9:22 oh btw, in the lethia system near the destroyed gate there’s a guaranteed spawn of a derelict battle cruiser and in an asteroid belt an onslaught, do with this knowledge what you will
This is just normal Rarr, the average morality of a spacer can only be measured in how many nacrotic can you fill inside of a Paragon. Also I would recommend the Space Trucking mod if you want to do a PERFECT moral run.
Only you could set out with the goal of becoming peaceful farmers and end up conquering half of the core worlds and then accidentally gift it to the Persean League. Bravo Rarr, your dumbassery knows no bounds. Love your vids, man
I can finally confidently say I know how to play starsector, I was intimidated because it seemed so complicated but after seeing you have so much fun with the game I gave it a try and it’s awesome
Yeah, that loss of governorship at the end is caused by AOTD Question of Loyalty. Changes how the commission works, letting you do more things the higher your rank is, but you have to stay in to keep it all. It pretty much enforces what Sseth said in his Quasimorph review video: "Pick a side, any side... AND STICK TO IT."
Literally every good company in a nutshell starts good and humble, and finding one that stays that way is harder to find then finding a new planet without Astrological skills.
I discovered your channel after I got jumped just before xmas and my phone got stolen. TH-cam decided yours was a random channel to show users that weren''t logged in - and I always binge youtube in bed Starsector should pay you a commission. I've binge watched SO MANY of your videos and just bought Star Sector! Keep up the good work
Aotd question of loyalty does the thing,if you commissioned by faction any colony of yours will be turning into the faction colony, own by them, you only own the governship of the colony,if you force leave the faction will high ranks,it turn hostile towards you ,and all of your colony don't listen to you anymore
2:07 I suddenly thought of a book. The protagonist, after launching a torpedo, hides underwater and then hears a thud. The reason is that they were hit by a torpedo from the allied forces on the other side, but it was a dud.
I always love to see a new Starsector video from you since they help me realise there are more ways to play the game than what I usually end up doing. Every run of Starsector I play, regardless of origin, ends up with me doing honest smuggling (no market manipulation) until I get enough money for a fleet that forces me to do bounties in midst of trading just to pay for upkeep. At least until I scrape together enough credit to colonise something that can finally pay for my CSA (Capital Ship Addiction). Then I start hating all the "friends" I made as a trader when they want my colonies and plot to gimp their fleets by raiding their capitals for nanoforges. Its just the natural progression of game for me.
Just pointing out, Nintendo started by selling handmade illegal trading cards. "Murica started by illegally dumping tons of tea. Basically: getting an illegal start is a completely legitimate startup strat.
Oh that ending hurt, losing basically your entire influence I'm not saying you should satbomb the entire Persean League in retaliation for your own mistake, but y'know.....
2:05 y'know, electric arcs are a hellova thing. If you have a semibreve, or equally dense and fast torpedo, you can push a ship out of the map if they zap it.
In description there are clearly written: Any planet you have governorship after seceding from it goes to them. Ashes of the Doman is amazing mod tho, you can literally become that faction. In upcoming updates they want to actually make that you can secede with the planets.
Just yesterday I was watching one of your old videos and wondering if you were about to release a new one, today I watched this whole thing before realizing it was brand new lol
I had a starsector run of my own play out very similar to this, except when it was time to leave the League I liquidated all my assets on the planets I had governed, leaving the league the horribly unstable and starportless planets, and founded my colonies once I left so the grubby League couldn't steal them. The run went very well, I think the cycle is 256, the core solely exists so I can sell my stuff to them, and I stand as the dominant military faction in the sector
> Bribe the navarchs into supporting your bid to become president of the galaxy > Declare war on the navarchs > The navarchs impeach you across a dozen League worlds > Surprised Pikachu face
“I started out with good intentions” Dude that has been like every war in human history, people simply want the best for their country and recognize that someone else land would do quite a lot in helping their country prosper.
God bless RAT INDUSTRIES. Next time you should play with every single faction mod you can find enabled. And as many colonies as possible. Just complete utter chaos.
In the future you could wage corporate war by buying out a faction then deleting everything on the bought planets then leaving the faction rinse and repeat
"Huh... Rarr is gonna start out trying to be the good guy? This should be interesting!" Me the first 5mins of the video: "... at what point did he make even the tiniest effort to do anything resembling an ethical choice?"
@@cideltacommand7169 I appreciate the offer, but I'm fortunate enough to be in a position to buy the games I want. Save it for someone else who isn't as lucky.
Actually, this makes perfect sense. All corporations (mostly) start out beloved and with good intentions until, well, let's just take Blizzard as an example.
I never understood why fight the pirates instead of befriending them: Unlike every single other faction, once befriended, pirates will not screw with you in any way - no hegemony AI inspections, no bombing your market because you are too profitable, no Luddic path cells, and most importantly - no random reduction in standing... AND pirates have access to the widest selection of hulls and weapons...
@15:36 "all my colonies are at level 5 at this point" Dude spent 9 in game years btw, he's more forgiving than I am. By year 5 I usually have a sided faction as a majority producer, if not owner of most planets. Longer than most of my play throughs😂
Unsure if you'll see this Rarr, but I have an idea for a run for you, there's this mod called Random Assortment of Things (or RAT), which adds a dungeon-type system in abyssal hyperspace, called the Abyssal Depths, inside is a slew of unique ships, ai cores, and a super ship you can fight and take for your own called the Genisis, it is OP as fuck, especially one of it's main weapons, the Abbadon's Lance, basically a mass one shot kill, you can even add a unique hull mod that allows you to crew it with humans (all ships in the Abyssal Depths are automated, with unique hullmods for them) and the ai cores can only be used on these ships, but yeah, something you could do if you want to do another genocide run, or just have an OP fleet to clap everything!
Have a good christmas everyone, see you all next year much love
Merry Christmas Rarr
What question what is the best way to raid a planet to get maximum amount of resources

Eh marines don't really mind being very close together in a tight space, it makes it easier for them to cuddle

It could always be a Sat bombardment.
You are one of the reasons I began playing Starsector Rarr, love your videos.
Thank you good sir.

Same, that and Sseth's video. Love space piracy.
Definitely same here
Im gonna have to try it again. I tried a couple times but didnt really understand it and gave up
13:00 i think Rarr got kidnapped and replaced because there is very little chance he starts using tactics out of nowhere
True! He must of listened to chat during a stream... which is also very unlike Rarr. XD
Evil Rarr.
9:22 oh btw, in the lethia system near the destroyed gate there’s a guaranteed spawn of a derelict battle cruiser and in an asteroid belt an onslaught, do with this knowledge what you will
Huh
Huh nice
wait, is the lethia fleet in modded starbound (I don't know exactly which mod it comes from, probably frackin) named after a starsector thing?
@kittyshippercavegirl no it’s tahlan shipworks
@kittyshippercavegirl lethia and the great houses of Kassandra as a whole are an addition from the mod tahlan shipyard

Even without the mod you'll still lose your governorship if you become hostile to the faction.
@@ThatSlowTypingGuy I think he mean the part you lose the governorship of the planet you colonized is caused by Question of Loyalty.
yeah question of loyalty basically makes you part of the faction, but also when you quit the faction, your planets stay in the faction
