We all can learn from each other without tearing down where someone is less knowledgeable. I can’t fathom how a doctor like Dr. Idriss can remember all the conditions and prescriptions and other knowledge required to be a successful dermatologist so I will never fault her for not being a k beauty expert.

I’m Korean and have tried many of the products you introduced today. So many of the products you showed are super famous in Korea- that rom&nd Han all brow, peripera muteful rose palette, the holika mascara, and the I’m from honey serum. The holika hyper curling mascara is one of my favorites. I think if you have short, sparse Asian lashes, you notice the curling effect more. Your lashes are already full and long so I think you don’t notice much of a difference.
A friend of mine who used to live in Seoul told me that the 10 step routine was not really a thing. The steps were there to tell you what order to layer all the various products in, not that you need all of them.
That first cica product is not a cleanser but a mask. It's not to wash your face. You leave it on you face when your face is already clean and you can then wash it of after a bit. The purito product: Pack is another word for mask. It's a sleeping mask so the last step in skin care at night.
Dr. Idriss, I sincerely thank you for all of the wonderful information, insights, and knowledge I have learned by watching your videos over the past year. You have helped this 68 year old man immensely, and believe me it shows. After close to 39 years of extremely high end digital image artistry I see everything, no matter how small. Pyungkang gul products are simply amazing because it’s ingredients list is small, natural for the most part and highly effective. The company is one of the oldest clinics in Korea that treated stomach, respiratory and skin ailments and only in the past many years ventured into creating their highly effective skincare products available for the public use. Their products, I find, are indeed very soothing, nutritive and calming for my skin while also enhancing the skin’s barrier.
I wouldn't say it's natural (and natural doesn't mean better in skincare) but I agree the brand is really good. I currently use the Nutrition Cream and it is great for winter.
I just recently had a reaction to something (still don't know what) which flared my roseacea badly. I washed my face with plain water, but really felt like I needed a moisturizer. I had a sample of Pyungkang Yul ATO cream and tried a small test area which was fine. I applied it to the irritated area and the instant calming/soothing of the flushing was incredible (and much appreciated). Within an hour, most of the irritation had resolved. I was so happy with the results I ordered a tube that same day!
‘Natural’ can be bad for many too. Natural ingredients can irritate, burn, cause allergies etc. natural doesn’t mean the products are better or better for you.
My 61 year old skin has had a complete turnaround thanks to everything I've learned from you over the last 6 months! Just wish I could get more of the products here in South Africa, but learning how to make do ... 😊
As 71 yr old who has just recently begun skin care, I appreciate the time and effort you give each video. I would have wasted a huge amount of money and time using wholly inappropriate products had you not shared your knowledge and expertise with us. I truly appreciate your straightforward style and approach to skin care and products. The one thing I did adopt from those ten step skin care regimes is the double cleanse. Oil (balm) to remove makeup and foamy to clean the balm and anything left behind. After that, actives and moisturizer but not ten steps
I love the K-beauty try out idea! What I would love too in these kind of videos of you talk a little bit more about the actives in products in an educational way. Ofc there is no all kind of products available around europe or wherever but I love to find similar products with the knowledge you teach us through these kind of videos. And if you worry about the length of the video than don't! Belive me (or I am brave enough to say: all skin nerds) we are really thirsty of the knowledge you represent us, because it's easily understandable and interesting in your "performamce"! Those Cosrx eye patches are my absolute favorite! Perfect for MUAs that want to use an under eye patch while applying eye makeup. The Serum/Essence is easy to pat in afterwards and doesn't ball up under the concealer when you apply it. 🙌🏼❤

Romand's brow pencil also has a "powder" brush that fills in the brow. It should be between the pencil and screw brush! I love romands brow pencil because it's a 3 in 1 like that 🥰

Love shopping on YesStyle for my k-beauty products. I love the Mizon cleansing balm but I don't wear makeup but I do wear layers of sunscreen and it cleanse beautiful to me. Currently trying the Purito sleeping pack and I'm liking it so far. It's not heavy at all. The brand is I'm From and they have different lines which include honey, rice, fig. That's why I would never buy an advent calendar because of the makeup and since I don't wear it, it would be a waste of money for me.

Dear Dr Shereene, you are so cute! I was interested in K Beauty so ordered a bunch of Korean skincare products from The Face Shop on Amazon. I was so excited about the prospect of Korean Glass Skin. I followed the routine with the rice ceramide range. Oh my word, my skin reacted badly. I felt like a 50 year old teenager with all the spots! Even my classic rooibos creams could not fix it. In the end I used … Baby Bum Cream. That’s all. It worked. Zinc oxide, castor oil, lanolin. I have very fair skin so I thought maybe genetics play a role? So I kind of got Baby Bum Cream Glass Skin haha!

When I was in my early 20s I moved from NYC to New Zealand, this was in the mid-2000s so the level of ozone depletion down there was still fairly severe. I brought SPF 50 sunscreen from something like Banana Boat or Hawaiian Tropic and at the time I felt very confident about trusting my pale, blonde Irish/German skin to this stuff. Within the first couple weeks after landing in Auckland, I had gotten the worst sunburn of my life (and I had plenty of bad burns as a kid) from sunlight that had reflected off the water...I mean I was _blistering_ it was that bad. When I finally left NZ two years later I had several bottles of a Nivea SPF 100+ sunscreen in my suitcase because I was bound and determined to never ever get sunburned ever again lol. Incidentally, I believe that many Aussie/NZ sunscreens used to be consumer tested by a United States company that was busted by the FDA for falsifying their SPF test results, so just something to keep in mind.
I do have a separate fridge for some of my skincare.. but it’s not a fridge that’s marketed as a “makeup fridge”/“skincare fridge” but a regular mini fridge (though about twice the size of a marketed makeup fridge) or else (first of all) it wouldn’t even fit my skincare.. 😬 Ja.. I keep my retinol, my vitamin C s and my eye creams and eye masks in there.. and some of my tonics because it feels 🥰 so good!! I’m a big k beauty fan and my two favorite k beauty heroes are galactomyces - or actually anything rice and saké ! - and tremella aka snow mushroom!! I’ve also just got some products with prickly pear (that’s really a cactus) and I think I like that too.. Right now I seal the deal (my The Ordinary Argireline + Matrixyl and my Granactive Retinoid 2% or Sunday Riley A+ serum with Benton Fermented Eye Cream on my eyes and forehead and a Laneige Sleeping Mask (right now it’s the Cica sleeping mask). I saw that you liked Laneige Cream Skin and I totally agree!! My favorite is the Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer 2-in-1 It’s a lifesaver if you feel any dryness. I live in the north of Sweden 🇸🇪 (almost at the Arctic Circle!) and the winter here means very dry air, which can lead to dry skin.. But the flip side is that it’s dark most of the day so I make the best of it with my use of retinol from ca 3 pm. I love your channel!! ✨Happy new year everyone!! 💫 Lots of love from Sweden 🇸🇪 ✌️😽💗

It actually sits wonderfully under make up, if you use it like a normal cream and put a thin layer on. I have finished the second tube a few days ago. I use it, whenever my skin freaks out, because of the very harsh FFP2 and 3 Masks (KN95 and I think KN99 for the FFP3 Masks, is that correct?) we have to wear about 8 to 10 hours at work (I'm a nurse). I also use it as a winter moisturizer and my skin loves it.👌 Pjunkang Yul has a lovely Essence Toner and Intensive Repair Cream, also my goodies for winter skin.😉

For makeup, I really like Rom&nd ! They really put a lot of thought into their products, especially their lip and eye products. For skincare, Cosrx & Iunik are the best for me, their products really do what they are supposed to
Thanks for this, I've found a couple of new products I'm excited to try. I've being using korean products in my skincare routine these last couple of years, and I always order them for Yesstyle. It's fun to discover all these new (to me) brands and products. I'm really liking Cosrx, Some by Mi, Pyunkang Yul and for skincare. They're effective and affordable. Also, the sunscreens are amazing and they are so many of them! I think everyone would be able to find one they like :)

It's I'm From...the deal with that brand is it tells you were the ingredients are from...I would absolutely love a majority of those products. A sleeping pack is an overnight mask you use it at the end of your PM routine. I think if you had actually used some of the skin care products correctly you probably would have really enjoyed them. It made me sad to think you are going to waste them.
I saw this same advent calendar on another dermatologist channel & you were supposed to open one item per day. There's 25 products I believe because it's 25 days of Christmas (the theme). You overwhelmed yourself doing all this in one day 😂

Hi Dr. Idriss, have you tried Venn skincare brand? It is also a Kbeauty brand. It is on the pricey end. They have a vitamin b all in one activated concentrate. The line is meant to streamline and simplify. I like their products but they are on the pricey end.

Annyeonghaseyo 💕 loved this vid but i wish my korean mom stressed skincare more- i went tanning as a teenager and in my 20s… she did tell me to slather aquaphor on my face at night tho (this was in the 90s!) and we used to do fresh cucumber masks so i did get some good tips :)
I was so happy when I saw the cicaluronic cleansing balm! After I saw Dr. Dray review this product (she likes it a lot) I decided to order it and I looove it! I don't use eyeliner but my mascara , sunscreen, eye pencil etc.etc melts away! I used three times and I will continue ordering, so bye bye to my Camellia cleansing oil from TATCHA, also I ordered the CANMAKE mermaid skin gel UV (clear) two months ago and I love it too, finally! I tried so many sunscreens and I found the one, and the best part is that my husband started to use it too and he is very happy with this product, the price was around $9 the first time I ordered the second time I ordered was $13.39 , they are small but give you a nice dewy finished after it's absorbed.
I also follow Dr Dray. I loved how she opened a few items each day, it kept me excited for the next video 😅 She said in one of her more recent blogs that this cleansing balm has too much fragrance.

Actually I just saw Dr. Dray video again about this cleansing balm and she said that the smell reminds her like a nice hotel and it has a pleasant aroma. I like it a lot and that's a keeper for me.

I just subscribed a few hours ago and binged watched many videos of yours, you even saved me several bucks of buying HA serum. I literally typed your channel + korean skincare in case you made any korean skincare related videos but hadn’t found none. That was I think a few minutes before you uploaded this video. Then I came across this video after 3 hrs of me not using TH-cam which is a pure coincidence. Romand's brow pencil also has a "powder" brush that fills in the brow. It should be between the pencil and screw brush!

Love shopping on YesStyle for my k-beauty products. I love the Mizon cleansing balm but I don't wear makeup but I do wear layers of sunscreen and it cleanse beautiful to me.
Currently trying the Purito sleeping pack and I'm liking it so far. It's not heavy at all. The brand is I'm From and they have different lines which include honey, rice, fig.
That's why I would never buy an advent calendar because of the makeup and since I don't wear it, it would be a waste of money for me.

Dear Dr Shereene, you are so cute! I was interested in K Beauty so ordered a bunch of Korean skincare products from The Face Shop on Amazon. I was so excited about the prospect of Korean Glass Skin. I followed the routine with the rice ceramide range. Oh my word, my skin reacted badly. I felt like a 50 year old teenager with all the spots! Even my classic rooibos creams could not fix it. In the end I used … Baby Bum Cream. That’s all. It worked. Zinc oxide, castor oil, lanolin. I have very fair skin so I thought maybe genetics play a role? So I kind of got Baby Bum Cream Glass Skin haha!

I am so happy that Dr. Dray on her video today picked the Mizon cicaluronic cleansing balm as one of her favorites for the month of December! Actually she tried on her face and she likes it and me too! 🙂
When I was in my early 20s I moved from NYC to New Zealand, this was in the mid-2000s so the level of ozone depletion down there was still fairly severe. I brought SPF 50 sunscreen from something like Banana Boat or Hawaiian Tropic and at the time I felt very confident about trusting my pale, blonde Irish/German skin to this stuff. Within the first couple weeks after landing in Auckland, I had gotten the worst sunburn of my life (and I had plenty of bad burns as a kid) from sunlight that had reflected off the water...I mean I was _blistering_ it was that bad. When I finally left NZ two years later I had several bottles of a Nivea SPF 100+ sunscreen in my suitcase because I was bound and determined to never ever get sunburned ever again lol.
Incidentally, I believe that many Aussie/NZ sunscreens used to be consumer tested by a United States company that was busted by the FDA for falsifying their SPF test results, so just something to keep in mind.
I do have a separate fridge for some of my skincare.. but it’s not a fridge that’s marketed as a “makeup fridge”/“skincare fridge” but a regular mini fridge (though about twice the size of a marketed makeup fridge) or else (first of all) it wouldn’t even fit my skincare.. 😬 Ja.. I keep my retinol, my vitamin C s and my eye creams and eye masks in there.. and some of my tonics because it feels 🥰 so good!!
I’m a big k beauty fan and my two favorite k beauty heroes are galactomyces - or actually anything rice and saké ! - and tremella aka snow mushroom!! I’ve also just got some products with prickly pear (that’s really a cactus) and I think I like that too..
Right now I seal the deal (my The Ordinary Argireline + Matrixyl and my Granactive Retinoid 2% or Sunday Riley A+ serum with Benton Fermented Eye Cream on my eyes and forehead and a Laneige Sleeping Mask (right now it’s the Cica sleeping mask). I saw that you liked Laneige Cream Skin and I totally agree!! My favorite is the Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer 2-in-1 It’s a lifesaver if you feel any dryness. I live in the north of Sweden 🇸🇪 (almost at the Arctic Circle!) and the winter here means very dry air, which can lead to dry skin.. But the flip side is that it’s dark most of the day so I make the best of it with my use of retinol from ca 3 pm. I love your channel!!

I use the Cica Sleeping Pack from Purito a lot. It actually sits wonderfully under make up, if you use it like a normal cream and put a thin layer on. I have finished the second tube a few days ago.
I use it, whenever my skin freaks out, because of the very harsh FFP2 and 3 Masks (KN95 and I think KN99 for the FFP3 Masks, is that correct?) we have to wear about 8 to 10 hours at work (I'm a nurse). I also use it as a winter moisturizer and my skin loves it.👌
Pjunkang Yul has a lovely Essence Toner and Intensive Repair Cream, also my goodies for winter skin.😉

For makeup, I really like Rom&nd ! They really put a lot of thought into their products, especially their lip and eye products. For skincare, Cosrx & Iunik are the best for me, their products really do what they are supposed to
Thanks for this, I've found a couple of new products I'm excited to try. I've being using korean products in my skincare routine these last couple of years, and I always order them for Yesstyle. It's fun to discover all these new (to me) brands and products. I'm really liking Cosrx, Some by Mi, Pyunkang Yul and for skincare. They're effective and affordable. Also, the sunscreens are amazing and they are so many of them! I think everyone would be able to find one they like :)

It's I'm From...the deal with that brand is it tells you were the ingredients are from...I would absolutely love a majority of those products. A sleeping pack is an overnight mask you use it at the end of your PM routine. I think if you had actually used some of the skin care products correctly you probably would have really enjoyed them. It made me sad to think you are going to waste them.
I saw this same advent calendar on another dermatologist channel & you were supposed to open one item per day. There's 25 products I believe because it's 25 days of Christmas (the theme). You overwhelmed yourself doing all this in one day 😂

Hi Dr. Idriss, have you tried Venn skincare brand? It is also a Kbeauty brand. It is on the pricey end. They have a vitamin b all in one activated concentrate. The line is meant to streamline and simplify. I like their products but they are on the pricey end.

I was so happy when I saw the cicaluronic cleansing balm! After I saw Dr. Dray review this product (she likes it a lot) I decided to order it and I looove it! I don't use eyeliner but my mascara , sunscreen, eye pencil etc.etc melts away! I used three times and I will continue ordering, so bye bye to my Camellia cleansing oil from TATCHA, also I ordered the CANMAKE mermaid skin gel UV (clear) two months ago and I love it too, finally! I tried so many sunscreens and I found the one, and the best part is that my husband started to use it too and he is very happy with this product, the price was around $9 the first time I ordered the second time I ordered was $13.39 , they are small but give you a nice dewy finished after it's absorbed.
I also follow Dr Dray. I loved how she opened a few items each day, it kept me excited for the next video 😅 She said in one of her more recent blogs that this cleansing balm has too much fragrance.
@@veronicaivanova I just smelled the cleansing balm, it has just a very soft fragrance that I didn't noticed at all if you didn't mentioned it. Actually I just saw Dr. Dray video again about this cleansing balm and she said that the smell reminds her like a nice hotel and it has a pleasant aroma. I like it a lot and that's a keeper for me.
