I'm an 80s kid and had a yz80 then got a cr125 and to this day that Honda still makes my heart race. NOW I have never seen a pilot but I want 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 lol ... a 400cc 2 stroke OH WOW 😍

@BIGFOOTBIKESANDBREWS early on it was the trikes and a blaster. I remember that. Then we started getting all sorts of stuff. I think I was like 12 years old when the cannondales came out (absolute beasts), we had a blaze right off the get go but I remember they had tons of problems. Then notably after that was the 440ex. Then the trx450 came out and we got a 2006 450er (I think I was 17?). It got fully built and I joined the army. When I came home I was buying it from my dad but we lived next to a golf course and they complained and I had to stop riding it in the woods behind the house and we ended up selling it. I haven't had anything since.
I want to find another trx450 in shambles and put the new crf450 shit in the frame and ride again. Lmao I hit adult age and all that stuff went bye bye.
@BIGFOOTBIKESANDBREWS meh I take that back I guess. I bought a 2012 Honda cb1000rr from my dad last year that had 1200 miles on it. I put about 2000 miles on it and herniated l5/s1 and sold the bike to my brother in law around a year ago.

Omg look at all of my childhood hahah. Was fortunate enough to grow up with pretty much all those machines in the garage at some point. Im a honda guy myself but to be honest the tri-z 250 we had was BY FAR the meanest of the big 3.
I think at one point we had a 350x, 200x, 250r, tri-z, tecate, and an 88 250r quad taking my moms parking space. The 88 250r was my favorite, quad guy at heart.

There is a collection in Pennsylvania that puts this to shame. He only has a few Odysseys but the history he has tracked down is astonishing. New and used 3 and 4 wheelers as far as the eye can see. Factory race bikes, prototypes that were "crushed" right there live and in person. Dude cares for sick family 24/7 but gladly showed us through for free.

It's allot easier to build a collection when you were a Honda dealer in the mid 80's.
There is someone in Baton Rouge that has a massive collection of odeyess, three wheelers, and numerous others.
They all are still in crates.
That was gn Gonzales, an old honda dealership that started way way back. They were one of the first honda importers in the US. The owner passed several years ago and all the old stock went up for auction and I believe went to England unfortunately but yes, they still had old 3 wheelers in crates. They were good about putting old stock out on the floor to sell. Like 5 year old new motorcycles. It was a really neat dealership

I got a pilot last month. It's such a fun machine! Mine was 5k and it's got very busted plastics. Nice ones go for up to 8k and a little beyond here in Michigan

Definitely try and find a Tecate! They are more powerful than an R thanks to the KIPS power valve system. The 86 2nd gen is probably one of the best looking trikes ever. Just know that the motor isn’t balanced like a Honda so they are vibey and NOTORIOUS for blowing stators. Upgrade to a HD Ricky stator and it should solve this 🤘

Years ago a friend of the family let me drive his Honda Pilot we we were all at the sand dunes (extremely generous of the guy), and it was even more fun than I thought they'd be. He really let me drive it too, encouraging me to catch air. And then catch more air because I was pussing out and being too cautious. I jumped off a small dune and actually flew the thing down the dune. It felt like I was 20 feet in the air. It was amazing.

Those Pilots are sweet. We grew up with the Honda Odyssey 250s and they were an absolute blast
Had an 81 Z50 and wanted a 3Wheeler bad, but they were getting a bad wrap and my parents thought the Odyssey was much safer (of course they were right). Xmas day I run into a friend who just got a 200X so we swapped. First time on a wheeler at 11yrs old I go hauling ass down the row of a plowed field and planted my foot when it tried to throw me. Brand new knobbies ate my friggin leg UP! Must respect the wheelers!

Back in the 1980's I got dressed up to go on a date and on my way to my car ( Mustang Mach 1 Fastback ) my younger brother had his 3-wheeler out , so I take a spin on it , ended up doing a donkey kick going over the handle bars ( cuz the tires were at half air volume ) , I ran myself over with the machine leaving a knobby tire track across my dress shirt , then I left , my date asked " Whats with the tire track ??? " , it twas FUNNY as hell ! I love the 6-wheel machine in the collection ! ThanX !
Man, I remember going to a Honda store in the late 80's with my cousin who was getting a part for a scooter. I saw a Pilot and was immediately in love. It was the coolest rhing I had ever seen. Of course, it was way out of reach, but I've never forgotten it.
I thought this was clickbait. Those Pilots are rare! Most people don't know they ever existed, they think it was only the odyssey ever made, I've literally had people trying to correct me on forums when I've talked about the Pilot and they think I'm confusing the odyssey with some early 2000s Honda suv junk. Damn I want one!

Always wanted an FL400... They were a head of the game for sure back then. I think you can upgrade the jug to a 500cc on them as well. They would REALLY rip being a 500. You might want to look into that. Thanks for sharing.

Seeing an Odyssey after 45 years, we were stupid but damn it was fun.
Crazy how the Pilot and the Odyssey are rebadged as Vans and SUVs.
Wow! Brings back memories. Started on a 110, the 200x , Big red, 250x and now in 2024 riding a V twin 750 hunting fourwheeler that tops out at 72 mph. Still alive but a few whiskey dents. Lol

Wow!!! I was class of 84! And I had the only 85 250R three wheeler in my hometown in Kentucky!!! It was bad ass!!!!! If I had far sight I would have never sold it!!! Along with my square body Chevy that I drove through high school😮
The track in Myrtle beach he is talking about was my first heart break 💔 I was the youngest of 6 and we went to ride them and I was a inch to short to ride them 😢 seeing my brothers and cousins ride them was humbling 😂

WOW. Had a 350X with a pipe and turf tires. Riding buddy had the 250R and it was frustrating how fast the 2 stroke was. Love them all. Great collection.
Had a 350x kerker tune and change the sprockets spanked all that try to go by me .
I’ve had a couple dozen, but my favorite was my 86 red white and blue 250 SX. Wiseco piston, mega cams cam and a 200 x narrow wheel disc brake front end on it. The thing was a beast that would destroy a 1000 cc Polaris scrambler. It’s been gone for 20 years now. A couple years ago I found a Yamaha 225 DXT. It had been cut in half with a torch because they couldn’t get the diff pins out of it. Then it was left in a barn for 20 years. Now it’s fully restored, hopped up and gorgeous $5000 later. Eventually, I will make it to one of your three wheeler meets. Because all of my buddies suck and don’t ride anymore cause we’re in our 50s.
That is the nicest cleanest collection ever brings back so many memories growing up in 80 /90s just amazing

My brother had a 200X, I had a banshee and a 700 Raptor but my all time favorite is the Honda pilot and the ATC 350X 3 wheel bad ass beast! Now being 100% disabled from my tractor trailer rollover accident I'll never see my dream come true.

I am a disabled vet and probably looking to just get a 4wheeler although I thought the Ace would be the perfect vehicle for me. My 3 year old loves all things with wheels and I totally love it… I just can’t keep up with his little bum! As soon as I introduce him to combustion propulsion I am screwed! I just want something I can keep him safe while riding. As much as I would love to get a RZR with the little jump seat so you can have 3 people in it, I just can’t afford it. I just know that where I live there’s several that are 100% street legal. Ahhh dreams, lol! Maybe one day… wonderful collection, I used to race a Honda 250R quad and learned to race on a quadracer

Amazing collection. I have owned 6 pilots, 5 89"s & a 90. I finally sold my last pilot in 2014 after about breaking my back out @ Red Sands in one of them. They are a ton of fun & I do miss them. BTW, there is no comparison from a stock Pilot and an ATV Racing long travel.

Not all, but I remember when all of those bikes disappeared from the show room. Most were under $3000. One day they are there, the next they were gone. Our local Honda dealer replaced all of these with Goldwings. I even remember when the Pilots came out and would race on motocross tracks. After that, development ended for small, cheap off-road bikes.

'77 Odysseys were yellow. Whole different level of fun in the Borrego desert. I did manage to hold onto an '85 Big Red that's in near new condition. Only use it to pull a log splitter. -Hah

Did they forget about the odyssey? It was around ten years + before that pilot. They were yellow back then, too. My uncle had one back in early 80s, when I was a little kid, and took me for rides. He let me steer, and throttle the thing one time, and I gave it full gas too quick, and took off doing a wheelie. Lol It was awesome.
