As the God Gamer, who alone was considered the honored one, entered the system, he used "Domain Expansion: Consider Ship Recovery" which drew the attention of the King of Phase Ships. The Ziggurat said, "Stand proud, you're strong. You recovered the ISIS Hamatsu and awakened me knowing my power. But are you strong because you are the god gamer or are you the god gamer because you are strong?" The God Gamer smiled and confidently said, "If you are unsure who is going to try and do this quest a little too early, always bet on the God Gamer." The Ziggurat responded, "If we were to fight, who would win? You, or me?" The God Gamer rebuked, "Well, if you were to pursue me, I might have a little trouble." To which the Zigurrat said, "But would you lose?" The God Gamer smirked and said, "Nah, I'd win."
I admit that Sseth introduced me to Starsector but you really are my favorite Creator and i love this current series since i have started my own High Tech Fleet
Yeah same for me. He talks normally like a normal dude, so I can just play these videos in the background while playing my own game or while travelling. I don't know of any other youtuber who is actually knowledgeable and soothing at the same time lol. I wonder if that general grievous guy from the forums has a channel
I actually found Starsector by random chance, not really actively searching for it. I will say that I enjoy your starsector content overall, its got good info, some hint of storytelling, deep dives, strategy, builds, theorycrafting, and clever humor. The only other starsector content creator I can think of is Rarr and he's mostly hilarious (which i enjoy) and tends to be solely focused on a more storyteller approach.
Rarr does an impressive job at spinning a unique story out starsector's gameplay. I'd like to try leaning more into that narrative approach in the future, but for now I'm just doing what comes naturally.
There are a bunch of small channels playing Starsector, and since I can't get enough of it, I enjoy scouring them for hidden gems. This channel is absolutely top of the pack, though. I enjoy Rarr's wacky challenge runs and banter with the live chat, but BBE's videos have made me way better at the game, which makes it way more fun too. The only other content creator that has even remotely affected the way I play is Francis John, whose Keyser Söze challenge run made me appreciate just how ridiculously OP S-modded Insulated Engine Assembly is and the value of being great at hiding and running away. 😅 Imagine if any other faction figured that out and just hung out in debris fields and nebulae with a slew of capital ships all with a sensor profile of 15...
@@bigbrainenergyguy You are the most technical and knowledgeable content creator when it comes to starsector in my opinion. I always end up learning something watching you play. Whilst it would be interesting to see you try more narrative campaign, I would love to see you play challenging modded campaigns. The hiver zero to hero scenario looks good, and some mods add ships that are well balanced. Some people like Rarr play these but unfortunately nobody go to the same extent as you do when explaining and theorycrafting.
About the "Pirate's Respite" Accessibility. Beating back the crisis would only give you +10%, to get the other +10% you still have to pay Kanta off. If you just pay her first, you go straight to the full +20% bonus.
1 shield shunted Armor/Hull stacked Dominator is enough to completely face-tank the Ziggurat, the motes do no damage to it as long as you have the proper hull-mods, automated repair unit is just the cherry on top that makes it to where even when your stuff goes offline it just comes right back up...
The non-story-point option for disengaging automatically works as a safeguard for particularly small fleets. Perhaps the last few times you visited it, you had a smaller fleet?

There is some version of an alternative reputation system where if you fail a concerned person's transport request, you need to make a safety deposit until you make some successful deliveries.
I think for the 'switching sides' reputation system, you could just have a second number that's your 'peak reputation' with a faction or even your lowest point, which NPCs can contextually refer to where how you were previously viewed would be relevant even if it may have changed now
Speaking of your chat about ships, I think League and Sindrian Diktat deserve some love. Like i sometimes forget that they exist in this game 😅. I think every faction should have their own ships and/or have custom versions of those commonly used (like pirates do), with high tech being what Tri-Tachyon is known for, pirates for customizing every ship that exists for their variant, and hegemony using...I dunno. Midline ships? The most common ones? Also! Maybe add different combat doctrines for factions. Like faction x uses a lot of carriers, while factions y follows wolfpack tactics, swarming their opponents with small ships
hedge uses low tech ships, church uses lower tech ships, league is midline, and sindrian tic tak is a sort of modified midline, though you hardly ever see their variants of ships
Its alreas there though. Church and hegemony anre lowtech steady heavily armored gunlines, legue is fast midline with a lot of missiles, and tritach is hightech with lots of carriers and phase ships.
Yes, using Kanta Protection removes the pirate points completely, this never achieving the permanent bonus in accesibility for dealing with the Crisis at maximum effect.
You CAN slap medium missiles on large missile slot. Its only on HYBRIDS/SYNERGY/whatever slots that you are stuck to large to large, medium to medium, small to small. I wonder how the Zigg reacts to pressure from Annihilator Pods on one hand and Proximity Mines in the other. Sure its less damage but the near constant stream of missiles would probably screw the AI more enough to reach 90% flux.
"of course they have an Arena" Even more reason for people to mod Hotline Miami gameplay for raids instead of autoresolve number crunch. Now that an arena exists, it would be nice to fight there to gain respect and prizes from the Pirates. But i guess the closest we gonna get its recycled Prince of Persia gameplay of that Hegemony event.
15:51 Pirates either claim blueprints instantly (you will know if it disappears as soon as you sell it) or if they already have the tech it will just sit in the black market indefinitely Edit: Same applies to colony items. If you sell a colony item on the open market of a colony that can use it, it will equip it and you can't retrieve it without marines. Or it will just sit there until you buy it back. Don't know if this also applies to AI cores, but if you want my best guess, it probably depends on the faction.
I like a lot of the features of Nexerelin, but if I could pick one feature from it to add to the base game, it would be randomized core worlds. Starsector has a ton of replayability as-is with the randomized non-core worlds and tons of different fleet builds, but that one makes every game a new experience from start to finish. POSSIBLE! Possibly... this is the mechanics of the system crisis, when the Tri-Tachyon pursues my cargo convoys, and the Hegemony inspects them for contraband in the form of AI cores. But in fact, I've seen this a couple of times and then the Tri-Tachyon and Hegemony fleet pursued my cargo convoy fleeing from them and could not catch up. To the Idea of "fortress world" and it breaking by the lack of fuel, I just found a barren world with volatiles. Not to start anything but the original quotes are usually the longer ones. Like the jack of all trades. The shorter versions are pretty much slang, shortening the saying either on purpose or just to make it easier to say. Not sure why you got so heated about it tho lol.
The phrase was originally just "jack of all trades." Full stop. Nothing else. Records of this go back as far as the late 1500's. Then in the late 1700's we have records of the next part being added, making it "jack of all trades, master of none." The second bar, "but oftentimes better than a master of one," is found in zero sources dating before the 21rst century. What we actually see here is the opposite of what is commonly claimed: the quote is getting _longer_ as time passes, not shorter. I wouldn't say I'm heated about it, but it's interesting to me how there's this narrative of phrases being "shortened" from the originals when there's zero evidence to back up such statements. In most cases, the longer version is NOT the original.
I was shocked to find out it came out waaaaay back, because some the mechanics in it feel fresh even today. Like the frigate with a system the physically changes its shape, switching between 2 different forms. We don't have anything like that in vanilla.
Hey, whats the mod that shows the ship's direction of travel during combat? I tried looking through the forums but I just can't find what I'm looking for.
instead of Omens just use Afflictors. Find a way for them to survive longer than 5 seconds and debuff enemies, cause they dont do any of those for me for many many versions of the game.
the main oppertunity cost is that you need 4 points in industry skills to get it. if you can make that work, it's fine, though it does cost you somewhere to have fleets with no d-mods (and the same tier has the one that makes D-modded stuff more powerful, whcih is the better one to go for if you're planning to get the Automated XIV Fleet (though only the Conquest and Legion are guaranteed, the rest simply have a chance of being recoverable) (since their D-mods can't be removed).
Yeah sure, modded factions are cool, but they are still ships and thing else. Sure, Hivers are space bugs but the ships still feel like ships and not a living organism that bleeds. We dont have Lovecraftion alien horror boss fight mods. And worst of all, and OMEGA in vanilla is also guilty of this, they ALL have the same design of "LOTS of Guns looking at the front, engines always at the back and not the the sides or all over the ship, and the back of the ship is ALWAYS much less guarded than any other side, so they are always defeated by just flanking them in a 1v1" The doritos MIGHT look like an alien triangle, but still follows very "humanlike" design, you know? Everything is....dare I say..... an Onslaught? And of course, there are no mods that replace the piss filter of fighting near a sun with actual gameplay like dodging straight vertical or horizontal lines of Solar Flares or something every once in a while.
Can’t wait for Paul Bingus to say “it’s bingussing time” and then bingus all over the pirates.

Hey, whats the mod that shows the ship's direction of travel during combat? I tried looking through the forums but I just can't find what I'm looking for.
Ship direction marker. It's "out of date" but works just fine if you go into the "mod info" and change the version from 0.95 to 0.97
instead of Omens just use Afflictors. Find a way for them to survive longer than 5 seconds and debuff enemies, cause they dont do any of those for me for many many versions of the game.
What do you think of that skill that removes one d-mod per month? I tried that one and in no time my entire fleet was free of all d-mods
the main oppertunity cost is that you need 4 points in industry skills to get it. if you can make that work, it's fine, though it does cost you somewhere to have fleets with no d-mods (and the same tier has the one that makes D-modded stuff more powerful, whcih is the better one to go for if you're planning to get the Automated XIV Fleet (though only the Conquest and Legion are guaranteed, the rest simply have a chance of being recoverable) (since their D-mods can't be removed).
Yeah sure, modded factions are cool, but they are still ships and thing else.
Sure, Hivers are space bugs but the ships still feel like ships and not a living organism that bleeds.
We dont have Lovecraftion alien horror boss fight mods.
And worst of all, and OMEGA in vanilla is also guilty of this, they ALL have the same design of "LOTS of Guns looking at the front, engines always at the back and not the the sides or all over the ship, and the back of the ship is ALWAYS much less guarded than any other side, so they are always defeated by just flanking them in a 1v1"
The doritos MIGHT look like an alien triangle, but still follows very "humanlike" design, you know? Everything is....dare I say..... an Onslaught?
And of course, there are no mods that replace the piss filter of fighting near a sun with actual gameplay like dodging straight vertical or horizontal lines of Solar Flares or something every once in a while.
How do you add flux vents/caps so quickly? Autoclicker?
Hold shift while holding down the mouse button.
$BING to the moon!
Annnnnnnnnnnnnd in comes rolling in … the UAF … ahahahahahahahahahhahhhahahahahahhaahhaha waifus of warcrimes
Based and Mod-pilled
Buy a legion? I'm confused. Don't you just hunt Hegemony fleets for them like the devs intended?
👌
2:40:40 LOL
man, you should maybe not spend story points on things that can explode from making terrible decisions lmao
