Did this on my car, love it! Still defrosts foggy windows in rain and extreme cold. For those interested, the Grimmspeed tool tray still bolts up just fine!
Just a heads up that sensor that you doing know what is it it’s your “ambient air temperature sensor” make sure you put it in a nice sturdy place that gets lots of fresh air! I learned the hard way I put my oil cooler in front of it and my car didn’t want to run right until I figured it out and moved the sensor.
You brought back memories of me pushing my BRZ into a parking lot when I couldn’t drive stick consistently yet and stalled on the road lmao. Had to push it up by myself and it was stuck on a dip too.
Great video, but when are those FTSpeed decals coming off? They don't deserve you promoting their brand anymore! Everything is surprisingly light on the FRS/BRZ and therefore weight reduction is often expensive stuff rather than just stripping out weight. It's part of what makes the FRS/BRZ so easy to work on. The real AC weight reduction comes from pulling the whole WVAC system which would mean no heater or fans.
I was gonna comment that it’s crazy that you were working with a white sweater, much respect for it, though! looks like no damage was done to it! love the videos! have a great new year my dude!
Just as I was about to be like "why is this man wrenching in a white shirt?" Great video Kevin. Keep pushing out content. Can't wait to get my GR86 (it's been almost a year grrrr)
New viewer as of 24 hours ago, did some digging into the whole fiasco with "those guys" and honestly, will spend my time and resources on your channel instead. I've added "their" channel to my "do not suggest videos from this channel" list. ;-) TLDR;brand new to you and your content, evaluated the debacle, picked my team, and its Team Kevin Vo!
Hey Kevin, love the channel and what you've done to your cars. Any chance you could email me the specs on the ramps you made ?? I have a couple lowered cars and those look like they'd be a huge help when moving my rides for a show or emergency! Thanks, hope to hear soon !!
I have a serious question for anyone who knows the answer. Why do you need a pulley to replace where the compressor was and re install that belt? If all it does it connect that to the crank, couldn't you just leave everything off?

Dude we need a video on the ramps! those are dope!
The quickjacks? He made a video on it.
@@404nobrakes nah the quick assemble ramps. i seen the quickjack video
I think I'll be doing a video covering my full truck/tent/trailer setup!

I'm going to reinstall that small mount and put it back where it was. Thanks for the heads up!
Quality vid Kev! Would look 100% better without that ftspeed decal 😉
I'll be taking those off and burning them for warmth.
Kevin!!! We need a video about wood ramp fabrication!🤣
I think I'll do a video covering the full truck/tent/trailer setup!
I liked the part where you clipped the lines with the hedge clippers. Perfect. 👌🏻
Dude white sweater, amazing 😁
Call me crazy! haha
I don’t own this car but your videos are so entertaining to watch! Keep it up dude
I don't have the car either, yes his videos are great to watch for sure.
Glad you like them! More to come!!!

Would not recommend hahaha

I did this mainly to make the engine bay look a lot cleaner. I never use AC anyway so it's not missed.
Congrats on still making solid content from your home garage
More to come!
I'm quite surprised the aircon was not very heavy, very interesting though.
I think when all is said and done I'll be taking out a total of 30lbs for the hvac system.
I was gonna comment that it’s crazy that you were working with a white sweater, much respect for it, though! looks like no damage was done to it!
love the videos! have a great new year my dude!
On a side note, the FRS just looks so dang good
I think so too! Just have some decals to replace haha
that ingenuity, if i didn’t live so far I would of can over
Sorry bro but AC is just as important as a transmission or engine in Florida. My last fun car was an EK with a gsr swap. Unbearable during not winter
If it wasn't a race car, I wouldn't be doing this haha I love my ac!
This would be a great mod for autocross where the intent is to improve lap time. This isn’t a daily driver for him.
Just as I was about to be like "why is this man wrenching in a white shirt?" Great video Kevin. Keep pushing out content. Can't wait to get my GR86 (it's been almost a year grrrr)
Just like every 86 going back the AE86, the AC inevitably gets deleted.
At-least yours is a race car. (Sweet build)
omg when you were pushing the car in....i had to close my eyes cause the first thing that came to mind were torn Achilles 😰
Oof I didn't even think about that, my friend actually tore his recently.

Welcome to the team! Appreciate your support!!!
How’s the Billetworks short throw holding up? Still feeling decent?
Yes, still feels great! However, I may change it up to an IRP. Not sure yet.
@@KevinVo can’t imagine the shift getting much shorter.
Another great video Kevin! Happy New Year! Next mod should be to take the FT decals off the bottom of your doors.
also I have felt that struggle of pushing a vehicle solo, feel for ya bub
I felt that pain also! I was trying to blow wind for him from afar 😂
The struggle is real! haha
16lbs out of the car ain't bad, going to need as much as we can get to keep up with the K24 swaps this year!
Going to need to lose a lot more before the season! Haha
hey kevin, please invest in a portable power bank that have jumping capabilities. sometimes it comes in handy when you think you don't need it
I had one, but not sure where it went. I'll need to pick up another!
What a great mod, not sure if I can live without AC in the summer though!
I would never do this on any other car besides my track car haha
Badass video, Kevin! Keep up the hard work!
Professional!
Ah ah ahhh my dawgs dem you’re a sick man jus kno dat fam come thru Toronto and OG gotchu big up my g
im a little late but Happy New Years brozki 🎊🎊
Happy new year!!
Thank for the vid. I just did this today but I can’t find the torques spec for the pulley bolt. Is it the same as the bracket bolts?
Good Ep, i think i will do this
Thabks for watching!
Very nice job on the ramps; smart design. Also, that tiny little battery... I need to know about this battery 😆
might be the antigravity battery
hey kevin are you still running the hks supercharger?
awesome vid bro
Hey Kevin what front splitter are u using on the frs n do u need a tune to run a different intake on the car?

I'll go over them in a video.
Nice job! Hey, if you're saving weight, you need to remove that intake manifold cover ;)
Probably wanna keep the blower if it rains, the windows gonna be fogged up
What trailer is that? Been looking for a good one for the 86
It's a Heartland Trailer Manufacturing 16ft trailer!
@@KevinVo thank you! Your videos are top-notch bro! SubieSpeed’s loss! Thank you for your heart!
@@mresab1997 appreciate your support!!
sorry to ask since I believe its in another video somewhere... may I know what size of the crewneck you are wearing? cheers
I'm 6' 165lbs and I wear a large.
@@KevinVo Thank you!!!
I have a serious question for anyone who knows the answer. Why do you need a pulley to replace where the compressor was and re install that belt? If all it does it connect that to the crank, couldn't you just leave everything off?
Because the original belt would be too long and wouldn't work.
@@KevinVo I guess I don't know the layout of the serpentine in these cars. I was thinking it was a separate belt.
Rip to the ac
RIP
I wish I could help push lol
I live in AZ, id rather have A/C than an engine
Manual transmission and you had hill. ( 😱you could get the car started 😂)
Bruh 15lbs is not worth it. I guess if you're always tracking it with the windows open, it makes sense because the AC won't do anything.
It makes sense on a race car, on anything else it would suck haha
Noooooo........we could have given you electric ac comperssor
So this is a race car? Getting rid of the AC sucks for regular driving
