He plays Tetris very badly because he doesn't want to clear just one line he wants to clear the maximum of lines possible but this doesn't always work. So by striving for perfection a perfectionist can fail at their task.
Jim is an actual POS. That warning Ryan gave him was actually long overdue for a real office scenario. The only reason he survives is because his job means nothing to him . Just contrast it with what happened over at the other office where people actually had work.

I think they were pretty close in first 2 seasons. Ryan definitely admired Jim, you can even see him enjoying his pranks on Dwight at that time (For example, when Michael was away and Dwight was recording the meetings and Jim just starts making things up like Dwight harassing him and others. You can see Ryan enjoying that prank) And I guess he admired Jim cause other than Ryan himself at the time, Jim and Pam were the only two who felt normal. And beside being normal, Jim was also really good at sales, so it makes sense why Ryan would like him. But once he became the manager, those things he admired about Jim became exact reason of worry to Ryan as he knew if Jim didn't backed out of the interview, he probably would've gotten the position that he had. So, Ryan started pushing Jim down so he won't be able to rise to top to challenge Ryan.
There are other hints that Ryan is a conceited jerk who thinks he is better than everyone. Like when he was eating string cheese without tearing pieces from it, and said he "started going for it at the age of 5" or when Jim asked him if he wanted to pull a prank on Dwight, Ryan responds with "not right now, but ask me again 15 years ago"
And he gets dropped off by his mum. Never understood people like him, honestly. You gotta face yourself to improve, not just act like you're better. Where does his ego even come from?? His sense of entitlement??
