      @@kat118 Because the don't side will be very frizzy and will damage your hair. It will have more knots and prone to breakage when detangling the hair. Also it is hard to manage. Idk if you can get the look after doing the things you need to do for hair.

      I love both sides but I also know that the "don't" side will look like a frizzy mess on day 2. I try to start with the "do" side on day 1 and make it to day 5-6 before the frizzy mess hits...

      It’s quite alright to wash daily! You should use daily shampoos (like Not Your Mother’s and Shesmoisture products)
      𝐎𝐫 co-washing (just using conditioner)
      but, i’m not sure if you HAVE to actually wash it with shampoo. if you don’t have to, then i rlly recommend co-washing😊

    I like the more fluffy part with volume, I think volume is more sexy. The right side looks good too but looks more wet as if it was just with a lot of styling oil. Also pretty but more romantic/ normal and less sexy.
    I think all girls who want less friz and less volume more defined curls over time even without using anything they should use organic mic of oils more often and do oil masks like Italian girls do.
    just buy oils on amazon peach kernel sweet almon argan and jojoba oil and mix them in a big bottle and add (rose dracena oil for smell or maybe organic vanilla oil for smell- add only few drops to the base oils because these are much potent should not be used alone on skin or hair. Put the oil mix after shower on moist hair they will absorb over time just don’t put too much unless before bed as a pre morning wash mask ..
    And collagen and keratin masks could be nice as well...

    • @kenziestx1
      @kenziestx1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She hasn't scrunched out the crunch or picked out & fluffed the right side yet. Once she does, it won't look hard or wet. It will be soft, defined and voluminous. Plus it will last for days.

      I'm about to purchase another Caruso Molecular Steam Curler set. I so wish I hadn't given it away! It uses steam instead of heat, sets in moments, curls wonderfully, and causes 0% damage! I've had it with my 2a/2b crown when the rest of my hair is 3a! If it were all 2b, I'd be fine with it, but there is such a huge difference between the crown and the rest, I can never get it looking even remotely uniform. It just looks silly, IMO. So from now on, I will wash and style, then when dry, wrap the uncooperative sections in steam curlers, and within 10 minutes have much more even curls!
      I was doing pin curls on those sections, but I'm terrible at it (no dexterity in my hands), and the Caruso curlers give really amazing results. Plus, the pin curls take a long time to dry, whereas the Caruso takes moments. I can brush my teeth and get dressed, and they're ready to remove. Can't beat that!

    Hey Mel, I really hope you reply to this bc this problem has been driving me crazy. What do you do if the curls themselves after being just washed are kinda frizzy? Like there is a curl clump and then hairs just kinda sticking out from it and not joining the clump?

    • @NA-bj7sl
      @NA-bj7sl 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually have the same problem. It depends on your hair type, ethnicity, water pH etc. I would recommend not finger coiling your hair or braid outs as I noticed this confuses my curl pattern even more. Definitely purchase a water filter for your shower, do apple cider vinegar rinse outs or be very very gentle when brushing your hair when wet. Good luck!

    I have very heavy, very coarse, wavy-curly hair (2c-3a). Once I rinse out my conditioner, I absolutely cannot pull my curls in any way or else they stretch out too much and frizz up. I know "just scrunching" in product is supposed to be "bad" now, but it's literally the only thing that works for me. I can't use praying hands, raking, or finger coiling. Instead I kind of pat the product all over my head, and scrunch away. Do's and don'ts of curly hair are helpful, don't get me wrong, but I really think it's all about finding what works best for YOU. If you're trying a method that is supposed to be a "do" and it's not working or you don't like the result, do it how you think looks best! As long as you're taking care of your hair's health, you do you boo boo!

    I would love to see a video with advice for people trying to embrace their curls for the first time.
    I haven’t worn my curly hair down since I was a little girl, I always just throw it up in a braid or bun. I don’t even know where to begin with my hair. I think my hair is like a 3A but I’m not totally sure.

      Ali Casper definitely agree with you on that, a thicker gel might be what you need. My hair looks good till day 3, after that I refresh the ends of my hair. I moisturize the frizzy parts with water and then mix some gel and curl lotion to style. Works wonders!

    Your hair stays curly even as you're combing through it, my hair when wet and combed through goes completely straight, the only way for me to activate my curls is to scrunch it, my problem is I can never seem to find anyone who has hair like or very similar to mine, and even with all the info out there on hair types I just never seem to fit into any category because my hair is all over the place, I have a mixture of loose spirals, tighter spirals, ringlets, and curl similar to yours, I also have one section of hair about an inch and half wide that is just straight (never curls, spirals, waves nothing). My hair is just a big bag of weird!

    • @jessicawheldon68
      @jessicawheldon68 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mine is the same and it's so frustrating! Because one day it can be gorgeous curls then the next it's one frizzy mess even tho you've done the same thing!

    • @Improbable_Fiction
      @Improbable_Fiction 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jessicawheldon68 SAME! My other problem is my hair has a lot of bounce and natural volume, but once I put a product in (no matter what kind I swear I've tried every product on the market for curly hair) I lose the volume and bounce which I love and my hair just hangs flat which I hate, so I try to use less product to keep my volume, but that always ends in a frizzy rats nest disaster. I'm starting to think there is no hope for my hair. It's either going to be a frizzy wild mess or flat and boring.

    Mell, I know this sounds crazy, but I like my soaking wet. When I hear the squish sound I know the leave-in is in the hair. I add the gel then squish my hair let it air dry I live in south Florida and its freaking hot so I take advantage of the heat. By the time I get to work by 10 am my hair is completely dry. I get great curls and this method works for me.
