machine but for now, this will be a cool change up!
I really want to see an LT250R, Tecate, and TRX250R shootout…. nobody has done a proper “Top Quad” style shootout with those 3 machines@@MichaelSabo

Nothing better than checking out ur new parts u try to have a buddy around when ur opening up bunches of parts no ones around just ur wife and ur showing her parts we all know they are trying to be nice but really they are thinking how much longer its just a part and funny thing is u can tell them anything you have a piston in ur hand u could tell them its a flux capacitor that adds 50 hp they have no idea or do they care we all know it its just cool to open parts up with a Buddy ur just so pumped u don't care who kooks hell ill show the damn dog lol

Kinda wish you didn't go +8 on swingarm. Imo that's to long for duning that's more for hill shooter / drag racing. I think +4 is perfect for duning if having issues keeping front end down. Curious to see what you think. 😊
I was originally going to do +6 and it was recommended to go at least +8. It's trial and error; I've never built something like this, so I will see for myself if it's still dune-able, but really I do want it for mostly drag racing.

The most hot Rodded atv ever was the 350 Yamaha Warrior. That Honda sounds like a chain saw.

Brings back memories of the early 90's I had a Curtis Sparks built 250R engine and the best at the time chassis. The tulsa shootout was the ultimate test, Could never beat Greg Baker and his Curtis Sparks powered 250 R but it sure was fun.

My brother's ESR 330R was an absolute beast in the dunes. When he finally switched to the ESR TRX11 exhaust with center mount silencer it really woke it up but it definitely needed an even bigger carb. With long travel setup it was by far the funnest dune bike. I weighed 120lbs and I couldn't keep it down. Only downside was 110 leaded was over $7'a gallon and we would go through more than 30 gallons per trip per bike.

Love ESR engines, have had different sizes over the years for different types of riding from Eddie with nothing but great results. 👍🏽

Beautiful pieces the engine is gonna be stellar the swinger true work of art Full Flight has been around along time with never having the best reputation of quality but that swinger is special and personally I'd love to see them as a brand get it there simply because for anything outside of a Trx and Yfz they're 1 of the few options when it comes to arms for a reasonable price for ur more rare machines
Thanks @aldamoney7988 not sure if you knew but I am the new owner of the company and took it over 4 years ago. We really only took the name and arm design that’s all. New equipment, new employees and even moved it to a different state. Basically the name and the design of the arms and that’s it. The last couple of years we have worked very hard to rebuild the reputation and improve quality and customer service. We have come leaps and bounds to get where we are today from 4 years ago. This year we decided it was time to rebrand. So we have been working on completely rebranding the company and will offer a totally new design for our arms next year. Keep an eye on out for our new website also.

The boot should be used when starting ANY forward kicker. I've had an FMF pipe on a 250R knock my foot off the lever, and I took the lever's full speed return right into my unprotected shin. F--KING. OW.

380 means your piston is 82mm. Pretty big! That's a 54.36 percent in displacement!
That clutch cover panel is TITS!
Stainless bolts are indeed weaker. But the OEMs aren't always as strong as they should be. My Dad bent at least 2 OEM rear upper shock bolts on his 2005 DS650X.
Ah. Where your rear reservoir is reminds me of where my left front reservoir is on my Zilla. I use Fox Arctic Cat snowmobile shocks with longer bodies, rod shortening spacers, Carver Performance valving, Silkolene 7.5 wt oil, 4 inch reservoirs, and 8 position compression adjusters.
I think it'll weigh 330.

Yes, just take your time and get a service manual. I have build videos where I show step by step how to build an engine that can help as long as I've done the engine you have.

For an entire engine? I would call Power Sports Nation and ask. The 250EX is getting kind of rare, but they may have one. Otherwise I'd scout eBay.

That swingarm is a work of art. It's something I'd hang on my wall lol. I think the quad will weigh 327.6 lbs

I live in Oregon, sad ta say, but anyway, I’ve been haulin ass fer years with my 250R’s, I’ve never understood why to remove the front brakes, I get the tiny bit of weight , when ya go fast, ya Need ta stop, I personally wouldn’t remove the front brakes, we have chatted in the past, the only way I could communicate is FB, I don’t do anything else on the internet, keep doin you buddy, MAKE 250r’s GREAT AGAIN
