I really enjoy these long videos, I know you said it's better to stream but I find that video formats and no chat interaction are nice:) Either way, I'd watch the videos, though! Streamed or not. Thanks for the consistent uploads, you're one of the best Starsector content creators on TH-cam!
Agreed. Streams suck to me. I don't want to hear "hi blah" "thanks for the sub" and shit like that. I'd much rather hear commentary on what he thinks about what's going on in the game.
Your comment at 1:31:33 got me thinking that yeah, larger stations would definitely feel better. It never made sense to me how some capital ships could compare in size to something like a station. It should feel like a hulking behemoth to overcome, not a glorified spinning capital ship with sectional damage.
Also, you might want to read the Reverse Polarity description closely--if you use it inside a slipstream, it costs you a decent chunk of supplies, so using an e-burn is probably the way to go rather than reversing several times.
@1:01:30 Didn't realize one can "enhance" built in hullmods like Solar Shielding without counting against the s-mod limit. Did it now for my Executor, and with the free bonus experience its effectively a free upgrade.
I gave planetkiller to the pathers because i had 6 planets by that point, so even if they blow one of them up i'll just genocide their core holdings in turn and call it even.
ever since v97 i have seen Executors not shooting their fucking lasers as well even when they are at mid to close range for some reason, and they are using High Intensity Lasers, Gravitons, Tacticals and EMP laser, stuff that usually DOESNT cost too much flux. They do it at the longest range but as they get closer they stop using them for some reason sometimes. I guess Sunders got the same problem prob because they have the same system? It does seem the energy buff of the system last longer or up to certain DPS is used, given that the weapons are glowing for far longer which would indicate their duration got buffed but i see the duration on the UI itself on the system is the same.
Oh, at the end that was a funny misconception, because the ships around the mothership dont respawn. So you can go in, fight until your peak time is almost up, retreat and go in again. What you cant do is retreat flyarpund to recover cr and then enfage again.
"Crisis are not a big deal as long you are not past Size 3" Well, the AI Inspections dont show up if you are S3. The other wills if you meet their unique conditions, like fuel Sindria (obviously), producing more than anyone, ai and high tech use, etc etc. You can see the pirates already are looking at you even at size 3.
So looks like this episode's view growth is at least 75% faster than the previous one AND it's episode 3 which normally would mean the views should be less, so I think the premier helped ❤
As always, your vids pull me back into this game. This captain's log mod looks like a kind of must have quality of life feature that should be in the game. Do you have a version that works on the latest patch, or just edited the mod-info to make it work? And does it work with saved games?
It's safe to add to existing games. I don't know of any up to date version, but the mod is compatible with the current patch as long you go into the "mod info" file and change it from version 0.96 to the current version.
"for instance the knights of ludd, enforcing the will of the church by force despite the fact that Ludd himself would strongly oppose that" gee i wonder why that sounds familiar lol
You know what might've caused those Sunder Tachyon issues? In previous patches it sometimes happened that friendly ships hit each other with the beam since it has a charge up and then lasts for a bit. Which made for some hilarious but unfortunate frigate kills for no reason. Maybe it was changed somtimes so that the AI is more careful with it but I have no clue if that change even exists. It's just speculation on my part since I have no explanation for your Sunder, even if the weapon groups are completely borked.
The only AI change that I can think of that might be relevant is the HEF change. Alex aparently tweaked it so ships would be better at synchronizing their best energy weapons with HEF activations, and I have noticed the improvement there, but it might've also introduced unintended behaviors where the AI fires far less than it should.
Well, seeing you taking down BS with 1 cruiser, 1 destroyer and 4 frigates I have to say that I'm struggling with even the most basic combat skills - losing to a logistic convoy with one BS and bunch of Geminis when I have 2 XIV legions, Paragon and Astral... :D
The void pierces you with its gaze (I want to see how you react to the abyss really :p) *Oh damn its joever now, nevermind DX ((I advice to save in storage a thousand transplutonics before going exploring just to have it at hand, will be used for reasons))
I dont think you get more fuel by raiding then destroying the pirate base than just killing the base from the start. You just get what was left. If anything you should keep pirate bases alive as a "refueling" station that you can raid for free on the outer rims of the core worlds.
Does the random dorito not spawn anymore when you see a hypershunt? Maybe go touch it to spawn it cause that one is really weak and you might get your blaster out of it.
I Wana enjoy this game but the combination of kinda starting grind and anxiety over just getting caught by some big fleet when I'm trying to do smuggling or something plus getting bored also cuz...idk?? I love the combat nd the sounds of it and all that but ive just had this weird hesitation to play the game more for like 20 nebulous reasons i can't really place and they're all kinda contradicting... At least i have these vids and other more meme-y vids in the mean time... That being said im more a low tech fan... ballistics and missiles and such
2:14:31 this specific friendly fire issue along with the sunder's previous antics are supposedly addressed by the AI Tweaks mod on mod index. i was at first hesitant to use it cause i like how "Vanilla AI is written so that it actions resemble that of a human", but somehow it feels more human for the AI not to make these stupid blunders 2:16:27 also hilarious critical malfunction
taking a break from playing starsector by watching you play starsector
I know that feeling.
"How did the Sunder explode?"
Low CR means malfunctions and you take damage.
My man finally got his adderall prescribed and this upload schedule is proof.
Or is this what the morning run does to a man?
this is what exercise does to a mofo.. smh
The upload schedule is immaculate
Upload schedule? In this economy?

ah yeah the mothership is going to be easy right ?
Babe wake up, massive mind power uploaded a 2h video for the 3rd day in a row
That sunder straight up griefed you and then died to nothing. Trully peak starsector ai moment.
This is what real gaming looks like.
Glory to the Bingus Domain

I am dying inside due to your complete lack of surveying ships while exploring
2:16:42 critical malfunctions can inflict hull damage, and finish off ships that are already low. tbf this used to confuse me too
The friendly fire avoidance for the AI is insane, yeah. That's why your Sunder wasn't firing. Big problem for me too with SO builds
I fucking love Ramparts

Stellar networks is your friendliest mod, if you want a way to not have to search for your officers randomly. I find it a useful tool.
Is it compatible with 0.97?
@@Squee.1366Yes. Change the mod.json file from 96 to 97. Then it works. Works with all other mods to
