Wow you are super knowledgeable about Starsector, i like your fast gameplay and that you actually also know your stuff. Unlike other very slow content creators out there.👍
Unless you've modified sale prices or salvage returns, salvaging straight from battle is always worth more than salvaging and repairing or selling. The math gets *almost* break-even with the free-repair-after-battle perk, but without it you're always better off salvaging off the battlefield any ships you don't want to keep for your own use.
You're 100% right, ran some quick tests from vanilla tutorial and it was indeed more profitable to just scrap/salvage outright! I usually take that third Industrial perk, so I have probably fooled myself over the years, but noted for the future.
This game is absolutely amazing. Yes, I use tons of mods to make it even better, but the thing is, even when I play Baldur's Gate 3, this game is still something I want to play and watch.
I think commissions are OP so I changed the config to make the monthly payout way less and increase the payout per fight. Imo it doesnt make sense that you can just accept a commission, get no orders at all and still be paid massively per month
Commission is quite good. It would be fine for the Easy mode, but on normal it should be reduced. I think a system like Bannerlord has for mercenaries (gain influence from fights and missions that is turned into pay) would be really intriguing.
@ButterBaronet you can edit the game config to change those values. The way I did it it mimics bannerlord's system except for the instant payout after fights
@@MegaTranquilla I'm looking at the setting right now lol Any specific settings you updated that might not be obvious? I turned Galatia Stipend to False and was thinking half for all the faction commissions/stipends, right now. Pair those with the Spacer start, and money could become an issue for once.
I wish you got your pay docked for not helping out enough, yeah. Also, having to take part in raids would be an interesting way to shepherd your into big battles and the penalty would just be getting your pay docked
Only two reasons, I enjoy the zipping around and it slightyyy reduces CR. You are 100% right though, using Transverse jump is the better option - it's quicker than flying, and therefore the Supply Cost is usually better, and it saves you real-world time, too.
Hiver weapon balance is weird lmao. Their weapons range from "this is literally worse than vanilla weapons" to "this is literally better than omega weapons"
Spees Up mod, available on the Fractal forums. I don't think I can play without it anymore, even though blitzing through hyperspace with it on can be a death trap
why are you salvaging the ships after battle then selling them, it reduces the amount of scrap after battle more than the cost of the ships, and scuttling them produces more resources in terms of what you could sell them for.
>recovering useless ships instead of scrapping them, and not even stripping off the weapons which is the only valid case where you want to recover trash ships I retch. Vomit, even
wow turn off flashbang scrub i'm sure this is the millionth time it's been said, because everybody always says it to whatever starsector noob starts making videos about it

Appreciate the vote of confidence, I still know half what I would like but certainly night-and-day from my first experiences.

Holy shit dude! I'm only 25 minutes in and that was pretty awesome!
very fitting that you start out the swarm series by fighting a giant pirate swarm xD. great video

Starsector makes it easy to load up on mods, like Rimworld, you can hardly get enough.
Yeah, new starsector series! 🥳❤
It's been a while!

Why do you bother going to the jumppoints? I always transverse jump, the time saved quickly accumulates.

Cool series

Hey. How are you speeding up time in battle?

I love how "we" make mistakes... obviously im not watching the video hard enough or something, for the mistakes to be partially my fault

How come you didn’t add any other human factions on this run?
Thought Vanilla factions s Hiver would be fun lol but I was wrong.
@@ButterBaronet I gotcha! I see your vision now lol
@@Brymer3440 I gotta say, the Hiver Faction is tough and would likely add modded factions if I did it again.
Man, try to have a excelsior this run, you wont regret it.
I really look forward to the new capitals. I will have to do something Vanilla soon so I can keep everything base.
don`t block your own ships in combat^^
