Men should be & are stoic, we suffer in silence. There's nothing more pathetic than seeing a grown man cry, especially in public. I'm not talking about getting a little choked up and rubbing away a couple tears. On those very rare occasions you need to have a cry...be a man and go cry in the shower where no one can see or hear you.(as with everything in life, there are a few exceptions, death in the family...etc)

Vlad, just watched your interview with Joey Torres. Wow! I've seen a hundred of your interviews and this one touched me. Mr. Torres and I have been in some of the same places.
I never thought about this, but I think I would be a great person to interview. I had an awful childhood and was in the juvenile justice system at 14. I I did over 4 and a half years in CYA and 5 numbers in CA prisons. I believe I am the only convict in the USA who has had 2 separate life sentences in 2 different separate cases, under the 3 Strikes Law. I won appeals on both cases by way of my own legal arguments. I think I've been in 17 prisons. Following is a list of some of the infamous men I've met: Tex Watson, the Chowchilla kidnappers, Robert Downey Jr. (I was in a 63 man dorm with him for a year), I have met so many. The one who I believe will be most interesting to you and your viewers is Anton Singleton, aka Big Lurch. I was with him for almost 2 years and did some federal habeas appeals court stuff for him. I know his case intimately.
I also have an awesome race story. Growing up in the system a white guy, it was a foregone concussion that I would end up prejudice. So bad to the point where I wouldn't even listen to black artists. Then I found a sister who I did not even know i had who lived near Oakland and liked black men.. I had 2 black nieces. One day I asked myself how I could hate blacks when I have black relitives who are blood relitives? Guess who my absolute favorite artist is? Tupac! I love him and God bless you for all of the related interviews you do.
There was a happy ending for me. I finally figured out how to stay free, and I have been free over 4 years now.
Anyway, Vlad, hit me up. I would love to be on your show. It would be fun and all of my stuff can be verified. You Rock.
PS: Now I know the answer, "Do Dreams Come True". Staring at the world through my rearview.

@dannymendoza4197 I remember the 18 Streeters of the mid-1960s, they were getting their vietnam Draft notices on their last year of high school around 1966 through 1968 time period, I'm saying the ones , group that I knew back then, they'd be in their early 70's by now, the ones who are still around, some didn't get drafted because they served time incarcerated, very few are around from that time frame, Berendo/ Virgil jhs, belmont/ l.a. high I grew up on the west side of dtla, 💥👍🍺

There's a difference between this nobody interviewer and this actual gangster. The first one thinks he's gangsta because he sold drugs, the other one built an entire gang based on brotherhood. The first ones whole ambition was to make money while fcking over his entire community. The second one came together to protect himself and others in his neighborhood from discrimination. Maybe it wasn't in the best way but the first one was built on hate and greed and the second one was built in love and honor. They're not the same. The interviewer dude is a dikhead who has only cared about himself. That's why he's free bc he prob also snitched but I don't care to look up his full bio

One thing I always wonder about when you see these interviews of guys (it's mostly men) who do long stretches of prison time is what is the difference, mentally and psychologically, that allows some men to do long stretches of prison time and come out functional and some crack and crumble after a couple of years (or even days or months)? Does that make sense? We need to examine the personality traits that allow someone to be that mentally tough. I'm certain these long time inmates have psychological damage, but how do you do 40 YEARS and still remain functional? Wow!

18st was never an original barrio . The true history is taken from former LAPD officers reports that state that 18st was booted out of Clanton street which later would become Clanton 14 street, because according to reports they were rejected because they were not Mexican Americans . Once they got booted out they started by recruiting every ethnic race which has made them the biggest gang . True history look it up .

The realest parts of the story were from jailhouse. He couldn't have said anything realer than telling the world about how grimey going time really is. The guards for the most part don't give a damn, some of them are more corrupt then the prisoners. I experienced that first hand. The whole system is corrupt in some places. Terror dome lifestyle. There's no way to do more than 5 years and not have some form of hyper PTSD. It becomes burnt in the brain, the paranoia.
