  • Luis Rosado, aka Blue Boy, sat down for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started off speaking about growing up in Manhattan’s Lower East Side with his mother and four brothers, adding that his father was locked up. He then detailed having a difficult childhood, including growing up in a group home because he pushed a teacher down the stairs, and Blue Boy went on to speak about finding himself in more trouble after shooting someone. He then detailed being sentenced to 25 years to life, where Blue Boy got into more violent situations, and he also spoke about how he got a reputation for stabbing people. After serving 39 years, Blue Boy was released in December 2021, which led to him speaking about how society has changed since he was outside. To hear more, including Blue Boy speaking about being locked up with Mike Tyson, hit the full interview above.

I'm currently 29. From 13-27 I was in and out of homes/jails/prisons, I never spent 1 full year free that whole time. been off parole about 18 months and I made a promise to myself. I told myself I wouldn't be another man trapped in the system. My wife been here 10 years through all the bull stuff 3 children later finally getting ahold of life listening and reading the comments giving me some courage during a difficult time.
    Love y'all.

Hi Blue boy nuff respect for you brother...i served 26years flat in prison here in South Africa where I'm from. I'm on parole and people are testing me, they provoke me to do something stupid so that I go back to prison but after listening to your testimony I practice self control and to walk away. I find myself alone most of the times to avoid trouble and that works for me. Thanks brother for your motivation.

I had to adopt a healthy lifestyle and surround myself with positive people. I really appreciate these Vlad interviews that share prison experiences because it’s motivating and humbling to continue my path to success and freedom.

We wasn’t always on the same side of conflicts, but he’s a man and a treasure trove of lessons for us all. He testifies to what the human spirit can endure, how we can defy all odds and still maintain sanity, and his story can actually deter youngsters from crime. Much respect to the Podcast talker and to my brother Rosado AKA "Blue Boy"! I've been in several upstate facilities with Blue Boy. We shared and experienced many things together. From talking, eating, making homemade knives, doing solitary confinement time, and I being so close with him, we even talked about the saddes day of his life! When his mother passed away and he was denied and unable to go to his mother's funeral because, the Deputy Of Security and the Superintendent of the facility felt, because of Blue Boy's status it would be a threat to security. He was one of my close comrades and brothers. The last time I was with Blue Boy and saw him was at "Elmira's Correctional Facility, Classified -A- Maximum Facility". If I'm correct Blue Boy was blood or crip and I was, and still is; "A RAT HUNTER"! Me and him together was as real as any two combat soldiers, fighting together in the middle of a war. We was two comrades as REAL with one another, as one can get. We embraced one another and lived with loyalty, honor and respect. And when it came time to bang or should I say handel our business. We handled our business with a solid understanding that there would be no return, other than; getting the job done and not forcing about any consequence. Like I said, WE WAS as REAL and Loyal that any two men can be with one another. God is my witness!!! Everything, that I have experienced with this man. I can honestly say that, brother Blue Boy has come a long way. Seeing him making it home is like me seeing GOD! And seeing GOD will never happen. BLUE BOY, is a man who has did it, done it, and gone through every adversity one man can possibly go though and experienced. If Blue Boy, was able to have gone to the U.S. Military Service. I truly believe Blue Boy, could have and would had become a Green Barrette! I could honestly write a book about Blue Boy, that's how much there is to say about him. Honestly, I was very surprised to hear that the "New York State Borad Of Parole", granted him his release to go home, after so many times of them denying him. I'm happy for him, because that's one man that I can honestly say; has gone through so much in his life. What I will say to anyone who has had the privilege of meeting and being with Blue Boy. And that is, if he liked you; than you was considered to be lucky! Because anything other than that, Blue Boy would had been your worst enemy and you would had just met Lucifer in the flesh! And God is my witness, I am not Capping! Brother Blue Boy, Congratulations At Making It Home! Love God and live as righteous as you can!
Much Respect, Respectfully Yours, "RAT HUNTER" Peachy!

This is probably my favorite interview because it’s so real and he’s not trying to hide his emotions he’s giving it to you how he feels it “pause”. This video actually brought a tear to my eye because I lost my youngest Brother while I was in prison and that shit destroyed me it’s gonna be 10 years in December and it’s still hard to even talk about it today knowing I couldn’t go to his Janazah because the state said I couldn’t go even though the warden said I could because they said they couldn’t ensure their C’O’s safety with me. I just feel a lot of his pain because we don’t realize the effect we have on the people around us because to this day I always say to myself that if i went to school when I was younger then my Brothers would’ve done the same but instead I chose the streets and they followed. Anyway one choice can change your entire life for better or worse 💯‼️

I can relate with on a lot of things you spoke about. I was born in the late 70's and raised in the 80's and early 90's around older people that pushed respect hard. As time went on, a lot of the issues I encountered was because people thought they could disrespect you and nothing was supposed to happen. Fast forward to now, it takes so much prayer and self-control to keep from giving in to the violent temptations. When there's a lion inside you, but you have to be a lamb, at first it can be hard trying to contain it....but I keep my eyes on Jesus as much as possible...and that's what keep me. Salute Blue Boy

I was a prison guard at a maximum security prison in Texas. As a female I had a hard time, but the reason I quit was because of how those inmates where treated by rank and other CO’s. They would ask me to witness cases on inmates that I was not around to see. They would straight up take away the little rights that those inmates had. It was despicable to say the least . I had to go cause it was changing me in such a way that started to lose trust in all humans. FYI I’m a nurse now. A profession that I can truly be proud of.

This interview is extremely emotional for me because you can actually get a real picture what has taken place in this man's life through his excellent memory recall. What makes it emotional is the constant failures in his life starting with his father going to prison. Then himself going to prison and eventually his son. The vicious family lifecycle of failures continues on. What is truly riveting about Blue Boy is his attention with clarity to recall every encounter, place and name. If I was a movie producer I would capture Blue Boy's entire story and I gurantee it would be a blockbuster movie. He is the type of person that trouble youths headed in the wrong direction would listen to his every word. You never know how blessed you are until someone like Blue Boy tells his story. Doin time in the 4 bldg me and my bro checked a guys case who was in our house and if I remember carefully it was penal code 135.75 sexual assault against a minor in 1st degree class B felony. When we came back from the law library I wanted to kill his ass. Diablo had a shank I wanted to use it on him but he was like nah I don't want you to catch a new one I think he just had love for me and wanted me to stay in the same unit. I couldn't control my anger the guy was short like me but I didn't care if he was 7feet. I told him I was gonna kill him and threw hot coffee in his face. I caught him in the morning before he went to court I'm pounding him out and he couldn't fight so he rushed at me and it spilled out to the gallery. I grabbed his hair kneeing his face. Salute and respect to you brother, especially for letting it be known that your not proud of what you have done and been through also for stating that your not glorifying the life style. I don’t look at it as it glorifying more like a testimony that could reach out to the youth that are at risk and your testimony can save young brothers from taking the path you took. I was a 16 year old Blood that was sent to a adult prison with a 40 year sentence and ended up doing 21 years before actually being released. I also wear my rag but also use my testimony to reach out to the youth that I see that probably going down the wrong path. Growing up the only people that were trying to reach us that were at risk were police, and D.A.R.E just name a few. As I got mature and wiser I came to realization that the youth wasn’t going to listen to someone that didn’t understand what it feels like growing up struggling or what they are going through but those that have been through it, and not only that there is no older cats too pass on the knowledge and wisdom no more. It’s people like us that can take the negative life style that we have lived take it and turn it into something positive by telling our testimony to change someone life by changing their mindset and letting them know that because the next person grew up on the side of the fence doesn’t mean he/she isn’t the enemy they are their own self worst enemy if they think that and at the same time we still be ourselves. I can go on but I will stop here. Much respect to you and thanks for putting your testimony out there and maybe you be blessed.

@@TasetiMuhammadan70x70 idk tbh. I feel like most kids don’t need a motivational speech. They need an actual father figure or mentor who’s in their life. Even Blue Boy said it about when he tried to be a father while he was in prison. It’s like “FaceTime dads” (dads who only see their kids through FaceTime). You can only tell a kid so much. But what they need is someone in their daily lives. Of course you have some who will still become criminals. But most troubled kids don’t have a GOOD/STABLE father figure.

I’m a “square.” Never did prison time. Never had to earn in the street to eat, clothe, or house myself.
This Blue Boy is as they say a “real one.” Who inducts themselves into a major gang (the Crips) and it’s allowed. Blue Boy wasn’t an official Crip. He made himself one and no official Crip checked him. That’s power. I learned as much from Jay Williams, an ex con who has his own TH-cam show. Blue Boy gets respect for owning up to his crimes/acts of violence. This guy even has a sense of humor. Note his reaction to the “thin” parole paperwork he received.
Blue Boy gets emotional talking about not being there for his children. His voice cracks. He couldn’t attend his Mother’s funereal. He was wounded by that too. Who can deny environment’s role in influencing the direction a life takes? Blue Boy grew up in a community saturated with drugs and crime. Puerto Rican, he undoubtedly faced discrimination in New York City. Who knows what this man could’ve become if he’d grown up in a two parent family, a Father actively involved in his life, and all in a middle class community with top schools? Maybe he may have chosen crime. The difference is he’d have seen more of a straight life versus the criminal life he was exposed to which likely would’ve kept him straight. I may be a fool for it but I found Blue Boy likable. I wish him the best.
