Can you do a video about the Ordinary peptides? They’re cheap and I feel like it’s one of the only ones on the market where you know what you’re getting, a lot of products that have peptides on the label have like 1-2 peptides and often at the bottom of the ingredients list so it’s hard to know if it’s in a high enough concentration to actually do anything and not just a marketing tactic. Love all your videos :)

Argeline, Matrixyl, Copper, and “Amino Acids”, there are a few others that have the word “peptides” on the label. I agree, Timeless is also good (Syn 6’, matrixyl 3000, CoQ10).

I would have liked to see you talk about NIOD's peptide serums (the Copper Amino Isolate Serum 3 1:1 (CAIS3) and the Copper Amino Isolate Lipid 1 % (CAIL)). To be honest, I would like a whole review of the brand from you. The prices are high, but the products appear promising.

There also many other groups of peptides: brightening, soothing/redness reducing, moisturizing (increasing natural HA production), protecting from dna damage by sun, antioxidant peptides, increasing fat deposits/fullness in skin etc. There are biomimetic peptides which are recombinant growth factors. Good serum with right concentration of right peptides makes my botox last 2-3 months longer. There are only 2-3 good ones and they are expensive.

Hi Dr Shereene, i just wanted to make a correction on the Kiehl's retinol. It is 0.1% retinol but when it comes to retinols, the percentages go from 0.1% to 1%. So the Kiehl's is actually very gentle. When it comes to retinoic acid/tretinoin, the percentages go from 0.01-0.1% - i think you may have gotten the both confused :)

You’re an Angel and I appreciate your videos!
Call it whatever you want, anti wrinkle, anti-aging, pro-healthy skin, whatever - it still seems weird (to me) for a 30-something young woman (not you because I know you’ll just order it or have it at your medical office) at the cosmetics counter to be buying an anti-wrinkle eye cream, but at age 59, the word anti-aging means more like “looking like I feel”.
And, despite the rumors, people have always lived longer than the textbooks say the human lifespan or average age that people lived to.
    Poor women died in childbirth.
Many babies didn’t survive past the first few years.
People died in farm accidents and wars.
If people look back at their own ancestry, you’ll find many more people who lived beyond their 80’s.
Anyway. I just wanted to say that. It bothers me that people think humans aren’t meant to live past 70 or that we’re supposed to die once we’re infertile. That’s just nonsense.

Thank you for this informative video. You mentioned Melasma. I wonder if you’ve made a video on this topic? If not, would you pls consider discussing this and if there are any non-invasive products/procedures that might help those with Melasma?

Yes! I needed this. I bought Paula’s choice peptide booster without really knowing what it does and how to include it in my routine. Can you please discuss this product? They have 8 “ targeted peptides” in the product.

Love the video! I've seen some real benefits from a couple peptide-focused products!
Argireline: Acetyl hexapeptide-8 (argireline) didn't do much for my skin as an ingredient in other serums, buuuuuut when I added the Argireline serum from The Ordinary to my routine I noticed a HUGE difference in my expression lines! It's not botox, but it does work for me! (Plus, it's less than $10.) You are correct that it doesn't last, because if I miss three day I suddenly look 5 years older.😆
Matrixyl: IDK about some of their anti-aging claims, but the Matrixyl serums from Timeless are some of the most hydrating, plumping products I've tried. After using for a week my skin looked healthier and plumper than I'd ever seen it!

@@eyeclipper Yes. I didn't enjoy the texture compared to the Timeless serum, and I like that the Timeless comes in a larger (cuter) bottle. However, it's nice that The Ordinary combines BOTH kinds of "advanced" Matrixyl in a single formula!

Thank you for doing your videos! I have learned so much and my skin is doing so much better now than it was a year ago. I appreciate all the work you put into these. Thank you. Because of your video on sunscreens and sun rays, I'm now using a sunscreen every single day! Unfortunately my melasma is proving pretty stubborn despite using 4% hydroquinone. I've in my 4th month of use with a month off after 2 months on. Can I use this indefinitely as long as I take a break every couple of months?

Good morning, Dr. Shereene, and thank you for your giving back to your community of subscribers. Would you be so kind and suggest a topical protocol to help with skin discoloration, sagging skin and discoloration around the eyes; using prescription strength products that include Retin A, Hydroquinone, Vitamin C, in conjunction with other products that could be prescribed by a Dermatologist. What strength and order of use-day and night. I would be so grateful for any suggestion or insight as to help remedy my current skin issues. Thank you!

My latest issue is personal restraint around trial sized freebies. How am I not going to eventually f*** up my routine if I have the entire Kate Somerville Exfolikate lineup lined up in a drawer somewhere in adorable baby sizes? I don’t even exfoliate that regularly. It all just came with a retinol eye cream. So here I am, juggling the destruction of my skin barrier after a stupid mistake, binging this whole channel on all the ingredients I should have known about BEFORE. What a journey this is. Thanks for the awesome educational content, as always.

The catch with peptides is whether when applied topically peptides can penetrate the skin deeply em=nough to be effective. Most research is done on skin cells in a lab.

I have been using argireline as an adjuvant to actual Botox injections for migraines. I read some research that topical argireline could help extend the duration of action of Botox injections for bletharospasm, so I wondered if that could work for migraines too. Normally I need to pay for my Botox injections every 4-6 months - so even extending a few weeks for using a product less than £10 a month could be worth it. I'm now at 6 months and my Botox is still going strong at reducing my migraines so hoping for 6-7months. I know it won't fully replace injections but it is worth it.
