Rayan Arroyo is such a funny character. He so clearly sees himself as above even talking to you but is too diplomatic to say it directly, probably because directly insulting you would lower him below his station. So naturally, whether you're aware of it or not, the game gives you lots of dialogue options where you can treat him like a friend, a drinking buddy to share all of your problems with, which, judging by these new content's dialogue options, seems to be slowly consuming his sanity.
Legion has always been known as one of the strongest Capital ship in the game it's why Legion spam is a viable option in the late game especially if you're hunting [REDACTED] for AI cores.
So I just found out about something while doing a heavily modded run since most of my 0.96 mods have been updated. I was visting Sindria with PAGSM enabled and I bought a 10 pack of sunglasses from the gift shop at the museum and guess what? You can give pair to Alviss!
Dang that's a cool trick with the Legion. My usual strategy for the Ziggurat is throwing everything at it and losing most of my fleet but having the yellow skills that make everything easily recoverable. 🤣
I'm gonna be honest, your theory about the ziggurat, AI cores and p-space creatures, at first it sounded like the kind of thing that's definitely wrong but interesting nonetheless. Then i actually looked in the game files for the ziggurat pilot portrait and my opinion instantly changed edit: forgot to mention there are no remnant phase ships
If phase skimming counts, then the radiant is one. But then again, the game seems to make a distinction between phase skimming, phasing, and teleporting (what the hyperion does).
there is a mod that lets you transport the cryosleeper by making it part of your fleet to any planet it's reworked, so the cryosleeper depletes after a while when it's used by the cryorevival facility
I believe the "asteroid bombardment" condition can be found on Maxios in the core world Magec system. That's the only planet that I know which spawns with that condition
Just got the TT deal on my current playthrough. After finally getting a nice fleet I was finally capable of stopping the mercenary attacks. With the 100 progress points I got from that I just robbed a couple corporate traders and raided their weakest colony a few times. Didn’t even know I could make a deal with hight TT contacts until I talked to the guy from the main story again. Since I was already done with the hard part he immediately offered me the deal XD Now I have a 20 % accessibility bonus.
I love the comments so much :D (havent watched yet) also, you are the one person I can watch play starsector and not get that horrible itch of "just let me fucking do it" which I think is impressive... even with the occasional mistake or doing something I wouldnt have
Came back to this vid cause I started watching while playing starsector, which thank you for some rather great insight to the game btw. That's not why im here, im here because the Zig is a pain in the butt to fight not to mention the smaller pieces of Tesseract (Havent squared up against the big one yet.) like holy crap, the damn thing adjusts to your ship...both were hard and expensive fights.
I dont know why I watch your videos. You get into a fight like the first bounty, DONT EVEN USE THE LEGION and destroy them. I think to myself "Easy, I'm just going to do what he did" and get my shit rocked repeatedly by a similar fleet even when I use the legion! I'll keep watching these videos, going through the backlog and the cycle will continue lol!
Very neat build! XIV Legion is a fantastic ship, & easily better than the Paragon. Base Legion is no slouch either, and might actually be even better for your fleet, depending on your fleet comp. I am running a Pegasus flag, along with a Daggerx6 Astral, so the XIV is my choice for a third capital (on Spacer difficulty.) PCL is a very interesting weapon, and I think a very underrated one. I have played around with it a little, but not too much. What I can say is that it might be one of the best PD weapons in the game.
"There is no reason for you to sit all the way back there" In my time playing Starsector, even Battle Carriers still act like sissies despite big guns. You can expect AT LEAST to get close ONCE and then slowly keep going back forever. Not to mention, ships with missiles and point defense and nothing else behave very cowardly like a Cautious officer, and i am not sure if Devastators even count as Large Point Defense but it might given the Legion behavior and the fact Devastators are good for point defense anyway. And then 5 seconds later he says that.
"I hired you to deal with fighters for a reason, Omen" Boss, I think I deserve a raise Would be funny if thats a mod for TT officers, where they can ditch you mid fight if you dont pay em and you gotta fight enemies AND have a little text adventure at the same time to get them to work for you again. Would be even better if you can extend the ability to talk to the enemy during combat, like killing the boss of a bounty and then convince the rest of his fleet that its JOEVER and they should retreat (because you yourself cant really safely disengage without killing more ships first besides the bounty one)
Man, if only there was a skill that lets me lobotomize my fleet into obeying exactly like units on an RTS and have no self preservation beyond the orders i tell them to. You would think that with cybernetics being a thing in the setting it would be a thing that could be used, or even salvage an Domain Era version of it that allows this that TryTachion WISHES they could have. Better yet, if this skills opens up something like a Final Fantasy 12 or Dragon Age Origins style of "programing" your ships AI then we wouldnt be sitting here feeling sorry for ourselves cause we cant put a cool weapon on an AI ship cause it cant pilot it as good as the player.
Lets just have the Contacts not only give you the oportunity to buy surplus of military equipment with their or your blueprints, they should also send you a message when you are far away (or have a sniffer for that faction) to tell you about a sale of a ship or weapon you need.
Yeah but I am talking about normal hiring. Why not let me hire and THEN let me decide who stays on the field and who on the bench? Crew (the commodity) cost me money when being on my fleet, and then less money when it being stored. The game understand that you can have way more beyond your maximum limit and put some stuff on "storage" so to speak, but not officers?
Whats the point of a PlanetKiller on the Ludic Path if Saturation Bombardment is readily available? If a colony already ate a saturation then it makes the next one easier.
Ah the problem with the ships we order to protect us running away. Probably the only reason I lose fights with the Ziggurat... Sometimes I look at the map and find myself alone and surrounded from all sides XD
I am shocked you didnt just raid for the blueprint or even look for an Arms Dealer Contact that could produce those from his or your blueprints. Hell, maybe the Alpha Core quest could had one on the crate.
The legion was derping out in that station fight because you didnt fit an offensive weapon, only fighters and PD, in which case the carrier actively avoid engagement
Becasue colonies default to the market once they have a commerce installed, I refuse to put commerce on my home planet even if it is the most profitable colony I have. I'll take convenient fleet storage over extra credits any day.
1:36:00 - It's a common millennial writing problem, they don't really get the idea of reverence because they're never noticed anything worthy of it. So they see it as silly and write cocky characters to act out that attitude , which was probably funny back in 1994 but now it's just annoying.

The Legion replied:
"If the Ziggurat would have tachyon lances and a smart AI, it might give me a little trouble"
The High Hegemon asked:
"Would you lose?"
The Legion smiled.
"Nah, I'd win."

Look at this man, drenched in PCL cheese yet facing a poor Ziggy and claiming he is the strongest
The fraudgemony is in shambles right now.
Big Brain: PCL means Proximity Charge Launcher
My Brain: Ah yess, Phase Change Laterials, of course
Thanks! I didn't know what that mean
"Bringing the Legion to this fight was a mistake." Legion: "Why are you making me tank half a fleet and not even letting me shoot any of them?"
The legion's stocks are peaking rn
Legion has always been known as one of the strongest Capital ship in the game it's why Legion spam is a viable option in the late game especially if you're hunting [REDACTED] for AI cores.
A XIV legion with six wings of kopeshes and a pair of hammer barrages can output more DPS than any other ship in the game.
Domain Expansion: Big Brain Energy
Re edit: Domain Expansion: Console commands! 😸
Edit: Fun fact: Ziggurat means high temple in sumerian and assyrian.

This is incredible.
huh? what mod is this?
@@l4dfanatic11 it was in my comment but the full name is "Phillip Andrada Gas Station Manager"
I can't get enough of your soothing voice ❤
Its so joever for phase ship bros 😔
Dang that's a cool trick with the Legion. My usual strategy for the Ziggurat is throwing everything at it and losing most of my fleet but having the yellow skills that make everything easily recoverable. 🤣
Honestly, anything works as long as you've got a decent bit of armour, automated repairs and a lot of PD.
You can't out HE the Hutt, Ziggyman.
High tech : oh no my shield is depleted / i cannot phase away
Low tech : MY FACE IS MY SHIELD , ALL FLUX DISTRIBUTION TO WEAPONS
Going to work so look forward to seeing and hearing of your sweet sweet revenge later ^_^

"I thought you'd be taller" is a reference to when Princess Leia first sees Luke Skywalker, disguised as a Stormtrooper.
There was a recorded case of a fighter pilot shooting a cannon burst and then running into it.
Low Tech Superiority! That said you make Fury's look really scary.

I make a video with a Legion that soloes a Ziggurat and then you make this one, what a coincidence! Surely these videos are unrelated.
I believe the "asteroid bombardment" condition can be found on Maxios in the core world Magec system. That's the only planet that I know which spawns with that condition
Killa and Hanan Pacha has it too

And then 5 seconds later he says that.
Noob question. Why can't you do the same with XIV Battle-group variant?
I see. Two large ballistic instead of large misiles. And 5 composite slots that allows misiles.
"I hired you to deal with fighters for a reason, Omen"
Boss, I think I deserve a raise

He did it before...
He'll do it again!
If they ever decided to add voice acting you should def do Arroyo. Lol
If there was a large slot equivalent of the PCL, even the legion XIV would be able to get in on this action.
Man, if only there was a skill that lets me lobotomize my fleet into obeying exactly like units on an RTS and have no self preservation beyond the orders i tell them to. 1:29:43 Yes, I've had it where Sensor Ghosts would emergency burn at me before.
kickstarter to buy you a new mouse when?
Are you the strongest because youre a capital ship or are you a capital ship because you're the strongest
Would it kill the game to just let me hire officers past the maximum and put them on a bench so i can pick them up when i need their skillset?
It does work with those random officers that you pick up from pods.
Havent finished the video, but didnt you check if you LEARNED the PML from that Missile Blueprint Pack a video ago?
you should do an agressive venting paragon bulid, tons of fun

i wonder ,would this legion meta worked if devs made ziggurat's weapons randomized ?
The legion was derping out in that station fight because you didnt fit an offensive weapon, only fighters and PD, in which case the carrier actively avoid engagement
You know, you could just use Dev Mode to unlock Ziggy on the simulator (normal and nerfed variants) to test your designs.
Bingus bro just putting money away for early retirement.
tachie cruisers tend to have charge launchers. just blap some trade fleets and youd have all the pcls youd need in no time. x)
Id love someone to have an AI auto voice some of these dialogs. Maybe a mod idea?
How do you get consol commands and how do you spawn stuff in?
Mods. Look up starsector console commands.
30:12 I cant believe I couldve been doing this rather than individually clicking
Since the Ballistic Rangefinder came in, the standard Legion easily beats the XIV for me
Becasue colonies default to the market once they have a commerce installed, I refuse to put commerce on my home planet even if it is the most profitable colony I have.
I'll take convenient fleet storage over extra credits any day.
im sorry? Do you have a moment to talk about the planetkiller? XD
it's just me that has issues with paysafe paying the St guys to give the me activation code?
There is an omega cache in that system, you know. :)
Ziggu-rat
why hegemony dude was not british?
I will sue you for your gamer licence. Expect a letter soon!
Pcls are on Sindria, noob
What the hell are PCLs?
Proximity Charge Launcher
o7 Legion
fn chitor! dis!
13 fleets with 3 pegasus with two hydras MDEM each... I beat only 4. I with the star fortress. Don't make the league angry.
1:30:44 ronald regan star wars was basically a planetary shield but lasers
spawning in the PCL's legitimately ruined the playthrough...
